  1. I asked an employee at Walmart the other day if they were still planning on pricematching BF. She said yes they are. They just won't give any gift cards out BF for price adjustment..
  2. they are really wanting it for christmas, but we may wait. Their bday is Mar 5 so we could give it to them for their bday. It really depends on what kind of sales i can find. I found a tent that sleeps 7 or 8 and is a 2 bedroom on Walmart.com. It is an Ozark Trail and comes with Coleman queen air bed and 2 sleeping bags. Does this sound like a good deal?
  3. I can't wait!!!! I may start doing some house decorations next week also. I am doing major cleaning in my house tomorrow and Friday so I can go ahead and get all the Christmas stuff out.
  4. My boys are wanting camping stuff for Christmas this year. We don't have anything, starting completely from scratch. does anyone ever have camping gear on sale BF? Is there one brand that you would consider over another. I've heard of coleman and Wenzel. I really don't know anything about camping gear. We are planning on getting everything you would ever need for camping, tents, air beds, cookware, utensils, the whole nine yards. Please helP!!!!
  5. They did not have it at the Target store I visited today. They told me at the service desk that it would be in the local newspaper. So I am hoping she knew what she was talking about.. At TRU they did give me a copy of their toy book.
  6. I also get the bday mailings, but no coupons.
  7. I added myself to their mailing list, but so far nothing. It is probably because I live 45 minutes to the closest Toysrus express and live 2 hours from the closest Toys r us. Oh Well. Do you know if they also have them in stores?
  8. Now for our family 4 pies would not be enough..lol, especially if you want leftovers. Are there going to be any other desserts? If all you are fixing is pies I would say 5 or 6 pies. If the adult men eat like my husband and 2 teenage boys they can easily eat 1 pie in a sitting. And you said you had ten adults so I would say 1 pie for every 4 adults (so you can have leftovers). Alot of recipes make 2 pies anyway. So I would probably go ahead and make 6 pies (maybe 3 different kinds) or 4 pies and maybe another type dessert. There are 3 adult men (who can put away some food), two teenage boys (who eat more than men..lol), a 10 year old boy, a 5 year old girl, me, my MIL, and SIL. I usually make one big dessert (oreo dirt cake). I usually also have a Hershey's chocolate pie, a pecan pie, and an apple pie. We usually also have some other dessert. We always want to have plenty of leftovers.
  9. Wow! That's great, but too bad it doesn't include BF. I wonder if this means that this year they are not going to honor BF ads?
  10. We have several gatherings for Christmas. The first one is usually with my dad's family. We usually have it the 2nd Saturday. This is by far the largest one. It is most of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and their kids. Next we usually have our church's Christmas dinner. That is usually the 2nd or 3rd Sunday. Next is my family gathering. We used to have it Christmas Eve, but year before last we did it on the 23rd and last year we did it on the Saturday before Christmas. My mom was about to have to start kidney dialysis and wasn't sure on the date, so we decided to do it early. I am hoping that we can go back to doing it on the 23rd this year. Then we have my husband's family on Christmas night. My BIL is divorced and that is when he gets his son, so that is when we do our Christmas. christmas morning is set aside for our family. It is always just me, DH, and kids. We usually get up and the kids open their presents. Then I usually fix a big breakfast. Once we get that cleaned up I usually finish cooking the meal for later that evening. We usually also go to the Nursing home Christmas Party. Sometimes I sing. This year i am hoping we get invited again so my DD, 5, can sing. She loves to sing and I know she would enjoy it.
  11. You don't have to have the ad to price match anymore. It is on their corporate policy. I was in Walmart the other day and a cashier said that they won't price match on BF. But last year they did. The manager came up and told me bc he saw me with a target ad. :) This was a cashier that told me this and she was not working there last BF, so I really doubt that she knows what she is talking about. Our Walmart cashiers never know anything until the last minute...
  12. I love this BF forum too! I have been a member now for a few years and this forum is a highlight of my year!!! I also enjoy their regular forums..
  13. It was probably a certain character that was a Target exclusive.
  14. I honestly do not mind paying the 5.00 layaway fee if it means that I can use layaway. I do wish that it was not so restrictive though. I have never cancelled a layaway so the 10.00 cancellation fee doesn't bother me. I used to use their layaway all the time. I used it for birthdays and christmas. It was a great way to hide things. It is also a good way to get the popular items before the holiday season comes into full swing. I went Tuesday to put a few things on layaway and 2/3 of the stuff I wanted to put on layaway was gone. I did manage to get the Little tikes basketball goal for my daughter and Mario Galaxy on layaway though. I am really hoping that if this does well, they will expand it to everything and bring layaway back permanently.
  15. cool! thanks
  16. We usually put up the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year we are going to put it up the week of Thanksgiving. My kids are out that whole week this year for fall break so that is something that we can do while they are out. I can't wait. We always watch A Christmas Story. my daughter, 5, has already started watching her Christmas DVD's. I can't wait for Christmas movies to come on. It just isn't Christmas w/out the movies. Last year we were without cable and I couldn't watch any Christmas specials. It just didn't seem right...lol. We will also start listening to Christmas music the week of Thanksgiving also. Although, my daughter and I have listened to some Christmas music already:) We all love Christmas! I am so excited!
  17. I agree. That was something else that we told the boys. We made sure to tell them not to tell anyone..
  18. I guess so. but I am glad that we can give them something. We don't spend alot on each teacher, but just a little something to make them know how much they are appreciated. We also do homemade Christmas cards for them.
  19. I think it is sad that school districts don't allow gifts. It is special for the kids (especially younger ones) to be able to pick out something special for their teachers who have worked hard all year long to teach them. I am glad that ours is not strict in that sense.
  20. This is why we had a talk with the boys when we did. when they started asking questions we decided to go ahead and tell them. We also told them not to spoil it for their little sister. She was only two months her first Christmas, so it really didn't matter that Christmas. They have done really good keeping it alive for my daughter, who is 5. When I start talking about Santa and Reindeer and things like that, they get involved too. One of them even helped us make the cookies and set it out for Santa..lol. I wanted them to understand how important it was not to ruin it for their sister. They had 7 years of great Santa fun and I want the same for her...lol.
  21. My oldest are 13 and my daughter is 5. even before my daughter really understood we still did Christmas stockings and leaving cookies for Santa. The boys knew already, but I am like you. I want to keep the tradition alive. It is traditions that the kids will remember anyway. One of our traditions is to let them open one gift Christmas Eve. It is usually a game or DVD for the boys (since they don't wear PJ's) and my daughter got PJs and house shoes. They were wrapped together for that reason..lol.
  22. My boys are 13 and have known since they were 8 (almost 9). They started asking questions and my husband and I had always agreed that we would never lie if they asked... Anyway, the magic is still here. I put a few of their presents out, but their main gifts don't go under the tree until after they are in the bed. We also have a 5 year old sowe still get to have fun with her also. The cool thing is that the boys get to help put her stuff together! They love it! It has kind of made a new "magical Christmas" for us. To make it a little more special for the boys, we started a new tradition last year. After my daughter goes to bed Christmas Eve, my husband, me, and the boys stay up and watch a movie. I think last year we watched "A Christmas Story". It is all about memories.
  23. [quote name= For a few years I wrapped the gifts my mom (GRANDMA) bought for all her grandkids because hands are bad and she dislikes it anyway... F - U - N ![/quote] I am with you. I absolutely love to wrap the gifts and I often wrap my mom's stuff also. I do a good bit of her shopping also since I go out of town BF and she doesn't. She just gives me the money and tells me what she wants. But, she does watch my daughter for me while I go shopping...lol.
  24. We also have a lot of teachers to buy for. Thankfully my boys are in the same grade with the same teachers and coaches..lol (twins). So, that does help some. They are in the 8th grade. We are going to do something for them but not sure what. they have four teachers, two P.E. coaches, four football coaches (one is their teacher also), and three baseball coaches. I am not sure if we will get baseball coaches anything since baseball will not have started for the season and there are going to be some new coaches. But still that is 9 to buy for. I will definitely do some baskets for the female teachers. I have lots of trial size bodywash and shampoo and stuff like that to put it in one. I was also thinking of buying a couple of boxes of hot chocolate and some of the individual packs of marshmallows and a mug in each basket and maybe some post its and stuff like that. I will have to keep it under 6.00 per person, so I will definitely have to be creative..lol.
