  1. Oh yeah - we do go to the Super Wal-Mart so we are inside. Big difference - I won't be waiting outside with her - no way - it is too cold here for that and I'm not totally crazy.
  2. I am one of those people that will be taking my child with me. Sorry I annoy you all but I have no choice. She is a major mama's girl and cries nonstop when she isn't with me. There is no way anyone is willing to watch her. I brought her with me last year and we were no problem. In fact some of the ladies in line in front of me took turns holding her while she slept. They loved it and it gave my back a break - this year I am getting a cart for her. FYI - I don't let her walk around, I'm not crazy.
  3. Well I have Vonage and I know that there are 2 levels of service. You can pay $15.99 for 500 minutes a month or $24.99 for unlimited minutes of service. We personally do the lower level and just pay the overage which so far our monthly bill has been less than $20. CC is giving you the telephone router free. I don't know if you have to prepay the subscription or just sign the contract and pay monthly. You have to have cable internet to use the Vonage service - DSL won't work. Personally I like the service so I think it is worth the $200. Our cable provider has become much more reliable so our service is rarely interrupted anymore.
  4. Well I would think the PSP would be a line. My Wal-Mart had a line for the GBA SP last year in the electronics department. I'm not sure about the Dora Car. I would think they would have them on a pallet somewhere in the store - so more of a mad dash type of item. If you live near a supercenter then go there and scope out where the pallet is and hang out around it until 5 am. Last year at my store they let people get the items in their cart but they just couldn't check out until 5 am. (well everything except the items like the camera, the laptop/desktop and the gameboy sp's).
  5. I was able to use my coupon code. I had a problem at first but then on the confirm and checkout page the promo code entry appeared and accepted my code for the $2 discount. I hope the headset is good. Ordered it for my mom for Christmas.
  6. Went to Target today and found a KC Chiefs Tailgating table orig. 69.99 for $17.48. It has its own carrying case and everything - will work great with camping. I also got a V-Tech Pooh learning toy for $6.50 originally $24.99. I am pretty happy.
  7. You have made the choice to work in retail knowing that you will need to work every BF. It is not my fault that I work in a job that doesn't require me to work on that day so I can go shopping. Listen I don't begrudge you your deals but I do think there is a problem if we are talking about a limited item - like say a laptop where there are only 15 in stock.
  8. I took my daughter last year - we stood in line at the Wal-Mart Supercenter for the gameboy SP's. We were inside and dressed appropriately as well. She will be going with me again this year - she is a momma's girl. I agree with the majority - you are the one that knows your 13 year old. If he/she is mature enough then go for it. I have had my cousin who is 14 babysit a couple of times and let me tell you - she is tough, LOL. The car thing would have been tough because no kid wants to sit in their carseat when the car isn't moving and that would be the only safe way to contain the younger kids - home is perfect, they will probably sleep the whole time anyway. Just start practicing the morning routine with your 13 yo now to have him/her ready. I understand the need to get out and get the good deals. I know some have said that there will be more sales - but BF have the BEST sales with some items at the cheapest prices they will be for the season. The fact is that some of us NEED those cheap prices to be able to spread our cash to provide for our kids & family.
  9. Here in our city the bell ringers are purely volunteers. There is a website that you can sign up to ring the bell. My kids and I are going to sign up this year - they wanted to ring the bells so bad last year but it was too cold and they were too young. I usually give everytime I go if I happen to have some cash or change. Actually that doesn't add up to too much because I don't usually carry cash - I am a charge card shopper, LOL. We also try and adopt a child on the Angel Tree which we will probably do this year as well. It sends a good message to the kids about helping others in need.
  10. You really do need to search when you go there. A lot of their stock can get jumbled up as customers rummage around through everything. I personally love the toys - I have gotten some really great discounts on things like Lego's which are highly collectible. I am sure I will be buying gifts for my nephew and niece there for Christmas if I can't find anything suitable on BF. I love Tuesday Morning. Been thinking about getting a second job there just to take advantage of the extra discount - LOL.
  11. We buy Frazier Firs which are WAY more expensive than any of the other trees for some reason but I love them too. We paid $75 from a lot here in Kansas City for a 6 1/2 ft. tree. Very expensive but the tree was much, much nicer than the crappy ones they were selling at Home Depot.
  12. Our WM had 40. They were only selling 1 per person also so I had to call my mom over to stand with me so I could get one for each son. The line was soooo long and the WM people let people stand in line until around 5:30 am before they starting counting and telling the back of the line they were out of luck. I was amazed at how long the line was for this older Gameboy. Really, really long. All in all WM handled the situation well because they managed the line and kept the gameboys behind the counter to sell as the associate in the front of the line brought each customer up one by one. It made the line go slow but it stopped any line jumping.
