  1. Normally I would have let it go but the people at the customer service desk talked to my mom like she was crazy - "There was NO sign ma'am". She did most of the legwork - I did the finger and phone work. This wasn't the first time the toy section has had wrong prices on the shelf and they NEVER own up to their mistakes and honor the prices on the shelf. It just got to be too much for me - especially after the run in I had with them earlier that week. I felt management should know that their associates are rude and lied to us on top of everything.
  2. Not sure about online but you could buy the coupon from one of the coupon venders out there. I think the coupon forum probably can tell you a vendor name.
  3. And I applaud Target for posting that policy so well also. That is one thing I HATE about Wal-Mart. They don't have any date on their receipts and no policy. If you want to see the policy you need to go to guest services which is total crud. I had no idea Wal-Mart even had a 90 day policy until I went in on day 100 to make a return once I finally got my mom's receipt from her for gifts to my kids. I even told the manager when I had to call him that "Target posts dates and policies on their receipts"!
  4. I am happy to see both sides of course. I put off seing the first documentary and only saw it because it was on the cable channel I was on while folding clothes and I was too lazy to turn it. I would be interested in knowing what reports were false - because I doubt the whole thing was false and everything I saw bothered me in some way. I will have to check out the Penn and Teller one - but my bad opinion of Wal-Mart is based on my personal experiences lately - not a documentary.
  5. I do miss getting a bonus. I drive a school bus so I get nada, LOL. We do get a HUGE turkey at Thanksgiving but that is about it. In my past administrative positions though I got $1000 a year. It was really nice for sure. Our boss was so nice. It was a fairly small company and he treated his employees very nicely. $25 gc on birthdays, nice parties and after 10 years of employment he gave $10,000 NET - he paid the taxes. I miss that job, sigh.
  6. That is weird because their both of those websites say that express shipping guarantee's the order by Christmas. How can they have that statement - AND their items are IN STOCK I would think that everything on the site is included unless noted on that page. If you are willing to pay for express and their websites make those claims then they should be able to ship out any in stock item.

  8. It seems to me for my purchase I would fall under the minimum $25 mark. Just recently I purchased the mouse pad from Cherry Press for $2.99 each. I did not have to pay anything at all.
  9. We have a store called Vintage Stock that sells all of the older game systems and games. I have sold NES games to them as well as buy stuff for older systems.
  10. In the US we don't have to pay customs fees - that is only other countries I believe. I have never had to pay anything for an overseas shipment. Of course I don't buy anything super expensive either.
  11. My 2nd grade ds gave his teacher a glue gun that can be corded or cordless, a package of glue sticks, a book of 1000 motivational stickers, a package of gel pens, a box of World's Finest Mint Meltaways and a $10 Wal-Mart gift card in a cute pair of socks gift card holder and then everything got put in a Christmas bucket. My 1st grade ds gave his teacher a package of gel pens, a speciality milk chocolate bar and a $20 Wal-Mart gift card also in a pair of Christmas socks - all in a small Christmas pail. They both gave the bus driver a $20 Wal-Mart gift card in a reindeer plush gift card holder.
  12. I have a $10 coupon that I won't use if anyone wants it PM me. First PM gets it.
  13. The nature of customer service is dealing with customers who have a problem. They are frustrated and upset that something they *usually* paid good money for is messed up or has a problem. I absolutely understand the difference - your customers vs. ALL customers who visit a customer service rep. Tell me what the difference is between your office and a different customer service office/desk? What is the difference between those customers?? I have been talking about customers who have a need for customer service help - just like you. I can't help it if you don't understand what I am talking about.
  14. If you read my post I stated that the attitude you bring in affects how you perceive customers. That means that I think you are going into this with the attitude that YOUR customers (basically ALL customer you come in contact with) are rude, lying, demanding people. Tell me how that is a HUGE difference? You are saying that 90-95% are bad right? I mean do you get ALL of the bad ones and nobody else? I guess I am just confused how you are making the distinction between customers you have worked with VS. all customers in the world? How are you getting all the bad ones? Do they flock to you?
  15. Well maybe it has something to do with geography? Sure some drivers have problems but none that make our drivers go crazy or anything. What motivation would I have to lie to you about this?? I don't own the bus company, I just drive. Sure there are some problems, sure kids can act up, when don't they? All I know is that on my bus route I have good kids. Now my route is only 15 minutes long from start to finish so the kids don't have much time to act up. The fact is I have been waiting to crawl up the senority chain so I can get more trips and it is taking me forever - there are drivers that have been driving 15+ years at my location. Something must be ok for them to stay. We both have our own opinions - however the fact is mine comes from experience of actually driving a bus instead of listening to someone gripe and complain. Like Rockford mom says you will always hear someone gripe and complain about their job - that is human nature. FYI your first comment laughing and saying how you would rather clean toilets wasn't the nicest thing in the world to say to someone about their chosen job.
  16. That is all well and good - just don't knock my job when you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about it. I didn't come on here complaining. In fact I am a testimonial for how great of a job is *for me*. To the other PP: It seems to me the attitude you bring to your job affects how you perform it. If you are burnt out with customers then obviously you are going to go to work with a HUGE chip on your shoulder. You are going to think "I'm not going to give one cheating, lying customer what they want today because all they are trying to do is scam me". So what happens to the legit customer who just needs a little extra help? You chip affects that interaction and the odds are exponientially higher that that customer is going to get mad, upset, and angry with you for whatever reason. What started out as a nice needy customer has now turned into a problem because as a CS rep you turned it sour with your attitude. 90-95% of customers ARE NOT bad - that is just your attitude towards customers talking now. You see EVERY customer as bad which is a dang shame. The long and short of it are there are bad customers and bad CS reps. I choose not to be a CS rep for a good reason - I have a short temper and when I am upset I cry. I know my limitations and I made a choice better suited to my abilities. My job doesn't pay great - hey I probably only average what a CS rep makes working fulltime. I don't get benefits and sure I have interaction with parents who are only concerned about the wellbeing of their children so they can act like bears. I *know* that everyone can have a bad day so I don't take it out on my passengers or their parents. That is what you need to be able to do in ANY job - period.
  17. OMG!!!! LMAO!!!! -- I happen to LOVE my job. I have absolutely no problems with the kids that I drive OR the parents of the kids. I live in a fairly high income area as well and again NO problems. Often the high turnover is because we don't get as many hours - I average 4 a day. It is rough to make ends meet when you are only getting paid $11.50 an hour 4 hours a day. You go right ahead and clean those bathrooms because I am totally 100% happy doing what I am doing. In fact it is probably good you aren't a bus driver because that chip on your shoulder regarding other people's kids wouldn't do you a bit of good in a position with kids.
  18. Just wondering where does the OP say they bought the Wii months before? Have I missed a post? I just hate the implication that you are making that ALL customers are awful idiots. Do you hear yourself when you talk (or in this instance write) about your job? It just irks me that there is some kind of division where now store personell think the customers are lying, cheating, demanding idiots. Not all customers are like that but because of your past you are assuming that the OP is one of those people - just like you are probably assuming I am. I am sure you read every post that someone writes about problems at the store and assume that it was surely the OP's fault in some way because they were being rude or demanding or whatever. I will be the first person to say that I have been very disappointed in the service that I have received at certain stores lately. The quality of service is going way down. Rarely can I find someone to help me and when I do they are not happy doing it. All I can say is that it is a shame that it has come to this.
  19. I would never as a customer treat anyone that way - AND I would expect the same from someone else. I don't care if a CS person just got cussed out by someone else - I don't need to be treated as if I was the person that just mistreated them. An aspect of that job is being able to handle the adversity that comes along and MOVE ON. Not every customer wants something for free, not every customer is going to treat you bad, not every customer is a scamming theif. Don't treat me like that because someone else dumped on you. I am there to shop and if I come up to you and nicely ask where something is - don't huff, roll your eyes, and get a sarcastic tone. I was nice to you so be nice to me - it really is your job to help me. That is what customer SERVICE is right? My advice to those that are burnt out from customer service is to find a job elsewhere. Sure the economy is bad but there ARE other jobs out there. Hey I drive a school bus and I know we are constantly hiring - chances are your bus companies are too. There are options - don't cry about a lack of options because if you are committed enough to make a change you can do it. The OP gave me the impression that they were more upset with the fact that the employee first played dumb on the phone saying they didn't know what sign the OP was talking about. Then when pushed further they all of a sudden knew. THEN they used foul language when a customer could hear - hey the OP was a customer regardless if they were there in person or on the phone. The CS person on the phone was NOT right in my opinion.
  20. People in retail have a job to do and that is to serve the customer in those stores. It is just like waitstaff at a restaurant. Sure there are difficult customers - but YOUR JOB IS TO HELP THEM - that is what you are getting paid for. If someone doesn't like getting paid the wage a store is offering then don't work there - find a different career. Customers keep the company you work for going - treat them bad and eventually you will lose your job when your company goes under. The fact that managers don't seem to care when they hear about bad customer service really tells me how bad of managers they really are. Instead of shrugging it off and assuming the customer is a trouble maker - maybe they should do their job and ensure the employees are providing the BEST service out there. That is how you get and keep customers period. On a side note my cousin worked for customer service at a cable company. He was on a phone call and he THOUGHT he put a customer on hold. He then starts to "vent" and the customer heard the whole thing. My cousin got fired. Now he wasn't directly talking to the customer - he was talking to another co-worker and the customer heard it. That was not acceptable and he immediatly lost his job. There is no excuse for cussing where a customer can hear - period. If that employee wanted to vent then next time make sure the phone is HUNG UP!
  21. I saw some toy clearance at the Target store I was at as well today. It looked like the store was already starting to move some clearance toy items in a seperate aisle. The one notable toy I found was the V-Bot. It was originally 129 and it is on a clearance endcap for $64.98 - 50% off. It had to have gone directly to 50% off because my son just pointed this toy out to me last week and it was full price then. I just told my dh about it and it looks like I have the ok to buy it for my ds :)
  22. I am going to have to tell my dh this idea and see if he can figure out how to do this. :)
  23. Well the lady across the street has some mighty inviting airblowns, LOL. Maybe the kids will leave my yard alone now that she has put up a plethora of decorations. I have to say - her yard blows mine away even though I had mine done weeks before her. She smoked me this year. My dh hates it because when I lose at decorating the spending on the after Christmas clearance gets higher, LOL.
  24. I think that will happen soon. I have butted heads with my Wal-Mart about their 90 day policy. I told them they didn't have a date printed on their receipt so how was someone supposed to know there was a time limit? The items I was returning were brand new and unopened. The lady at CS just said management was getting very strict about returns.
  25. That is a great price. I was able to buy this same doll on Amazon just the other day for $40 with free super saver shipping. It was shipped via UPS to my house today for FREE!! Yahoo! My dd will be so happy, she loves Dora.
