  1. Map isn't working for me, either. I'm on a laptop and all I'm getting is a page showing event times.
  2. Actually, yes. I fully expect to be able to order products online. Even if it is a $115 television. There have been $99 televisions for sale online in the past, and I even bought one online for $89 a few years back. So that is not in any way an unreasonable expectation. Especially when the ad says that the prices contained within it are to be available for an entire week. I don't blame the people behind you in line for being upset that there were only 7 products in stock for a sale that was supposed to last 7 days one bit!
  3. My husband goes along. I can't drive, so I need him to chauffeur me. But he also makes an effort to cut through crowds and get to things that I probably couldn't get to on my own while I go after less eventful items on the list that are less likely to have crowds.
  4. One of my favorite experiences was a few years ago when Walmart had the Nintendo DS for $89. My husband had called both of our local walmarts only to be told they just had "a few" of the DSs in stock and that people had already been lined up for days. It felt like a total waste to try and get one, so instead of my mother in law keeping the kids and my husband and I going out extremely early we changed up our plan. My husband was going to stay home with the girls and I'd go shopping later in the morning with MIL instead. We got to the store around 9ish and walked around for a bit shopping, but the DS was not even on my mind because I was convinced they'd sold out hours beforehand. As we walked around, an associate comes over the intercom and announces that there are still tickets available for Nintendo DSs at the paint counter. I high tailed it to the paint counter and asked if there were still pink ones by any crazy chance. They handed me the ticket and sent me to the vision center to pick it up. When the associate opened the door in the vision center to where the DSs were you could see them piled up from the top of a desk all the way to the ceiling. "We'll run out early" my butt!
  5. Just noticed mine is cancelled. Oh well. I'm headed to the store here in a few and we'll see what's going on there.
  6. Geez, I spent the last 15 minutes scouring the Walmart website for the $115 tv. All I could find was the one for $298. I clicked it, and the price changed on the next page. Ugh. At least I was able to order it and I can pick it up in store later.
  7. I was going to get the $99 32 inch for my older girls but...I'll happily pay $20 more for a 40 inch for them (provided I can even get my hands on one). Merry Christmas, kids. lol
  8. Yeah, that pretty much is it for the Friday sales. A few 30% off items, some tires, and some phones annnnd.. That's it. Everything else is on Thursday. I don't mind the Thursday sale, but the lack of anything on Friday can absolutely make someone say "Where's the rest of it?" when they look at the ad. I certainly did.
  9. Awesome. Thank you!

    BF Online Sale

Originally I would've said they were copping out and not making BF items available online this year based on the ad being plastered with "In Store Only" exemptions. However, I've been poking around the Walmart website, and I've actually found quite a few of the items from the ad with the appropriate pricing including the better homes and gardens bedding set and the $98 32" tv. They currently say they're out of stock. This is something I've seen walmart do before in order to prep for a sale. The item can be found, but remains "out of stock" until the sale starts. So I say its okay to hold on to hope that items will be available online, as well.
  11. Oh now this could be useful. Normally our walmart will not price match places like Target because the nearest one is in the next state over. lol If they let us price match to the website's price, though, that opens up a lot of possibilities.
  12. Gamestop, Lowes, and Amazon.
  13. Whoa, I'm genuinely surprised. In a bad way. I keep getting to the end of the ad and clicking my finger to death thinking "That can't be it, can it!?" Where's the rest of it!? Don't get me wrong, there's things I'll be going for...but... but... ugh.

    Older kids

My oldest will be 11 in January. I also have a 7 year old and a (soon to be) 2 year old. Those two are infinitely easier to shop for than their older sister. Thankfully there's still a few toys on her list (Thank you, Monster High, for appealing to older girls) so that helps, but last year she still ended up getting a lot of clothes and books to fill in the gaps.
  15. I would think so, yes. Our walmart has a sign that says only food and perishable items are restricted from layaway. Everything else is a go.
  16. Walmart does carry the Element brand. Now as far as whether or not they will price match, that's one of those where it depends on your store. Here they are not as strict about the model numbers being exact. As long as everything else about the item lines up. They don't ask for an ad or anything to prove that the price is what you say it is. You just tell the cashier you want to price match it for a specific price and voila, it's done.
  17. I cleaned up on Lalaloopsy dolls back in August when they were on clearance. Walmart already had their layaway open and I was able to stash some that were normally between $30 and $40 for half price. Both of our big girls asked for their own compound bows this year. We found pink youth bows that were regularly $80 on sale for $50, so we picked up two of those, too. (For anyone interested, Its the Barnett Tomcat bow. Walmart still has the green ones for $53, but the pink are back up to $70.. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Barnett-Tomcat-Youth-Bow/21684453 )
  18. We purchased the Ematic Genesis quad core tablets for $49 each from Walmart for our older girls (ages 7 and 10) and they love them. I like tablets over handhelds because of their ability to stream movies, access the internet for school work research, etc. We have one google play account and the girls can access shared books, movies, and music from either tablet anywhere there's wifi. Plus there are a ridiculous amount of game options, including mobile versions of console/handheld favorites (Minecraft, Sonic, emulator apps for games like Pokemon and Super Mario Brothers, etc.) that are free or incredibly cheap.
  19. Our walmart was all for letting you put clearance items in Layaway. During the big clearance event at the end of August the toy aisles were covered in big orange signs that said "Layaway Now Available. Clearance Toys Included!" .. I put a few clearance priced Monster High and Lalaloopsy dolls my girls had been pining for in layaway without a hitch.
  20. My RA has been going above and beyond the call of duty recently, so I will probably be online more than in store this year, sadly. I will still probably venture out, but it won't be until later in the morning after I've had a chance to become functional again.
  21. You and I shop at the same walmart!
  22. This is how it is at my store (though they will only price match competitors in the same town). They will not price match Buy One Get One deals, either.
  23. Good luck to you, Jen8112! Baby Alice has alternate plans for my black friday shopping routine, too. I was diagnosed with mild pre-eclampsia last week, so we're on bed rest until the 30th to try to squeak us by until 37 weeks. Looks like it'll be me and the laptop on Black Friday, grabbing whatever I can online.
  24. That's actually one of the few I had been stalking, though the other day I went to look at it to see if there were more reviews and it was sold out. I don't need one that can do much since its for an 8 and a 5 year old and they'll mostly be using it as an e-reader and for educational games.
  25. 2 android tablets, cheap as possible. Monster High dolls and accessories. Baby gear, especially winter apparel. A new Christmas tree and other decorations.
