  1. My store had 75% off also (Colo Spgs)- got some pretty good stuff for my mom's b-day basket- bath pillow, facial mask, lip plumper, and a coupon for a Wexler eye cream free at the end of the month
  2. save $15 online at www.ftd.com/2007 (valid through 12/31/08). This is from the GoldC book- when you get to the site it already has the $15 off a few selections.
  3. I got my laptop with XP (my internet program to connect to work cant use Vista) after Vista came out from the Dell Outlet like the person above suggested- it was about $300 off new and works fine. FYI, some places are willing to install XP onto a system that came with Vista for you if you buy XP but say it will void the warranty.
  4. maybe some people are just stressed because they found too many deals and spent too much money for the holidays
  5. maybe sportsauthority.com (they have pretty good clearance sometimes) or Dicks?
  6. Dillards.com had a lot of stuff on clearance like that right before new year's so they might still have some- varied between very fancy to not so fancy
  7. I just wanted to add, I hope I didn't make anyone feel like I was saying I didnt like gottadeal because I definitely do, it was more so people will think about what they are saying and how they are saying it! And I agree, the smileys do help keep the tone nice- it is hard when you cant see someone's face. I am sure it is a choice group that is rude, pretty much the same everywhere!
  8. Maybe it is just me, but in a lot of threads I have read lately, people just seem to be being downright mean. If you have an opinion about something, I think you can state it more nicely/politely- what have we done to you?. We all are on here looking for deals, and if you had a bad experience about something it is nice to know that, but you don't have to personally attack people if they like or don't like a product. It is getting to the point that I don't want to write anything (I have only had a couple of not nice sounding things I guess) but reading a lot of these have shown other people's comments being replied to very rudely also.
  9. Wow, that was a pretty harsh comment about Dell's- I was just trying to be helpful- I have never had a problem with mine, and frankly, you can get cheaper and lower end than Dell. Why does it seem like so many people on this site are being mean lately?
  10. I went to our Target in Colo Spgs yesterday, still 75% off, still had a few aisles of stuff
  11. I got my laptop in the Dell Outlet- it was about $300 off regular price because it had a small scratch on the outside.
  12. Wow, I guess here in Colorado we don't have that law- I just always look at the ad like the Sears one and know I am going to pay upfront and then have to send in the rebate.
  13. We got my hubby a cool tripod light at Home Depot for xmas- 3 different settings with LED lights, can be used like a flashlight or like a tripod so you dont have to hold it- I think it was less than $20
  14. We have Madden 08- might be a little bit hard for a 6yo? My son is 12, loves the game, but he says it is challenging. You might look around for a used one- do you have Entertainmart there? Or Gamestop? I got ours when TRU had b2g1
  15. I hate Dish too- we had a sales rep come to the door and talk my hubby into it- BIG mistake- he totally lied about so many things, and it has taken us six months to get it straightened out even though we have a signed contract with the rate we are supposed to get! They keep charging us double and telling us too bad. Hopefully the last rep we got straightened it out, but once our contract is up we are totally cancelling. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and will not even respond to emails that you send. I would pay more to deal with directv or cable any day
  16. mom & stepdad- give them lots of stuff- mom is my bf grandma&grandpa aunt&uncle (aunt also my boss!) son hubby MIL&FIL niece, nephew, SIL other bf, her husband, and their daughter dad&wife hubbys friend 2 dogs 2 birds 1 tortoise aunt out of state toys for tots too- toy run in october and 5 bags of stuffed animals to christmas unlimited this year seems like I am forgetting something....
  17. I like to be surprised, but my hubby is the worst- everything that comes in the mail he bugs to open now, shakes stuff, figures everything out. I have to be super sneaky. He has one thing under the tree right now only, everything else is wrapped and hidden, and lots of things are repackaged into big boxes so there is no guessing!

    Wassail drink

Does anyone have a good recipe for wassail? A few years ago a friend took me to Starbucks and they had it (around Christmas-time), but I have not found it there since, and most people don't seem to have heard of it?
  19. I guess I make my monkey bread the cheater way- I get a thing of Grands biscuits, divide them up into pieces, (tear the biscuit in half, then each half in about thirds), roll the pieces of biscuit into balls, roll that in melted butter, then into a sugar/cinnamon mixture, place into Pam sprayed pan (I use my bundt pan and it works great), then bake on the biscuit pan temperature until it looks done!
  20. On one hand, I agree that lists are suggestions- I dont expect everything on my list. But, when I give an idea to someone off of my family members lists, I dont get that for them then, and if it was something that they wanted more than other things it is important. For our family, our lists have things we would not buy for ourselves on a normal day because we dont just go out and buy everything we want all of the time. That is part of the fun of christmas, and it is exciting when you are going to get something you might not splurge on for yourself. I do feel though that it is part of growing up to get gifts from grandparents, etc. that you might not like, or are little kiddish, so you can learn to still say thank you and be respectful- I think a lot more kids need to learn how to do this and not act spoiled. My son always acts appreciative for his gifts, even when he was 10 and received a preschool tool bench at a restaurant (in public!) as a gift from his great-grandparents and was totally embarrassed- I knew he was, but he didnt act like it in front of them because he knew it would make them feel bad. Sometimes those are the best lessons in life.
  21. We do monkey bread sometimes- easy and good!
  22. Steve and Barry's if you've got one. They have more funny shirts than I have ever seen in one place- and ours has stuff like Army and Air Force too I think, but we live in a military area so might be different elsewhere? They have sweatshirts too, some funny, some teams
  23. I cant remember the name, but we saw one sort of like that at TRU, maybe for a little bit older kids though (we were looking for niece who is turning 4 and got something else)- the one we saw had barcode stickers you could put on stuff to make it work with the register. Good luck!
  24. JCPenney and Sears both have them with the "deep pocket" for the pillowtop bed- I have two sets from JCPenney when they were having a b1g1 sale, and one set from sears that came with a comforter set- no probs with any
  25. Thanks regnilc- I ordered it even though it was twice as much with shipping =) It is hard to find project type things for my soon to be teenager that he wont think are dorky! Maybe I am just having a bad day, but I am still mad at Scientificsonline for their crappy customer service.
