Thank goodness our Walmart is nothing like that one! lol. Thank goodness for living in a small town..

I have always used a cart. But me and my best friend usually take turns holding the cart, depending on how much stuff we are getting. Our biggest is usually Walmart, but this year I think it may be Target. She has always taken at least one of her kids also, so we had to have a cart. Our Walmart is busy, but it is no where near as bad as some of you have talked about. The main thing I am worried about it where everything will be and how they will fit anymore items in our store..lol. They remodeled about 4 months ago and I still can't find anything! Everything is also more crowded than ever. So this will be an interesting year.

lol. I know. We do ours around 4 or 5 for that reason. So I am free to finalize ads and get out the door.

anybody have any experience with the straight talk phone on the sale
starbeck96 replied to momof5kiddos's topic in 2010
I don't have straight talk but my best friend does and she loves it. It picks up so much better than my ATT phone. I am going to switch probably sometime after Christmas bc I want the more expensive phone. -
Plan so far: I will be at Walmart at midnight. Then hopefully I will be at Target by 4 which will actually be 3 our time since we have to drive 45 minutes to a store over the state line. Then probably old navy and then toysrus. My friend and I have to get together to decide what we are gonna do. We will probably finalize next week since we are both in college right now and we are out next week.

I also loved that as a little girl. I am planning on getting it also so my DD4 can watch it.

What store will you no way/no how shop at on Black Friday??
starbeck96 replied to Danascraps's topic in 2010
I will go to any of the stores but I refuse to go to Best Buy and wait days to get soemthing...lol. I usually go to Walmart first but ours is not as bad as some of you talk about.. -
Start in Randolph County, AL then go to Newnan, Ga, and then to Fayetteville, GA. I hope I will have at least some money to shop with anyway...it's been a tough year and it all depends if one of the jobs is ready for DH to start next week. If not, then I won't be doing any BF shopping unless I go for my mom.

Thank you!

starbeck96 replied to sweetdiggity's topic in 2010
Yeah that is a good price. I wish I had the money right now to get it, but I don't so I'm hoping it will be on sale again sometime before Christmas or right after. -

Children and Black Friday. Should you take them with you?
starbeck96 replied to jaymacfla's topic in 2010
I do hate it when the parents take their kids and then don't watch them. If I lived somewhere that it was dangerous to take out kids I would not take them out either. Thankfully I've only had to take one of mine one time. My husband is self employed and usually takes that day off so he can watch the kids and he watched my friends older kids also last year. She usually takes her youngest (she is 3) but one of us is always watching her and it is not dangerous at all where we live. That is the advantage of living in a small town.. :) -
I did see a few things a little cheaper but I am hoping that alot of the things will drop even more BF. I am really wanting to get my dd4 a Tag system for Christmas. I wanted to get her a dollhouse also, but I don't think I am going to be able to this year. She might get about 10 toys but they are going to be $10-$20 toys. My boys are wanting some new video games so I am definitely hoping to see some of them marked down also.

I look forward to when I can take my dd. She is only 4 now and I would take her if I had to, but my husband usually doesn't work that day and even if he does my mom will keep her. She is giving me money to get all of the grandkids' Christmas presents so she knows I can't take her. My boys are 12 and they will stay with my parents or my husband's parents. It just depends if my dad has to work or not. She is not able to go shop that day anyway because she has rheumathoid arthritis. I will probably take her when she quits believing in Santa and I know that she will enjoy it. It will definitely become a tradition though (if she likes it). My boys mentioned that they may like to go to Walmart with me this year. We live in small town and there is no danger. They are as big as many adults anyway..lol. But I figure they will back out when I try to get them up at midnight..lol. -
Post a Holiday Recipe & Win GD Reusable Grocery Bags [Winners Posted]

Oreo Dirt Cake 1 bag oreos (crushed) 1 large box vanilla pudding 1 8 oz. container Cool Whip 1 cup sugar ( I use less sugar alot of times and it turns out fine) 1 8 oz bar of cream cheese, softened (optional) Pudding Mix Directions: Mix the Vanilla pudding according to package directions. Add cool whip a little at a time, then add sugar and the softened cream cheese. Mix very well. Put a layer of crushes oreos into bowl. Then put layer of pudding mix. Repeat layering. Make sure to end layering with pudding mix. I decorate the top layer w/a handful of crushed oreos sprinkled on top. Sometimes I add whole oreos on top. The Christmas colored oreos are very pretty when making this dessert. After you have finished layering cover bowl and refrigerate at least 10 hours. It is better overnight though. This is one one those things that you can make a day or two ahead. It is a hit. I have to fix this for both my side of the family and my inlaws at Thanksgiving and christmas dinners. I have been making this for dinners for about 8 years. Everyone loves it. -

I think alot of it depends if you are going to be in extreme cold and how long you are going to be out and if it will put your child in danger. My friend always takes her youngest (she is 3 now). she had no one to keep her in the past but may have someone this year. Her husband always worked that day and now they are divorced. Her dad may keep her daughter if he doesn't have to go shopping w/her mom. We go to Walmart first and we are there early. Our Walmart is nothing like those you see on TV and on this website..lol. We live in a small town and we know almost everyone that we see out that morning. So it is not dangerous at all. I would go if I had to take my kids bc that is the only way that they get a Christmas some years. I have taken one of mine one time and it was in a different city. I said then that I would not ever go to that city again especially with a kid. We got there around 6:15 so it was right after the big rush. But it was so crowded that I was constantly worried about him getting away from me. -
I don't do binders either. I have a regular notebook that I make my list of what I want. I have a separate page for each store so I can mark off what I actually was able to get and what I still need. I'm not really sure about the coupons, but I think Target has some. I believe you can go to their website and get those though. I am not completely sure about this though.
-
Yes I think they do offer most items online. I've never bought anything from them online though so I'm not real sure.
-
Yeah I really hope they are on sale BF or the Tag website has some great coupons since Christmas is so tight htis year. I think this is something that my dd will really enjoy. I am also going to wait and see what is on sale BF before buying.
-
The TRU Express is smaller. I really don't know if their is any other difference though. One opened a month ago in a nearby town, but I've only been in there once. As far as I could tell the prices were pretty much the same, but the store is a good bit smaller.
-
Thanks brinak2005. I am also in that cafemom group..lol. I was hoping that you would get the scan. Thanks so much!
-
Thanks to everyone who helped get this posted. I saw quite a few things for my dd4. She wants the loving family dollhouse and it was 50.00. It makes me wonder if Walmart will come down to beat this price. The Tag reading system was a decent deal also. It was 29.99 so that's a savings of 10.00. This makes me wonder if the BF prices will be lower on these two items???
-
yeah I saw this a couple a months ago. The only bad thing is I don't have a Kmart w/in 50 miles of me and it wouldn't let me do it...UGH! Even though I go past one Kmart twice a week..lol.
-
They should bring layaway back and just add a cancellation policy like Kmart. Even if they charged 5.00 to put things on layaway like Kmart, I would still shop there bc there prices are so much lower than Kmart most of the time.

That is awesome. I may have to make another stop this year! It is just so hard to decide which stores to go to. It will all depend on the ads. But I know my boys are in desperate need of clothes and so is my daughter.
