  1. That is so true. I really think their plan backfired though.
  2. They said they were losing money on it is what I heard. But you see their sales have continually declined this year. If they would add a layaway, at least for the holiday season, I believe that their sales would increase. I know Kmart has a layaway but their stuff is more expensive that Walmart. TRU has one also, but it is only on the bigger items.
  3. I never have the extra money BF to go to Bath and Body Works, but I wish I could. I love their stuff.
  4. Well that would help if you can put electronics on layaway. I knew you could put jewelry on layaway, but not electronics. I may have to ask about that.
  5. Our Walmart has the squinkies, zoobles, and the singamajigs. This is the first time we've seen the squinkies and singamjigs at our walmart. It is the first time my daughter has seen the singamajigs at all..They would be very annoying..
  6. I used a search engine and all I came up with is that they do have sales (not sure about outlets though) but they don't circulate it..this was an answer from 3 years ago though. I also noticed that they had a Thanksgiving sale, not sure whether the ad was circulated or not, or if you just have to go in the store... Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  7. At our Walmart we were allowed to put the items that were not doorbusters in our carts. Everything else you had to wait until 5AM. Now there were alot of people grabbing stuff even though they had yellow tape around it. It was confusing at first because some stuff you were allowed to get and some stuff you were not. So of course everyone was getting the toys (which was the biggest no-no) and putting it in their buggy. The bad thing is that they didn't make everyone put it back! That was frustrating. Ours is not a 24 hours Walmart though and we are in a small city. They did open at midnight so at least we didn't have to stand outside for 2 hours. Overall I did like it alot better last year because at least this way people couldn't rush around you when they opened the doors after you stood there for 2 hours and they had just pulled up.. That always made me so mad! I definitely hope they do it the same this year.
  8. Congrats! I wish I could say that I was finished..lol.
  9. You did find some great deals. I wish that I would have been able to buy like that throughtout the year, but finances would not allow. I just hope to have some by Black Friday. I did get all of my daughter's bday on clearance though. I spent around $50.00 on a about 150-200$ worth of stuff. So not too bad. Also, the only bigger store we have here is a Walmart which makes it bad bc there is no competetion. I do try to stop in Target when I go somewhere that has one.
  10. Thank you! My boys used to enjoy looking through them when they were younger (they are 12 now and mainly want money/gift cards) but I'm sure my dd4 will enjoy looking through this and the TRU toy book.
  11. Congratulations to all the winners. Oh well maybe next contest
  12. I hope this is not a rumor. I will do alot more shopping there if they do open a layaway for the holiday season. I think since Kmart has a layaway it has hurt Walmart during the holidays. So I really hope they do start their layaway program again, if only for the holidays.
  13. Start prep months ahead for the best day of the year Black Friday is here!!! I am definitely not a writer...lol.

    Big Toy Book

THank you. I just added my name to the mailing address. I hope they get my street name right though. Both times they repeated it, it was wrong. Then at the end I had to spell it so maybe they got it right! lol.
  15. I think alot of people go out for the tradition mostly. I know that even if I have to take my laptop and order stuff online, I will still go out BF. It is the only day that my bff and I get to go out with no kids and stay as long as we want. It is a day that we go just to have a good time..of course the deals are a good plus!
  16. Too funny! That sounds like my husband. We went shopping this year for tax free day and I made the comment that this is like Black Friday. He said why do you go then bc I was complaining about the crowd. I told him that when I go BF shopping I don't have any kids or him..lol. It is just my bff and me..
  17. Yep! My family too. My husband used to think so, but now he's gotten used to it. I start thinking about it in July or August, lol.
  18. Congrats to all the winners! I hope I win one!
  19. Great ideas Brad. Our Walmart is not too bad and by the time we get to the other stores we go to which is an hour and half away from us, the biggest part of the crowd is gone (other than TRU). I do wish our Walmart would use the carts to block those that want to come in from the side of the line and I wish that they would give tickets to those in line. I did like Walmart opening at midnight last year though. That really helped. They could also spread the toys out a little bit. The toy doorbusters were all down one isle in Walmart last year and it was nearly impossible to move around. They have remodeled this year though, so I am anxious to see how that goes.
  20. That's my main survival tip also..lol. I have went 10 years now nearly all of them with my bff. There has been only one that she didn't go and that was bc her kids were sick w/the flu. We always plan together so that if one of us can go on one end of the store and get everything we both need and the other one of us gets stuff from the other side. Since Walmart opened early though we both went together and got all of the items that we could around midnight and then one of us went on one side of the toy section and the other one on the other side and grabbed things that were on both lists. :)
  21. Half price books Oct. 12, 2010
  22. They had a good many of the pillow pets at the walmart I went to today! Are they really worth $20.00. They are smaller than I though they would be, but my dd is wanting one so so bad.
  23. It's official now..time to get ready for Black Friday..
  24. I agree with you. My kids play very very few rated M games and that is only after we preview it first. They are not even allowed to play many games rated T. Many of the times a game is rated M is for blood and gore. They have jaws for instance and it says on the back rated M for blood and gore. So they can play that. They can also play very few war games as long as their is no bad language or sexual comments or scenes. My boys are 12 and so far they have not gotten upset with us over this issue. When we tell them they can't play a game or buy a certain game we tell them of another game that they can play. We also explain why they can't play it. I had wondered if they were going to come out w/more kid friendly games for the kinect. We have a Wii and we love that majority of their games are fine even for my 3 year old.
  25. I have started wrapping. I mainly wrap to keep nosy kids out of it...lol. My daughter's bday is in Oct. and I was wrapping presents for her bday (I use old christmas paper that the kids have outgrown or don't like anymore and turn it so the white is on outside) and I just felt like wrapping Christmas while I had all the stuff out. I do not have that much so I was only able to wrap 2 gifts for my dd. The other stuff I have for my dd will have to wait until I put them in boxes (they are odd shaped). I have not started buying for my twin boys yet.
