  1. My mom and I drove up to KMart last Thanksgiving at 6 am and the line was huge - at least 100 people at opening. We decided there wasn't anything we needed that badly and went to Wal-Mart instead to price match the dvd's we wanted. I have noticed that KMart here doesn't have much stock of the items on sale either and they don't restock their shelves as much either even on the normal grocery/household stuff.
  2. It worked for me :) Thanks so much for the offer and the extra code - I am going to divide this up for gifts for my cousins and my grandma can never get too much foot creme, lol.
  3. Wanted to add that I have read a couple of books off of www.feedbooks.com and they were really, really good. These are usually self published authors wanting to get their work out there. Good stuff
  4. I have a kindle and I LOVE it. It is so worth the $$ in my opinion. www.kindleboards.com is a great site that has a section that lists bargain books. Amazon will put books on special and Authors can also self publish their digital books on amazon and you can get those books pretty cheap. The classics are also free on Amazon. Another site is feedbooks.com. They have books in other formats besides the kindle format which would be nice for other book readers. Keep in mind that book readers have different formats and if you get something other than a Kindle your mom might have issues downloading off of Amazon. Ebay would probably be the place to look for a cheaper Kindle if that was the brand you wanted (I am partial to it because I LOVE it). The kindleboards.com website also has a for sale section.
  5. Free shipping for me too, however, I have been telling myself to tighten the purse and only buy what I need and or can use and I don't technically "need" these. Great price on permanent markers though!
  6. My kids still want snuggies - my ds8 asked for one last year and it hasn't changed this year either - dang that commercial
  7. http://www.facebook.com/gottadeal?v=wall#/nikki.luginbill?ref=profile I did #3
  8. 1. The best ad for me was Target. I price matched at Wal-Mart a lot of stores though. 2. Organization - I make a list of items, the stores they can be found at and the price and bundle that with my ads so when I go to WM I have everything ready to price match. 3. Friendly helpful service on BF. Maps of where items are located and employees who maintain control of the crowd.
  9. Found a red striped quilted hammock for $32.97. It was not marked clearance - that was just the price of the hammock. What confused me was that the quilted green stripe hammock which was exactly the same except the color was $129.97. We went to a different Target (Super this time) and the red stripe hammock there was $64.97. So ymmv I guess.
  10. Thanks SO MUCH!! I really loved everything and my boys were so happy to steal my LIL Kinz and eat my candy, LOL. I really really loved the slipper socks. They are so warm and exactly what I needed. My dh waited to long to shop this year and Target was all sold out (supposedly) of slippers so those socks are doing big duty on my cold tootsies!!
  11. I am in the market for a laptop. I pretty much just use it for my photos and web surfing so a cheaper laptop is fine. I was wondering if anyone has the ad for Best Buy that starts tomorrow and could tell me what laptops they will have on sale? I am eyeing one I can buy on Staples.com but want to see what Best Buy will have. The Staples one wouldn't get to me until next Friday according to their website and I will have to pay tax - so if I can get something instantly at Best Buy tomorrow I would be happy :) TIA if you can help.
  12. I am so glad you liked them. I was thrilled to have found that flamingo and I couldn't pass up the purple bird. Thanks RBWilliams for my ornaments - I loved them and so did my family! I am pretty sure I had a ss elf myself because the card I got said it was from a SS elf. Could you check and let me know so I know exactly who I should thank for my absolutely wonderful gift. Thanks!
  13. I got my cousin a Nick Slime gun. It shoots out slime that is "supposedly" safe as long as you clean it up immediately, LOL. It was funny when we bought it too. We were at Wal-Mart and I asked my sons if they thought it was a good gift. My younger 7 year old said no because I wouldn't let them have it at our house. I told him "you're right I won't but this is going to Eric's house so that means it is ok with me if we buy it for him - his mom will have to deal with it not me". There was a Wal-Mart worker stocking the shelf and she just started snickering. I really did owe my Aunt though because she has bought my kids tons of noisy toys over the years. This was my first really obnoxious gift to her son.
  14. Art you are CRAZY!! That was hilarious - and totally nuts. Glad to see there are no lasting effects - or are there, haha!!
  15. My ds9 and ds7 both love their Bakugan. I let my ds9 go after Christmas shopping with me and he bought about $100 more of Bakugan items - my dh couldn't believe I let him do it. We will see how long they love them but for right now it is a big hit. My dd3 loved her Smores Pony. She was so grateful all day I don't really think there is anything she doesn't like but that was probably her favorite. We did play Wii Cheer together but that game really is for older girls. I played (and sucked) while she just held the remotes and followed along. That game is hard - I can't figure out how to hold the remotes or something because I know I am not as bad as they are saying I am, LOL. I mean I was in drill team in high school so I know how to hold a beat - yes high school was a long time ago just as my dh reminded me, LOL.
  16. I forgot to add that I also got a awesome smelling bar of honeysuckle soap - honeysuckle is really my most favorite flower scent! Thanks again - I can't get over how nice that package was and how awesome my elf was especially after already buying for one person already. My kids want me to say thanks as well - they already logged onto Webkinz and put in their codes :)
  17. An Elf came through for me!!!! About 10 minutes ago I opened my front door and there was a package waiting for me - delivered by Fed Ex shipped 2 day. I got some great items - I thought for about half a second of waiting until Christmas, I mean it is only 1 1/2 days away, but then I just couldn't, LOL. I got 2 lil kinz which each of my boys immediately confiscated from me. My dd placed her mark on the webkinz ornament. I got a multi pack of beautiful christmas ornaments, some warm fuzzy slipper socks, a scentstories machine and merry christmas disc (my dh can't wait to set that up), some Lindt chocolates, 2 bags of Giradelli squares choc peanut butter (I had to threaten my son to keep his hands off those), and some coffee. I took a picture which I will get loaded on my Photobucket after we get back from shopping. I just wanted to say THANKS to my elf. Whoever you are you went above and beyond and you are AWESOME!! You definitely overspent and I absolutely love everything!
  18. No ss yet for me either This was fun for me anyway even though I haven't received anything. I love reading about what everyone got. If you are waiting to open your package until Christmas - please post what you got afterwards! I love living vicariously through everyone else!!
  19. Most of the gifts I received from my grandma and aunt on my dad's side weren't something I would especially use - most were from Dollar General - but I know it was all my grandma and aunt could afford and I loved them for that reason alone. Recently I sold quite a few unopened in a garage sale :) I did keep them for many years but I have been on a purging kick lately. Now one gift I just didn't understand was given to my dh and I about 7 years ago. I had just started consulting with Creative Memories and had just gotten big into scrapbooking. I had vowed to get rid of all of my albums and move everything into scrapbooks. Well my MIL got my dh and I a personalized photo album from Lillian Vernon. It was the kind that holds the pics individually in the plastic sleeves. The funny thing is that she knew about my scrapbooking because she had been to a couple of my parties and she knew I was trying to get rid of all my albums and move to scrapbooks. Another - when I was around 16 or so my mom and dad bought me a Lane chest. I was so disappointed that year because I never ever thought of a chest and had no idea what on earth I would use it for. I do still have the chest and it still has stuff from when I was in high school, LOL. One day I will give it to my dd - but not as a christmas gift, LOL.
  20. Still no ss gift today for me either. Getting lots and lots of beautiful cards everyday though!
  21. my ds(7) asked for a Snuggie last night. I guess he was watching that commercial where they show that blanket like robe that you can wear around the house and now that is what he wants - a blue one with a collar and everything. Geez.
  22. BTW - I haven't received my ss yet either. The person I sent to has received theirs and posted :)
  23. How is your mail delivery from overseas there in Italy? I used to sell on Ebay and lots of people wouldn't ship to Italy because of the postal restrictions and customs delays. I really hope you receive your package soon!!!
  24. Same here! If you have received your gifts please POST!!!
  25. I was wondering if anyone has seen the Furreal Smores Accessory pack in a B&M store like maybe Wal-Mart or Target? I know right now I can get one on the Hasbro website but with it being this close to Christmas I really don't trust Hasbro at all to ship it out in time. I also don't want to go to ebay unless I absolutely have to.
