I need a Wii but not the bundle
nikkilugi replied to jsmst35's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
On the Wii thread above someone metioned that they are 100% sure Target is going to have Wii's on Dec 16th and another store will as well but they didn't have the info on which one yet - probably Best Buy though. -
Not that I am aware of. The only movie leaders I have seen is a Megatron, Decepticon Brawl and Optimus Prime. The Bumblebee comes in the deluxe class and then there is the Ultimate Bumblebee.

Let me look here for you and see if the store around here still have any. I know I have seen them not too long ago but I haven't looked within the last week and since Christmas is getting closer - who knows. I will let you know what I find.
-
What games are you looking for? I don't think I can get any on sale but I can check my local stores and see about picking a couple up for you if you would like. I have seen them at Wal-Mart around here.

Mini Digital Keychain Camera w/USB $0.00 ($29.95) Buy.com
nikkilugi replied to deelite's topic in Online Hot Deals
I just checked my email and I got the same messages. Dang - I didn't really need this but it would have been a nice little add on gift. -
I also think Target is cheaper than Toys R Us - $24.99 vs. $29.99 at TRU.
-
I have seen the acoustic guitar at Target also - you might try there. I do see them fairly often around here at Target when shopping. I haven't looked at that aisle the last couple of weeks though so I don't know about now since Christmas is fast approaching.

No I don't let them open any gifts I have purchased for them. However that being said we do go to my grandma's house on Christmas eve and celebrate with my mom's side of the family. She has 7 sis & bro's so my kids get plenty of gifts to open that night. In fact they are so tired they fall asleep on the way home so they don't even bug us when we get home. It also helps that I don't put any gifts under the tree until after they go to bed on Christmas Eve. I don't trust the animals, my kids, or my DH, LOL.

Where do you leave it? I am thinking of leaving something out for the trash man this year but I don't know where to put it. They have the automated trucks which hoist our cans up and dump them in the truck - now they do have to get out if we have extra stuff.

HELP! Which GPS? I dont know the differences
nikkilugi replied to Mzkitty_Phx's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I will have to check with my mom who is an engineer for Garmin. I know they are expanding their headquarters and building a HUGE warehouse. My dad works in returns and they get the returns directly and reship out the new units on warranty claims. You need to go online to set up the free trial of the traffic system. Like I said my dh got a streetpilot 550 which isn't even one of the higher priced units and he got the traffic service free trial. He had to go online to activate it though. You go get FREE update maps for the first year of your service then you have to pay like you would with any unit. Regardless why are we supporting a business based in Europe when we could be supporting a business that employs thousands of US workers BASED here in the United States. I have been inside of the company and I have seen the workrooms where the people are working on components for units and doing all kinds of technical stuff. It is very possible the units are assembled in Taiwan and then shipped back to the home office to be inspected and shipped out to customers. I know that if you need service when you call you will be reaching someone in Kansas - not in India. When you need a warranty service you will be getting your product from Kansas - not Taiwan. When rework needs to be done to a unit it is done here in Kansas - not overseas. Besides the fact I can say this is a really great company to its workers. It pays well and provides lots of great family events. It has given my mom & dad some great benefits and perks for working there. It is treating its workers right unlike some other US based businesses (like WM for example). I apologize for saying the units were assembled in the US. Of course it would be more cost efficient to have the unit assembled where most of the components are coming from. My main sentiment remains the same. I would much rather support a local business from the USA that has the added benefit of being in this business MUCH longer than the overseas competitors. Of course like I have stated I am slightly biased because my parents work there and they are headquarted in my hometown. -
Question for all you Amazon and Walmart Fans
nikkilugi replied to hannahs_momma's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I agree with justmel. Wal-Mart is getting really picky about their returns in my stores as well. Just recently I had to fight with a customer service person about a return and when she wouldn't do it for me I had to call a store manager and get him to tell customer service to approve the return. Also the UPC might be different on an item purchased at a different store. Last year my son got 2 robosapiens. He didn't have a receipt and we tried to return one and it wasn't found in the system for return so they wouldn't do it. We had to go get the other one and return that one instead - I knew one of them was purchased at Wal-Mart, LOL. I am pretty sure Wal-Mart will stop taking returns without a receipt here real soon. A customer service associate told me last time that they were getting really strict about their return policy. Definitely make sure you are returning within 90 days if you have a receipt. That was what my last fight was about. I wasn't aware of the 90 days because the receipt doesn't say anything and I tried to return some items that were right at 100 days out. I had to call the manager after cs flat out told me no. I explained that unless someone goes over to cs they wouldn't know about a 90 day policy because it is not on the receipt anywhere. Target and K-Mart both print the date on their receipts. -
Well said. Why don't we talk about how some of businesses got started in the first place? There is a need and someone fills it. If someone is willing to pay for a voucher then the person selling is providing a valid service to someone. It all comes down to how willing you are to get what you want. If you want that Wii or laptop then get to the store early enough to get a voucher. Then the people who are selling vouchers won't affect you. People need to plan ahead and act accordingly. Of course the government is going to call online sellers "black marketeers". However the government has no concrete number on how much any one seller profits/sells. The government doesn't know how much someone paid for the items they are selling. The IRS is just pissed that ebay is making all of this money and so sellers on ebay must be making thousands and not paying taxes on it. Sure there are sellers who don't pay taxes - however like I said before there are TONS of legit sellers being responsible business people and paying their taxes.

My pics would be blurry when I had the night setting on but I found that if you take a pic and then take another real quick usually the 2nd wouldn't be quite so blurry. If you take the pictures on the regular mode it will be darker but the pictures shouldn't be blurry. The night setting is definitely brighter but much trickier.

YEP absolutely and the plastic snowflakes would come off when I was trying to untangle, LOL. But I do LOVE them now that they are up :) I am going to have to be careful when I take them down and figure out a way to store them without having a big mess to untangle next year.

What personal experience if I may ask? I am very sure there are people who cheat on their taxes - ebay seller or Hollywood movie stars i.e. Wesley Snipes. The media take great pleasure in reporting a story to death making something not that important into a national disaster. Does the media have adequate research on this topic? Do they have the number of ebay sellers that do pay vs. the total number of sellers? Why on earth isn't selling on ebay a valid business? Have you been on that site? There are people from all over selling all kinds of things that you can't just walk into a store and buy. Give me a VALID reason why this isn't a valid business?
-
Lindstrom - don't you think you are assuming a bit much by making the statements that ebay sellers aren't paying taxes?? Do you know that for a fact? Why not go to the discussion boards on ebay and take a look around. Many sellers are BIG advocates for paying taxes and running their businesses professionally. Do you walk into a brick and mortar place of business and assume they aren't paying taxes? Why do that to an online seller or an auction seller? As for the ticket sellers if they are making less than $600 they don't need to pay taxes on that money anyway. That is the cap on whether a company sends out an 1099. Lets remember many people buying items to sell are doing this so they can have the money or purchase items for their own families. This is their income. Why are we faulting them for making an income? If you don't like it then don't do it but don't knock the people who are. I drive a school bus during the school year but during the summer I am out of work and don't get paid. I have 3 kids which would cost a small fortune to send them to daycare so I can't afford to do that. I sell on ebay during the summer to help make $$ to pay our bills since I'm not bringing in a paycheck. I sell because I need the $$ and be able to still stay home with my kids.
-
What is the difference in values between someone who purchases to sell on ebay vs someone who purchases for themselves? I am curious. I have been reading this debate with some interest. I have sold on ebay in the past although I am not doing any selling right now. I don't understand how someone who is working to make some $$ is bad. Believe me it is work. You need to visit tons of stores at all hours. You need to have the capital to invest in products to sell. You need to have the time to list, pack and ship everything. This country is a capitalistic society. Companies aren't in business to help people out of the goodness of their heart - they are in business to make money. It is about the bottom line - why fault someone for trying to make their own way on their own? Also how is selling tickets any different than paying someone to stand in line for you? I contemplated that last year when the Wii came out. My dd was way to young for me to leave her for the night to camp out for a game system. I was going to pay someone to do the waiting for me. The kid needed the $$ and I had the $$ to pay. He was working by camping out in the cold.

HELP! Which GPS? I dont know the differences
nikkilugi replied to Mzkitty_Phx's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My dh has a Garmin Streetpilot and it is really great. You get a free trial of the traffic system when you buy a Garmin as well. They will update your maps online if your unit needs it and you can download different fun icons as well. His unit also has a MP3 function and Bluetooth which is really nice. I can't stress enough that Garmin is a USA based business. I think the quality is fantastic and the company is great. Both of my parents work for Garmin, LOL. Made in the USA is worth something isn't it?? Why support a foreign business - our economy can use all the help it can get. -
I will usually give my kids the EToys catalogs that come to our house and they will circle everything they would like. Of course they know they won't get everything but it is a great tool for me to use when shopping and telling the grandparents what the kids want.

Pictures really don't do the yard & house justice. We have a real pretty garland around the front door and front rail, two nice entryway trees and a light pole that we bought at Dollar General this year. The yard is just a mishmash of retro and modern lights. I love the blowmold plastics so I have a line of those, some older light frames and then some new stuff like my trees and angel closer to the house. You can't really see the angel but she is really pretty in person as well. The icicles on the garage overhang are cool - they are shaped like snowflakes and every 5th bulb flickers. I have chasers around the garage doors and c9's along the gutter of the house. I will put up some lights around the front windows and a wreath between the upper windows to finish off. We love decorating the house and we have already had lots of cars come and slow down in front of the house :)

Your house is very nice. Your cat is AWESOME! I was going to comment on those eyes in that one shot - totally freaky!

Walmart's BF prices still available on some things
nikkilugi replied to dgmommie's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Was at Wal-Mart today to return something and decided to take a stroll around the store and see what BF items were still there. There were quite a few toy left over but none were marked down. This store had tons of pj's left but the price was $6 something so it seems the price of those went up after BF. I did see they had some of the Little Tikes kitchens on a shelf but the price tag underneath was the original $99 price. I wonder if they would ring up at the BF price if I scanned one? I don't need anything else for my dd and I really don't want to purchase anything from WM but that kitchen really looks cool. -
Hallmark Friends and Family Days 11/30-12/2
nikkilugi replied to nikkilugi's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Maybe it is. The postcard I have has a spot for the Hallmark to stamp their name and location on it. So my card is only good for that one location. It might be something you want to check with your Hallmark store on.
