  1. If its like last year.. it'll be walmart, and i'll be price matching kbtoys while I'm there.
  2. I haven't started yet, and its making me nervous. I usually pick up a few things from clearance all year long. I just haven't seen a deal/item thats made me go "OH! Perfect!" for anybody yet.
  3. Hits were most certainly the My Little Pony teapot, and the wooden activity block with bead runner. Miss was the skateboard we got a nephew. Apparently Ripsticks are cooler. :|
  4. I take them to the store and let them point out things that interest them. :)
  5. My little $4 crock pot's still kickin.
  6. My kids (two girls who will be almost 5 and 1.5 at Christmas time) DH's nephews (three boys who will be 15, 10, and 1.5 at Christmas time) DH That's it. We're currently going through a loan process to buy a house (which will be my Christmas present. lol) which everybody other than the kids may be out of luck this year since we might be adjusting to life with a mortgage.
  7. Walmart: Megabloks - $10 3pc hat/glove/scarf set - $5 Barbie car - $10 crock pot - $3.98 3 My Little Ponies - $2.99 ea. (price matched KB Toys ad) Candyland - $1.99 (price matched KB Toys ad) EB Games: Onimusha Warlords for PS2 - $3.99 Kmart: 2 packs of Trim A Home wrapping paper - $6.99 (b1g1f) 2 23oz candles - $7.99 (b1g1f) The one thing I really needed though was the Ponyville Teapot palace for $19.99 ... It was sold out everywhere, though So I missed out on that one.
  8. We didn't have a walmart ad in our paper, either. There were some for stores that aren't even in the state - but not a walmart ad to be found. I used the online ad to finalize my list.
  9. I bought online last year.. I checked out at around 4:15/4:30 with no problems. That said, most people last year weren't real sure if you COULD shop online, and it was total fluke that I even tried. Around 8:30/9:00 that morning though it was INSANE trying to shop online, and the site had alot of server issues, carts were lost, products went out of stock.. I'm not sure I even wanna try online this year. I feel like I'll have better luck battling the actual stores. lol
  10. 3,384. Impressive.
  11. That one would work, yes. You can get the wired ones for $29, or the wireless ones for $39.
  12. No guitar, just the two games.
  13. So many directions. Not all toy manufacturers are drowning in recalls. Mattel and Fisher Price have been front and center in all that. However, brands from Hasbro, Little Tikes, and Step 2 have been unaffected. I might not pick up something for the girls if it has a Fisher Price logo stamped on it, but I will look for an alternative (The little tikes digital camera, for example, playskool's version of roll arounds, etc.) in brands that have done testing and proven safe. I doubt I'll be going as far as to call up local craftsmen to have toys made from scratch, however. It's not Macys, Walmarts, Toys R Us, or any retailers fault that these recalls have occured. Nobody's going to avoid Walmart because Fisher Price had a recall. They may, however, think twice about buying Fisher Price in the future - regardless of whose shelf the Fisher Price item is sitting on. Toy recalls are not going to be the end of Black Friday. These days, Black Friday is much less about Mom and Dad scrabling for that hot new toy and much more about techies and electronics gurus hanging out in line for that huge LCD HD 1080p -insert every other acronym to describe a TV that is currently in existance - at a rock bottom price. Electronics have taken their place as the front runners and loss leaders of Black Friday ads. Toys are no where near as prevelant in ads, these days. Black Friday's success has little (if not nothing) to do with toy recalls, really.
  14. I don't want a tv or a laptop. Or anything else electronic, for that matter. I was actually hoping for a larger toy section to the ad. Particularly toys that aren't from Fisher Price and doomed to be recalled for lead paint.
  15. The furreal friend parrot is normally $59.99 ... It's an animatronic pet.. Meaning it's pretty much like a real parrot, without having to worry about it flying away or pooping on stuff. Or feeding it. $44 for it is a decent price drop. My 4 year old wants it, but I veto animtronic pets..we got enough real pets to deal with here.
  16. Mostly cloudy, high of 57 is the current forecast for Black Friday.

    Your Spending

I have more to spend this year than years past. However, there's not much I want to spend it on, so compared to last year, I'll be spending less.
  18. Actually, if you look at the ad scans, you'll see that this specific GH bundle is GH & GH2 bundled up into one box, with no guitar. According to my game guru (14 year old nephew) you can play the game w/o the guitar, but it's not as fun. That said, you can snag a wired guitar at walmart for $29 everyday.
  19. It's a nice camera, yeah, but you can skip the hassle of waiting til BF and snag it from amazon right now for $169. So $150 is not that great a deal on it, considering how much other stores have chopped camera prices.
  20. It really was alot of hype over nothing.
  21. I'm a die hard walmart fan, in all honesty, but this years ad really blows. There's always been at least one thing I get all antsy about but this year? Meh.
  22. If I boycott walmart, then I basically won't be going black friday shopping at all. Does it suck that they won't let sites post their ad? Absolutely. Target cancelled GD's affiliate program, which was far more damaging than sending a pre-emptive C&D letter. Will you be boycotting them, too?
  23. 1. Walmart/KB Toys (skip KB Toys if Walmart will price match) 2. Kmart 3. Home free.
  24. I only care about the bottom line LOL I just want the deals. If you're gonna scrap over TMX Elmo or his cohorts, do it in the next aisle away from the My Little Ponies so I can get what I need and get outta dodge. lol
  25. Most stores will revert doorbusters back to regular price after the designated sale time. That said, last year walmart did not. $30 vsmiles, $99 Dora and Spongebob TVs, and multiple other doorbuster items were still on the shelves at 8:00 p.m. that night.
