How many people do you buy for for Christmas?
starbeck96 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
We also do a couple of gifts on the angel tree. We are not able to buy everything on one list, but we try to buy a few things. I usually let the kids pick out at least 1 gift each for the angel tree. -

I have my 3 kids and then aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, and grandparents. Oh yeah I also have my best friends 3 kids. I might do teachers if I can find something reasonable or find a good idea from someone. My BIL just got married a few months ago and his wife has 3 kids. We are not sure if they will come to the Christmas dinner or not so I may have to buy for them also. So in all I have about 18-25, depending if I buy teachers and step nieces and nephew anything. My husband and I don't usually exchange gifts because our anniversary is Dec. 7 and we usually go out to eat and maybe a movie and that is our anniversary and Christmas....lol. Also if we see we don't have the extra money we don't buy for the adults in our families only the kids. -
What are you hoping to see on sale this Black Friday?

Ok..I was just looking at Walmart.com and saw something neat that I know I want to get my boys for their Wii. It is called UDraw. You can draw anything you want and then save it to your SD card so you can print. They also have a Pictionary game that you can buy for it. The UDraw is 70.00 and Pictionary I believe is 30. My kids and husband love to draw so this is something we could play with as a family. -

Thank you! Yeah I think most of the Mario games would be fun for her also. She loves to play the sword fighting game on Wii Resort (I think). -

That would be a good gift for my daughter also..We got a Wii back in July I think and all we have are the two games that came with it, Wii Sports and Wii Resort. So, I know I am going to be looking for new Wii games. What are some good ones for a 4 year old? My boys want some of the hunting and fishing games, and maybe a football game. So maybe those will have a giftcard or something also. I know that Gamestop usually does them Buy 2 used games Get 1Free Black Friday. They also usually do accessories like this also I think. I thought that one year they had them buy 2 get 2 but I may be thinking about something else. -
My boys are fairly mature in most areas. We don't allow certain violent games or movies in our house. Now, war games are fine and things of that nature. My only concern is the language and sexual content in games. I was looking at titles for the Xbox 360 and noticed that a good portion of them are rated mature. The boys have one of the Call of Duty games for the PS2 and they love Madden and College Football. We may just stick with our PS2 and Wii and just get some more games, especially for the Wii.

I do not know anything about the Xbox 360. My boys are really just old enough for one. They are 12 and I know that Xbox has always had titles for older kids. But there have been a few games that they have seen on TV or instore that they said they want and it is only for the Xbox 360. Can anyone suggest some good games for that age?

YEah Walmart had them last year in a pre-sale for 199 w/a 100 gift card. I hope to find a deal like that this year.
-
I don't have any insider knowlege or anything..but I really hope that they have a good deal on them. My boys are wanting one. They are 12. I agree with you that I have always felt that it was for older kids. I hope they have a deal at Walmart or Target bc I know I will never get one at Best Buy. I can't go camp out..lol.
-
Thank you. I hate that all we have locally is a Walmart...ugh! We have to drive at least 45 minutes to get to a target or kmart. I will try to get there soon. Maybe they will still have some. How old is your son?

YAY!!! This is only my second year on this forum and last year I was just learning everything and didn't get in on any of the contests. But this year I hope to win one of those shirts...:)

We buy most of our stuff from Guitar Center. They also have a website. www.guitarcenter.com. You have 30 days to bring it back. They also have a 30 day layaway. They usually have a good sale Labor Day also. Also musiciansfriend.com is good. It is almost always free shipping over 199.00. What is the age/ages for the guitar? -

Cool! My husband has played guitar for 19 years and teaches it in our town. One of my sons is following his footsteps. He got his first electric when he was 8. Then he got another one 3 years ago and has really progressed. My other son plays the drums. We got him a set 3 years ago. They are not cheap! -

I can't really price match. We only have a Wal-Mart in our town. Well we have a Fred's and Dollar General but nothing usually worth price matching. The next closest store is Target, but it is around 45 miles away, so not sure if they would honor it anyway. We always go to our local Wal-Mart and get what we can first (it is notnearly as crowded as bigger stores) and then we head an hour and half away to shop at Target, TRU, Kmart, Old Navy, and anywhere else we need to go. So needless to say we are gone all day long w/no rest. But it is so much fun!!! -

I am hoping to find HDTV for around 150.00. Needs to be at least a 22". not sure if I'll find that but I'm hoping... I need one for my boys' room and one for my daughter's room. I also hope to get a good deal on a regular DVD player. For my boys, I also hope to find a good deal on XBox 360 which will probably happen. Wal-mart had one last year in a pre-BF sale. It was 199 w/100 gift card. A deal like that would be great. That is really all they have asked for. They already have a laptop. Maybe a new basketball goal since the wind blew theirs over and broke it. I also want to find a good deal on Tag or Bugsby reader, maybe some outside toys for dd3 (will be 4 in October). I hope to find a good deal on the Step2 Vanity also. Also want some good deals on clothes. -

Wal-Mart usually has a laptop for around that. It is nothing fancy. Usually it is a single core. It will be alittle slower, but good for a 9 year old. -
Thank you. That would be a good deal. Although at Walmart the Bugsby is 24.54 right now. But that would be a great deal on the Tag. If they come down enough I may even get both of them. There are books available for each one that my DD would like. SHe will be 4 in October.

Taking a Black Friday first timer this year.... Am I crazy?
starbeck96 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
Yeah my husband just laughs at me when I asked if he wanted to go..lol. But that's okay, he stays home and babysits... I have never been to TRU when it first opened. There is not one here and we have to drive 1 1/2 hours to go to one. So we usually hit our local Wal-mart store first (which is only store we have) and then head to Target, then TRU. It is still crowded when we get there but I'm sure it is not as bad as first thing. Definitely see if he can get someone to go so they can watch the buggy though. Me and my best friend always go together. We have kids around the same age so alot of stuff that we get the other is getting too. We take turns watching the buggy and then if I grab something for me I also grab one for her and she does the same. -
Yes! It gives me great joy in knowing that I find a great deal. It is the only way we are able to give our kids a Christmas. I feel like I owe that to my husband for working so hard for us. I have one friend who shares my joy. She is the one who always goes with me BF shopping. My mom and sister don't get it though..lol. They think I am crazy for already thinking about BF..lol.

probably ipads. Maybe netbooks or laptops.

I always take a friend..lol. I also always take cash and cards. I keep that in my pocket. I always worry about someone stealing my purse, so I don't want anything that I have to watch. We always put our ads in the car. I always fold the ad for the store that I am currently shopping in and put it in my pocket. -
We went in Target looking for toys sometime last year before Christmas. I wanted to show my daughter Kota. So my husband and I took her over to Kota and pushed the little button. She absolutely had a fit..lol. She started climbing out of the buggy and was literally climbing up me. Once we got her away from Kota, we laughed and laughed..lol. When I saw this post, I just had to reply. It brought back that memory..lol. Needless to say there was no Kota for christmas..lol
