A Wal-Mart Experience (not BF)
nikkilugi replied to nikkilugi's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I was blown away by that documentary. It was like a train wreck - I just couldn't stop watching. I was especially disgusted with the part about the Walton only contributing $6,000 to the employee fund while their employees contributed over $50 million - crazy. I also can not believe communities are subsidizing Wal-Mart. Believe me those stores do not need to be subsidized. It helped convince me I don't need to be giving any more of my money to this company and those people (the Walton's). -
A Wal-Mart Experience (not BF)

Really I think everyone should watch that documentary about Wal-Mart if you haven't. It will open you eyes about some of the company's practices. My mom went and got her $7 price adjustment. She had a customer service manager help her and after she explained everything the csm said she hadn't heard anything about it but she thought what my mom was saying sounded right and just refunded her the $7 without any problems. While we were there I needed a few things so I bought them but I kept it to the bare minimum of what I needed to get by. In fact I just went to K-Mart to buy the Funkey's they have on sale so I can return the ones I bought at Wal-Mart. -
I have done a bit of mystery shopping and having an employee come up to me and ask if I need assistance is always a question. There is usually a time that I have to wait and if an associate doesn't come up to me then I have to ask for help myself. Frankly we aren't talking about asking "every" customer - we are talking about someone who is in obvious distress and had made eye contact with a floor associate. At that point someone should have come over and asked to help. I think they have roving associates on the floor of TRU to make sure customers get the help they need. I understand you are just sticking up for the retail workers - however, serving the customer is part of the job. It is just blowing me away how it is becoming us against them. Where is the service? That is what makes customers happy and keeps them coming back to your store which then keeps the store OPEN. Sure there are some difficult customers out there - but I guarantee the stores that cater to these customers are making money and stores that have workers who don't give a crud are losing customers - plain and simple.

This is the leader class transformer which sells for $39.99 at most stores. Optimus Prime is very hard to find right now though so you will have to check constantly to see if you can find one in stock. Target and Wal-Mart would be good places to check on a regular basis. Good Luck.

Hallmark Friends and Family Days 11/30-12/2
nikkilugi replied to nikkilugi's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I put down the only exclusions listed on the postcard - although I see it does say there may be other exclusions not listed. We will see - if I can't then I will pay regular price - no biggie. I have seen the other thread but frankly the items get bought up way to quick for me, LOL. There are some crazy webkinz people out there I guess. My kids don't have any and they really haven't asked for any so it is no big loss if I don't get them. -
I went into Hallmark yesterday to buy a couple candles and cards and got a postcard/coupon for next weekends Friends and Family event. You can save 20% off your total purchase with that card excluding purchases of gift cards, keepsake ornaments or Hallmark Product Red. I was planning on buying my kids each a Webkinz while in the store but I heard the cashier telling another customer about this sale next weekend so I decided to wait until then to make that purchase to take advantage of 20% off since each one is $14 each.

Just went to a different Target and picked up the Airport Lego set that I passed by yesterday. That Target had so much stuff still left. They had TONS of 10'' portable dvd players. I already have one or I would have bought another, LOL. I also went to Old Navy and got a couple of shirts for my hubby. Then went to Hallmark and bought $25 of Yankee Candles and got me free little jar. Also bought 3 cards and got the cutest Rudolf plush that plays music and his nose lights up. It was $9.99 with a 3 card purchase. -
My mom and I went into Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving so she could get a few groceries for the day. We were originally at K-Mart but the line was like 200 people long right before 7 am so we drove over to Wal-Mart. We did some shopping and my mom wanted to pick up some toys for my grandma to give my kids for Christmas. We found a Dora saucer chair and I picked it up and told my mom that my dd2 would love it. There happened to be a Rollback sign underneath the saucer chairs that said the price was rolledback to $10.88 from the original $14.88. We paid and then sat down in the McDonalds area so my mom could grab a coffee. I looked at her receipt and saw the chair rang up $14.88. Since we were still in the store she went over to cs to get that price adjusted. Well when the cs associate scanned the tag it came up to $14.88. My mom said that there was a sign taped underneath the chairs that said the price was now $10.88. The cs lady called back to toys and the associate said "no the chairs are $14.88 - there is no sign". So my mom walked to the back of the store and sure enough the sign was gone. My mom went to find a toy associate and asked where the sign went underneath the chairs. The associate said that she just took the sign down because the Dora chairs weren't included in the lower price. She said that the sign said which chair was discounted (it didn't) although she didn't show it to my mom. My mom just said that she didn't see anywhere on the sign where it specified a certain chair and the girl just said - well I can help you return the chair if you don't want it. There was no offer to refund the difference and no apology for the confusing signage. The whole time I was sitting in the McDonalds waiting for her. She was gone so long that I got up to go see what the problem was. I didn't want to go all the way into the CS department though because the lady working was one I had a problem with a couple of days ago over a return. I had to call the manager to get what I needed that time and the lady wasn't too happy about that. Anyway my mom met me on her way back up front and told me what happened. I wanted to call the manager right then while we were in the store but my mom didn't want to be "embarrased" like that so I said fine I would write an email through their feedback on the Wal-Mart website about the experience. Today I got a call from an assistant manager of our Wal-Mart. I explained what I wrote above and mentioned that I thought it was illegial to not honor a shelf price/sign. He agreed that the whole situation was handled badly and said that he would talk to his customer service managers and make sure they had my name and my mom's name so she could bring her receipt back in and get a $7 refund. I said it was only a $4 difference and he said that their company policy is that when the price difference is more than a "certain" (he didn't elaborate) amount then the customer gets an additional $3 as well. I also mentioned that the associates at that particular Wal-Mart haven't been very friendly as of late. Besides this gal flat out lying about the sign I encountered a manager over in electronics who was obviously having a bad day as well. After everything that happened regarding their BF ad on here as well as just watching that documentary "Wal-Mart - The High Price of Low Cost" I am pretty disgusted by the whole company. I am happy though that my email was forwarded on to the store and proper people in the company. The assistant manager mentioned that my email was forwarded from the presidents office. Of course I did mention in my email that I thought it was illegial to not honor their shelf prices so that might have had something to do with the quick reply as well.

Just went back out to Target for some cat food and home stuff and found Smarty Pants for the Wii. I of course snatched it up since it was on my list yesterday but I didn't get it. Happy dance for me!! -
I got a set for my son. There was another lady there who was looking and she said to me "I can only find the price on the shirt, how much for the jacket and pants?" When my mom pointed out on the tag that it said 3 piece set she was thrilled! That was a pretty good deal and the quality is pretty nice. My son will dig it.

How many do you want? I can go down the street and see about buying some for you and shipping them to you. I think that I could fit them into a priority mail box and it should only cost about $5-$6 to mail to you. Let me know.
-
The Walgreens by me had TONS. When I walked in I picked up 2 for my cousins and acted like I won the lottery, LOL (we didn't get there until 7:30 or 8 am). While I was shopping I saw them in at least 3 different locations in the store.

I think the lines were awful as well. We started at JcPenney's and the line at either door had at least 200 people in them. We hurried up and picked out our stuff and got out by 4:45 and went straight over to TRU. That line was awful with at least 300 people - however the experience was good. I didn't want a Zune and I got every toy on my list. They were restocking as soon as the shelves were empty which was very nice. We were out of TRU at 5:40 and went over to Target. That line was absolutely ridiculous. I mean there had to be over 400 people in this line. We waiting until everyone got in and then my mom and I headed in. We couldn't find the movie 300 anywhere but I did get my boys the Pokemon figures and the Pokemon game. I also bought Uno Attach for $12.99 which totally made my day because I didn't notice that game in the ad. I thought I was going to have to go to K-Mart tomorrow to get that game. Last we went to Wal-Mart and bought the movies on sale. I did notice that there were all kinds of doorbusters left, including quite a few desktop computers, tons of printers and upconverting dvd players. All in all I did spend over $300 on mostly toys for my kids, LOL. My dh is happy though because I picked up Christmas Vacation for him which we will probably be watching tonight, LOL. -
It's not price matching it is price adjusting and according to Target corporate ALL stores are supposed to do it. Since Target doesn't have any doorbusters you can go in on Saturday and price adust and if you have any problems just call the customer service 800 number and have them talk to the Target store. You can also email and get the response that others have copied on a different thread. According to corporate all stores will price adjust this 2 day sale.
-
I prefer the Frazier Fir - but any Fir is good as far as I am concerned. I don't like Pine personally.
-
Yeah probably. I price matched a ton of stuff from other stores last year and only got a few of the Wal-Mart doorbusters. Didn't pay attention to the rest of the ad, LOL.
-
This ad really is disappointing - what in the heck are they trying to hide?? What great deals are in here? Geez many of the items are their regular prices as of today. Sad.

baby alive boy - where can I find him
nikkilugi replied to momof5sobusy's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I think it is a hit and miss thing. I have seen them at TRU and Target but never at my Wal-Marts. I also know they come into stock for a short period on the Wal-Mart website as well. As far as Ebay is concerned. Do a search for lowest price including shipping. Search often and you just might get lucky and find someone who puts a low buy it now out. If you really MUST have something ebay is the place to get it. -
Toys R US 12 days of Christmas?
nikkilugi replied to Fishboysmom's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Neither did I and I signed up on their website about a million times to get their emails. I even signed up numerous email addresses and never got one message. -
Yes I agree that $149 wasn't what I was hping for. I passed on the $119 deal at Target earlier to wait for BF and now I am a little disappointed.
-
I'm sorry but pricematching is pricematching. I don't care if the sales associate thinks I am a jerk for asking. If Sears wants me in THEIR doors then they should pricematch the doorbuster from the other stores until their stock is gone - which would probably be just as quick as the other stores stock gets depleted. By the way..... our Wal-Mart did price match doorbusters from other stores last BF and I expect them to do the same this year.
-
My dh just told me tonight that 2 stations in town started continuous Christmas music on Nov. 1st. I told him I thought that was awesome. He can be such a Grinch - but when we are all in the car we make him tune into the Christmas music.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007

The store near me already had Christmas on their shelves a couple of days before Halloween. Crazy huh? I did get me excited for Christmas though. -
The actual price that we pay $29.99 right? We just get the $20 ecb coupon at time of purchase. The monitor isn't actually free is it?
