Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
nikkilugi replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
The Olathe Super Target went 75% today and employees were bringing out more stuff from the backroom and unboxing it to stock on the shelves. It was pretty crowded in that section but I did remember to pick up some things I forgot during my other trip including gift bags and gift tags. I also picked up one of the Meguiars car care kits - my dh doesn't use enough for me to buy more than one box. Also check the grocery section. I got a nice tray of sprinkle cookies for 75% off from the bakery. It was $1.24 which is a really nice deal. They had lots of different Christmas cookies over there and although the sign says 50% off they rang up 75% off. -

I know as of opening this morning the Olathe Super Target was not 75% - I even scanned some items and they were still ringing up 50% off. That was at 8:30 am. I am doubtful about the speedway - it seems that they have been a little bit behind on their markdowns - or at least last year they were. Not sure about this year. I was out there when I bought my Polar bears and their department looked about the same as the Stanley store. -

I went over to the Stanley store right after the first post. I have no idea why the Super Target in Olathe is still 50% but I am so happy you posted about Stanley since that is only 10 minutes away from me also :) I was able to get the last holographic train which was the main thing I wanted. I am really glad I got the Polar Bears at 50% off because they didn't have any at the S. Olathe Target, the Stanley, or the Olathe Super Target. I don't like driving all over town and really prefer to stay close to home and off the highway so all in all I am happy with my purchases. I also got a fiber optic tree, a fiber optic santa, a couple of stocking holders, a few boxes of ornaments, some garland lights, 4 rolls of wrapping paper, a cute Santa candle, got lucky and found some 4 packs of the gift wrap tape and one pop up tape, a couple of t's for my dd - all for $80 which is what I would have spent for the train set full price!! The one thing I hate about clearance though is that I tend to overspend on stuff I don't really need but that I can't resist at 75% off. I think I did pretty good restocking and only getting a few "new" items. I will probably still go to the Olathe Super Target tomorrow, LOL. I wasn't impressed with the selection of wrapping paper and will probably also pick up a couple of stockings to replace some of the babyish ones we have now. -

Well I just got back from the Target at 119th and Strang Line and it was still 50% off. I would be interested to hear if any other Targets around town have gone to 75% off but it looks like it is a no go today in KC. -

I went to the 119th/StrangLine Super Target tonight to pick up a V-Bot for my ds's birthday coming up on Jan 8th and of course I had to go look in the Christmas section, LOL. They don't have many tree's but they did have some. I didn't really look either because I bought my tree last year on clearance, sorry. One thing I did notice is that they had TONS of holographic outdoor trains (I want one!) and also tons of fiber optic little trees (another thing I want :)) Quite a bit of stuff still so I think that is the store I will be at tomorrow morning since I want that train and the S. Olathe store really didn't have much outdoor stuff left. -

For the KC shoppers I just went to the S. Olathe Target at 154th and they were still 50%. I did scan a few different things and verified it was definitely 50% like the signs say. Will go first thing tomorrow morning since other cities have gone 75% today. The parking lot was PACKED though, LOL. I thought for sure it was 75% since the lot was so full of cars but no. -

Thanks! I bought a pair of jeans, a lounging suit, a sweater jacket and a cotton shirt all for under $100 shipped! That is a great deal. Yeah!! -
I don't think it is the mp3 - I think it is the I-dog. My ds's have I-dogs and the music just doesn't get very loud through them. I think that is why they made the AMP'D I-Dog's - they are supposed to be louder I think.
-
I got some cute things for my dd - Thanks! I also grabbed a pair of pj's for my ds - got 5 items for $23 shipped which is good since I had to pay $4.95 shipping and $1.62 tax. I did have a 10% off code so I basically saved tax.

No I think most of the stores around here are out of stock. I checked the DCPI online and it came up as out of stock at all stores except for a limited availability at Ward Parkway. I have found that usually means that by the time that I schlep the 20-30 minutes over there it is out of stock too, LOL. I did check the stock though in Wichita where my brother lives and there is a store there that has limited availability (maybe he will have better luck than I do) and another in Hutch that says available. You actually helped me find one here in town last year also - LOL. Seems it was still a hot seller this year just like last. -

A quick question about Butterscotch. Has anyone else seen the pony clearanced as low as the PP above? The price she paid would have meant it was 75% off already - has anyone else seen this? My brother is looking for one for his dd and I am trying to keep an eye out for him. TIA -

I have things that I have kept for gift giving throughout the year. I can tell you that I have spent a lot more now that I have found this thread though, LOL. I'm not sure of how much money I am saving just because I am buying more things - just cheaper :) It's funny, 2 years ago when my son was in kindergarten he was invited to TONS of birthday parties - at least 8. Last year that number went down to only a few and this year he has only been to 1 - so basically all the toys I have stocked up on have just been sitting up in the room. I have even bought some girly things because again in his kindergarten year and even last year he went to a girl party - but nothing this year I think as far as what I buy this year I won't go as overboard. Of course I say that now - I can't resist a good deal and when I see all those women with literally carts full of toys I will HAVE to fill mine too so I don't miss out. -
Target also does a major reset in the summer to start stocking for Christmas - that usually happens in July or August. Same thing - toys usually will start at 30% off, then go to 50% and finally 75%.
-
No - this is something that Target does every year to get rid of overstock and to reset their shelves with fresh product. It might be toys they don't plan on carrying throughout the regular year but it doesn't necessarily mean the toys will be no longer sold or made. Check out the Target clearance thread on the offline deals forum and you will be able to check on clearance dates, etc.

Our AMC theater still has the "normal" matinee pricing as well but it is more than the $5 special price. I think the matinee price for adults on a weekday is $6 and on the weekend the price is $6.50 or $7. Regular ticket price is $8.50 - I think. This is a "special" price that AMC advertises I think - they technically don't call it matinee.

I haven't had this problem around here. If I have my receipt they have given me the full price I paid for my items. Of course I doubt they will be on the shelf at 75% off either. I live in the same area and I agree. I haven't had any problems with the stores around here on returns of seasonal merchandise. :) -

I went ahead and bought an animated polar bear and the baby cub bear today at 50% off. I missed these types of things last year when I waited for 75% off and I really wanted these. I figure if I luck out and find them at 75% off I will return them with the higher receipt. The toy area in the store I went to today was pretty cleared out already. They had some 30% clearance but not really a lot compared to how empty the toy dept shelves were. -
TRU here too.

Went to bed last night at 12:00 am. We got up at 7:00 am so I feel pretty good about that. I had the "talk" with the kids last night because usually they are up at 5:30 am and dh IS NOT down with that even if it is Christmas. I told the boys - when you wake up STAY IN BED. No talking, don't go down to the tree - the only place you can go is to the bathroom and then right back to bed. They did good and I didn't make them wait too long - I think they were worried that I would make them wait until their dad's normal 9 am wake up time
-
We got one today also. My MIL mixed up the gifts last night and my ds opened up a couple of Wii gifts - a nunchuk and game case. They were a bit confused but my dh just said - Mimi is getting old and she confused your gamecube with the Wii - LOL. She would flip her wig if she heard him say that :) The kids are bowling right now with their Grandpa. They are having a blast!

I think it has been said on another thread by someone but Christmas to me is about the holiday and appreciating the people you love. I don't personally think it is about punishments. You have 364 other days of the year to punish your daughter - why pick such a wonderful day as Christmas to do it. You could always give her the gifts and then "ground" her from them, LOL. Goofing off in school and not doing their homework is wrong but personally I don't think it is enough for me to not celebrate the holiday with my kids. JMHO.
