I got my mailman a gc to McDonalds. This year I will probably just do some cash. He is so nice - he always works hard at Christmas for me and wraps my boxes in plastic if it is raining and he has to leave them on our porch. We never have the same trash man so I don't get them anything - I probably should though.

If I recall there is no link until the night before or on the actual day of the sale - that is the "secret" part of it. Last year there were employees of the store that didn't even know of the sale themselves.

Not everyone has internet access or they might have dial up where the ad would take FOREVER to load. I know my grandma doesn't have a computer at all but she has 5 great grandkids to buy for so she would need a physical ad. The advent of the internet is great but that doesn't stop people from needing the physical ad as well. There will always be people who don't have a computer or access and will need the printed versions from the stores. I also like having the printed ad so I can schlepp it around and keep it as a reminder of the things I need to go buy. My kids also circle what they want and it helps me. Trees will die whether I print it at home or Target does - frankly I give Target enough of my $$ I would rather they print it and give it to me :)

I also got one - have never been and am interested in knowing how the deals will be also.

CC is totally leaving the Kansas City Metro market - I guess I will head there later this week to see what their deals look like.

I think that the movers guide at the USPS has had some coupons for either Lowes or Home Depot in the past. You might try picking up one of those at your local PO.

It just depends on what we need that year. Some years we do a "big" present for both of us, others like last year we do seperate presents. This year we need lots of "big" things so I imagine we will focus on those. I know we are buying a new desktop computer and we will also be buying a new TV for the living room.

Wowsa this is the message I got when I put in the zipcode for the current store in OPKS : We're sorry; there are no Circuit City stores within 100 miles of OVERLAND PARK, KS 66213 - I didn't shop there much but I don't like the thought of not having the option and just having Best Buy here in the metro KC area as the main electronics store.

I used the Hasbro coupon and got Piktureka (sp?) for $13.99 after coupon and also the $5 Ultimate Lightsaber coupon with no problems. He didn't give me any trouble and he was even an older guy which worried me for a second - he just picked up his hand scanner and scanned in the bar code :)

The toy book was not in my sunday paper today I would be interested in knowing if any other metro KC people got it today.

My sale doesn't. It also says that you can be a volunteer which I am at my kids' school so I count that. When you sign up for one in your area you get to print out a fast pass which you just give them when you show up and that is about it.

My kids have asked as well but since most places don't want you wearing them I don't see the point much. I guess the boys could ride them on the sidewalk in front of the house or on the way to school. They would need to take the wheels out though once they got to school because no heelies at school.

My dh works for DG as a Regional LP person and he said that they are not supposed to sell the items and in fact the stores should have cleared them off the shelves at that point. He said the reason they aren't supposed to sell them is because the items are taken out of the inventory count when they get salvaged like that and if the store sells them then it will mess up their inventory numbers. That is his concern with the subject because in LP that is part of his department - inventory numbers, LOL.

YAY! I will probably go to the store and take advantage of this deal. The only problem is that they don't seem to have much stock on each of the games. Whenever they run a good sale they usually have rainchecks up at my Targets after the first day of the ad

I did see on the online deals where Amazon has some sort of rebate. I really doubt that the Elmo will be a doorbuster but you might see a $5 or $10 reduction closer to Christmas.

I have a question about the $10 coupon over $75. I know the coupon says one per customer - I think the past I have used my mom's coupon too on a different transaction to get another gc - but my TRU wouldn't let me use them both together on a later visit because they said it was only supposed to be one GC per customer period. Do anyone know if this is true?

You can't price match at Target at all. Target does price adjust but they will NOT price match any other stores. Walmart does price match but you will need the ad and my store won't match another store unless the sale has started - so if I was matching a Target item on BF I would need to wait until 6 am to check-out because that is when Target opens on BF.

That is the way it is here also. I have seen a few on the shelves when I have been shopping with my boys and then when I have dropped them off and gone back (usually the same day) they have ALL magically disappeared! Very popular either with parents trying to find them or toy resellers getting them and selling them on Ebay or Amazon.
