  1. Yeah I was thinking that a better deal would be coming. Thanks. That is what I thought that Xbox live was. My kids don't play online so I wouldn't need that.
  2. Are the prices on either of the Xbox deals good? What is the XBox live?
  3. My son just informed us that he wants a game system. He says a PS3, but he has a PS2 now so I wonder if that is the reason. They do not use it to get online or anything. I am wondering if the Xbox 360 is a better system. He is 13. he mostly plays football and baseball games and hunting/fishing games. I have heard great things about both systems so I am just curious. It seems to me that XBox 360 is cheaper and they have them on sale this Saturday at Walmart. could someone give me soem advice please. and also we have a Wii and I was thinking about getting them a sports game or hunting game for it. Are the games like that any good on the Wii? Thnks
  4. Well, since it seems to be true that Walmart is opening at 10PM, I will probably head out around 9:00-9:30. We live in a small town so I don't really need to go earlier..lol. I am hoping that everything I need will start at the 10 PM sale so I can leave from Walmart and head to Target which is about an hour away and also an hour ahead of us.
  5. Not impressed at all. Their prices on some of the stuff is not much less than what you can buy it for now.
  6. Thanks! I will have to check and see if my store is participating.. I was hoping for a PS3. Oh well.
  7. My daughter is 5 and is really wanting one also. But we do alot of baking together and I really just don't see the need. She does extremely well around the real oven and loves to help me. I know that there are things that she would play with alot more than this. Our money is tight so I want to make sure what I get her is stuff that she plays with daily..
  8. It will definitely depend on what time WM opens. That is the only major retail store in our area so it totally depends on them. I am really hoping that I can get a TV and PS3 and DS in one of their Saturday sales so I don't have to wait in line BF for that. The only other big thing is a trampoline for DD. I would love if that was in the early doorbuster..lol. Then I could leave and go to the other towns that we usually shop at.
  9. I hope I can get one. I am going with my mom to the doctor in the morning so I am going to pick up one then. We don't have a Target here and the closest 45 minutes from us. I hope they have some in the morning..!!!!
  10. I hope it does start at 11 instead of 8. That way I can put something on layaway.
  11. LOL. That seems like what it is coming to..
  12. Yeah I was too....I had to read it 3 or 4 times. lol.
  13. We have a TRU Express about 45 minutes from us and that city has a local newspaper. I had went in there the other day and asked if I could get a copy. THankfully they gave me a copy, but said that was the last one that they could give away. They told me that it would be in the newspaper. Well, I got up this morning and went to get a paper and there was no paper in it.
  14. Congrats to all the winners!
  15. We do have a Gamestop about 40 minutes from us. I have looked into buying her a used one, but the last time I looked I think they were still like 60.00 for a used one. I am waiting to see what deals everyone has BF. Then, if I think I can afford it I may go ahead and get one. The only reason I don't want to spend alot is because my daughter is very hyper and I'm afraid that she will break it. I have already thought about "special rules" while playing with the DSi or XL, whichever one I get. She is getting a Trampoline for christmas so that is her big gift, but she is wanting a DS also. So not sure what we're gonna do yet.
  16. That's great! My daughter is wanitng a DS also. She is only 5 though and I do not want to pay alot. I was disappointed that the DS lites have been discontinued. I was hoping to get a great deal this year on one. Now they will probably have the DSi on sale for alot more than I really want to pay.
  17. I am doing the same thing. I have ceaned and rearranged my closet and bedroom. I still have a few things left to do in there but it is very close to be finished. I cleaned out one of the boys closets yesterday and also my daughter's closet. Today I am planning on cleaning out my other son's closets. We have been using alot of their closet space for storage, so I am trying to figure out what we can do with some of this stuff so it doesn't take up half their closets...lol. We are also going to redecorate my daughter's room. So we have had to take everything out of her room. Her bed was moved into our room and all her toys are in the living room. My husband will hopefully be able to kilz it today..I can't wait to get everything out of the living room. I already have a few gifts bought. I also have a small layaway at Walmart. I am going to add a few more things to the layaway also. I am just waiting on a few games to come out. I have also wrapped most of the gifts also. I can't wait. Now I just need some more money...lol.
  18. My mom, sister, friend, and I usually all go to Walmart. That is the only major retail store in our area. Then me and my friend usually leave and go out of town (about 1 1/2 hours) to do the rest of our shopping. My boys may go with us to Walmart also. Depending on what we need. They are old enough to sit in line for something if we need them too and they are also old enough to grab some movies/games. This year though I don't think my friend and I are going together (long story). Instead my husband is going with me. This is his first year!! He really doesn't care to go, but he doesn't want me going alone. We also will probably make a stop at Guitar Center this year. I have twin boys that are 13. One of them has really been wanting electric drums for years and the other one has been wanting a new elctric guitar for the past year. So, we are hoping that we can suprise them this year. I am looking forward to my DH going with me, but at the same time I dread it. He is not much of a shopper. lol. But I know he is wanting to pick out the guitar and drum set. I am hoping that they put them on sale sooner so he won't feel like he has to go..lol.
  19. I have two Thanksgiving meals: one at lunch and one at dinner and both of them are my house..lol. So on the menu for the Thanksgiving lunch is: I am making mashed potatoes, slaw, oreo dirt cake, and yellow rice. My mom is bringing a ham, dressing, corn on the cob and a pecan pie. my sister is bringing rolls, mac-n-cheese, and probably a cheesecake. (she doesn't really like to cook so we gave her the easy stuff..lol). Our second dinner is alot bigger. I fix a turkey breast mainly for our leftovers and to have some meat for the dressing. I also fix 2 pans of dressing (one with onions and one w/out). I fix mac-n-cheese, turnip greens, corn on the cob, slaw (I will just make extra from earlier dinner), yellow rice, mashed potatoes, rolls, orio dirt cake, a pie (not sure what kind yet), another dessert, and of course we have cranberry sauce. My MIL brings a big turkey, bean salad, potato salad, peas, and usually a few other things. My SIL brought a half eaten dessert last time, so we will see what she does this year. She didn't volunteer to help at all last year with the cooking or cleanup...ugh!!! They have only been married a little over a year so we don't really know what to expect out of her...lol. Anyway, I am very excited about Thanksgiving. I love being with family and I love making all the memories.
  20. I so agree with the tickets. I think that if stores would do this, things would be much better! Our Walmart used to do it. It was great! They still do it on a few things, but you still have to wait in line.
  21. The only problem that I see with this, is those that get there late and then rush to the front of the line. I hate those kind of people!!!!! UGH!
  22. Ok, I just checked everyone's website to see where all of the sporting goods stores are. There is no Cabelas near us. I live in AL and the closest one is in Louisiana. There is both a Bass Pro Shop and Sports Authority about 2 hours from us. They are both in areas that we visit occasionally anyway. So this year we may just go to the cities to do our Christmas shopping..
  23. Thanks..I will have to see where the closest one is. I know that I want us to have our privacy as well as the boys. So I am leaning towards 1 big one. I don't know if I'm quite ready to let them have their own...lol.
  24. Yeah I had read somewhere that Coleman was not what it used to be. I was also weary of the Ozark Trail brand. I have read tons of reviews on Ozark and I only found like 1 out of every 4 that were good.. I had heard that Wenzel was pretty good. We may have to make a trip to Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop. We live about 1 1/2 hours from Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop. We usually go out for our anniversary in early December so we may go then and do some shopping. The boys have tons of knives already. Their uncle had gotten some at a flea market for next to nothing and he gave several of them to the boys and my husband since he knows they love to fish and hunt. I figured that an air mattress would be the best way for us adults..lol. I think the boys and my daughter would be ok with a thicker sleeping bag though. Thanks so much for everyone's help.
  25. Thanks everyone. My boys are 13. I also have a 5 year old daughter that would be going camping with us also. I really had not thought about having two separate tents. Can you put up two tents (on one site) in national or state parks? We will probably do most of our camping in national/state parks since my daughter is so young. I plan on using paper plates some but there is some stuff that you just can't eat off a paper plate...lol. My husband and I both have some back trouble, nothing extremely bad, but we have to have a decent soft bed. Are there any sleeping bags thick enough to be sort of soft?
