  1. 90% Off Tacoma and Federal Way Found a 52" snowman for outside for 7.99 at Tacoma, left a couple of snowmen and a couple deer Both Tacoma and Federal Way had trees Lots of bows, ornaments and whatnot at both. Tacoma has a nice endcap of Hannukah wrap and supplies - the silver bags with embossed stars look good for birthdays to me. Federal Way had Hazelnut Bodycology sets on an endcap in beauty - no marking - no clearance - nothing Scanned at .99 It's two items, in a plastic package, with a PINK ribbon. Looks very Valentine's to me!
  2. Penney's has some cute things on clearance. I bought a musical snowglobe there this morning, started out at 29.99, I paid 9.99. They have some ornaments and other things similarly discounted.
  3. Our walmart is 75% off Christmas. I toured yesterday. Didn't see a thing I wanted. My daughter did buy some Gingerbread flavored marshmallows. She liked them, but all I can say is But I don't even like regular marshmallows, so to each his own.
  4. My son is 11. He loooooves Nerf guns. They're annoying, but harmless. He has a paper jamz guitar, which he likes. He gave one to a friend at a birthday party and it was a big hit. I'm sure he'd love a marshmallow shooter too, although I'm not sure I would! He got an electronics snap together electronic set last year from Radio Shack, which was kind of cool.
  5. Bed Bath & Beyond has the Fushigi. They're 19.99, but if you have a $5 off coupon from one of their sale flyers it's 14.99.
  6. Amazon is a pain. I bought Halo a week ago for 48. They won't price adjust, so I have to repurchase at 29.99 and return the 48. For $18, well, closer to $16 after shipping I'll do it, but it's kind of stupid that they won't price adjust.
  7. Whoo-hoo! Survived Walmart. Showed up at a 24 hour Walmart before 9. There were a few other people obviously scoping things out, but not many, and nothing serious. Found the Rockband display...cheated a little.. stuffed one in my cart. My dd was with me and if I hadn't cheated she would have camped and grabbed one anyway. Grabbed a dvd and went and hid out in the garden department for a couple of hours where the other toys I was after were on display. I never would have guessed garden department but I enlisted the help of one of the employees and she was kind enough to walk around peeking under black wrapped pallets with me, and when we couldn't find it, she found another employee who told us where it was. Somehow we wound up near the power wheels. We promised a grandmother we'd run interference for her and help her grab her gds number one wish, a power wheel. When that section started looking ominous about 10:30 the manager told everyone they could take what they wanted but couldn't check out until midnight. We did our good deed for the day and helped load the power wheel and took off, grabbing a nerf gun on the way out. Got the comforter set I was hoping for. Picked up a couple ds games and a dvd and headed over to the checkouts, where we waited for an hour, but we were first in line. Ran over to Old Navy, where I didn't realize you had to get a wristband to get a game, but we had such a great experience at Walmart that it was all good. Walmart employees were cheerful, helpful, and while it got a little pushy in electronics, nobody punched anyone, at least not that I saw!
  8. A Ped Egg.Younger daughter wanted one because her older sister has a phobia about other people's dead skin. The Pedegg thing shaves dead skin off your feet. Or a snuggie. Younger daughter also has a leopard print snuggie. Not sure why. Her sister has no phobias about snuggies. A cast iron pancake puff pan. Son was entranced by that idea one year. Or how about a slap chop. We've escaped that one, but it has an amazingly annoying commercial.
  9. The 250 gig Halo bundle was 389 at Costco. I can't swear to it, but I THINK it included Halo Reach and an extra Halo controller. I passed on it because ds wants the Kinect.
  10. I've tried using a cart on Black Friday, but particularly in places like Walmart or Target it's impossible. I think I'm going to suck it up and go to Walmart, and I can't imagine I'll be able to maneuver a cart through that store. So how do you carry things? Just pile it on and try to balance? I've done that, and it's not that easy! I wish I had a big mesh bag like they have in IKEA to just toss things in and roar through the store. Anyone have a great strategy to solve this problem?
  11. I only found one 250 gig kinect bundle at Gamestop. I found some 4 gig bundles - Target, Fred Meyer and possibly Walmart all had them on Sunday in the Puget Sound/South King County (Seattle) area. Costco had Halo 250 gig bundles. But I only found one kinect 250 bundle. There may be more, I dunno. When I found one left at Gamestop I grabbed it and stopped looking.
  12. I think the 4 gig bundle might be easier to find. I found a couple at Fred Meyer, saw someone at Walmart buying one, and when dh called Target they had some. But ds is twitching at the thought of Halo, and that 4 gig looks like it would fill up awfully fast. So I don't know how available things really are, but I had a tough time finding the 250 gig bundle. They might get more available later, but I don't want to stand in line at 4 a.m. somewhere hoping for a ticket. I did that for the Wii one year. It wound up working out well, but I'd rather just buy it and be done with it.
  13. I don't know if just the XBox360 by itself will be a hot seller, but the 250 gig XBox/Kinect bundle is already sold out online. You can buy it through Amazon for $50 extra from some places I never heard of, or there are some on ebay. I toured Costco, Walmart, Target and Fred Meyer today and finally found ONE at Gamestop. I don't know if stores will be getting more in, but it's not that easy to find now.
  14. The library thing can be a pain to set up, but it works very well and easily once it is set up. Check out your local library website, but for ours you had to download Adobe Digital Editions (free) to your computer. It was supposed to do a popup and recognize the nook, but it didn't. After websearching endlessly I changed some permission and the popup came up and it recognized the nook. Then I couldn't figure out how to move books from my computer to the nook. You just drag the title over on top of the word NOOK. I'm sure that's all obvious to many, but none of it was for me and the directions to do this were nonexistent. But it's extremely easy, at least at our library, to check out ebooks once it's set up. I might have given up setting it up, but checking out books from t he library was the reason I BOUGHT the thing, so I was not about to give up.
  15. Wii is fun with a lot of family friendly games. XBox is more game-y type games. We have Wii, my son wants XBox so he can play Halo and some of the other games the kids at school talk about. The Kinect looks fun. I just picked up a Xbox/Kinect bundle for christmas today. If you do decide to get that particular bundle, I'd buy it now. They're already sold out online. You have a choice between 4 gig and 250gig for the XBox. I went ahead and got th 250. Supposedly not all games will play on the 4, and it gets filled up quickly.
