rachealb replied to dmmiller's topic in Online Hot Deals
well, I only wanted one item and I have been waiting for a sale- so excited, got an extra 45 dollars or so off the airsoft gun that is the #1 item on my sons list!!!!! Originally 224, on sale for 179, total 142 shipped! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I got one at Kohls a couple of weeks ago also- ordered online, 59 or so shipped for a queen with dual control- originally 159 I think =)

:holiday13what, put them up while it is still warm out....????? (75 here today- record highs!) I much prefer to freeze my fingers off!!!! Seriously though, I never put mine up until after Thanksgiving
-
um, I don't even think so. Those people are ridiculous and it so does not work that way. Lucky for me, the last couple of years I have gotten my hubby excited to go and there is no chance anyone would even try anything like that with him with me (he is pretty intimidating looking...)
-
not too excited here either.... I have a nice list going for my son, but no clue for my hubby and nothing is jumping out. We are, however, discussing going to Sports Authority BF to get in line for the scratch ticket like we did last year... hard to pass up a 2 in 100 chance at $300 worth of free stuff, anf they have tons of stuff for my son

my 13yo has known for some time now, but I still insist that our family believes, and if you dont believe you dont get a present from him (which is usually a pretty good one) so it is kind of a big fun joke (anything to drive a teenager crazy!) and he also always gets presents from the dogs!

well, I am "self-employed", sort of a contractor, so maybe I could give myself a Christmas bonus!!!! Just couldnt call it that so it wont get taxed more!

rachealb replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
rachealb replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I seem to remember a long time ago a discussion on here about Shutterfly products on clearance? I am sure they are probably not on clearance now, but is this something Target always carries? If so, what kind of products are they? (I am thinking about something along these lines for a gift). Thanks! -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
rachealb replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Britt5116- It seems like a lot of the Targets have kind of slim pickings right now, so it is probably not you looking in the wrong place, although some of the Targets have started putting clearance right in the middle of the aisle too. If you want to check there, mine has red clearance half circle tags sticking out where they attach the price tags to the shelf so easy to spot. It seems to me that I do much better on clearance at Target after X-mas and in the spring/summer! -
Hubby and I stood in line for this last year- didnt get there too ridiculously early (maybe half an hour before open?) We were toward the back of the line but still within first 100. I got a $10 card but hubby got a $30 card... I think it was good toward any purchase, i.e. no minimum
-
Do you have Sports Authority? They had $25 off $100 purchase coupons in their Sunday ad

I am excited too! Ours hasnt participated until now (well, the 11/30-12/6 week since it is not super K)

Stocking stuffers under $1?
rachealb replied to xoxodashmax's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Claires and Icing sometimes have 10 items for $5 sales- you can get little lip glosses and hair things (if you look through the stuff you can find things suitable for adults if that is what you need) -
okay- this is #1 stuff on my son's list too. We usually shop Sports Authority, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sportsmans Warehouse, also possibly KMart and Big 5. Sports Authority had good coupons on their ad this week- $25 off $100 purchase- you will need lots of the little plastic BBs, and I mean lots, and plan on them all over the house all the time (not from shooting- they just magically end up on the floor and everywhere- remember play-doh and crayons when your kids were younger- about the same concept at our house, just older toys!!!) Almost forgot- this was last years's # 1 also, and Sports Authority had a BF thing where the first 100 in line got a scratch coupon for anywhere between 10 and 100 dollars off (if I remember correctly) so hubby and I went and stood in line at about 5 am, were still first 100 but close to end, hubby got 30 off, I got 10 off, and they had the guns for a percentage off (maybe 25 or 30%????) so we totally got an awesome gun for a great deal. Oh yeah, another thing, agree with everyone saying get electric- that is the big deal about a new gun this year- you can get ones with rechargeable batteries. The single shot spring ones are okay too, but they like to have one electric one. Goggles and stuff are a must for sure!

I have an office chair recommendation- I got a Sealy Posturepedic one, and it is super nice- probably one of the better ones I have had (I work at home in my chair all day!)

this stinks. At least our rewards cetificate finally came- we are going to go try and use it today

Questions about pressure cookers.
rachealb replied to shopping4my3son's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
hmm.... I think mine is stainless steel? Love it, don't use it too much, but for certain recipes it is a must have. I believe the Ball website has quite a bit of pressure cooker info and recipes, stuff like that, Kerr also, their combined website has a lot of preserving ideas. You can also do a web search and find lots of pressure cooker info. Oh yeah, when I got mine, it came with a whole booklet that had all kinds of great info -
We love stockings! Ours always had fun stuff and candy, but an orange or apple at the bottom- I think that comes from tradition because people used to count getting fruit in the wintertime as a special treat But, when we were little, my grandma used to put ribbon candy in them not in a package, so you would reach your hand in and it would be all sticky and covered with the fuzzy inside the stocking stuff! It is now a big joke between my mom and I to give each other ribbon candy

Stealing or Getting Lucky.... What do you think?
rachealb replied to maplegirl's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Well, I guess it would depend.... I had a situation happen leaving Safeway where I had forgotten my giant package of TP and giant package of paper towels on the bottom of the cart because the cashier and bagger and I were talking and I didn't pay for them. I would have gone back in and paid for them, but our Safeway is on a big thing about making absolute sure that the bottom cart items are rang up and suspending/firing people for missing them. So, if I went back in a 30+ year employee would have gotten in trouble, so no way I was going back in. Not to mention the fact that stuff rings up wrong on my receipt all the time. I realize that two wrongs dont make a right, but $15-20 bucks worth of paper products wasnt worth someones job. I do realize that this is a huge price difference from a camcorder so a different situation, but my point is that it would really depend on the circumstances -
the one I like close by is not on the list =) However, the newer one farther away is

Hahahaha- maybe it should be big enough to fit both!!!!! We actually have two big dogs but the girl dog won't share, so we are looking for a house for our 105 lb german shephard (he got bored one day and ripped the roof off their nice insulated barn dog house, but it was getting old anyway)
