some (only a few select things) were marked clearance in school supplies at my Target yesterday- mostly pencils and pens and stuff like that, not paper or anything yet

BTW- the salesperson saying the marked price is as low as they can go- I have never gone to Lowe's where they wouldn't go lower- maybe that person was new? Lowe's negotiates more than anyone else in my experience- and now that I think about it we were there on a Saturday afternoon when it was super busy and lots of people looking and they still negotiated.

Honestly, I don't know how my husband does it- I am usually ready to walk away! But he just does not give up. He will come up with something like "well, there is a pretty big dent over here, and this is wrong here, and I will pay this for it but no more". He will ask like 5 different people until he gets the answer he wants also. (the .01 cupboards we got at Home Depot took quite a few people and two managers) Our salesman actually did have to call someone too, my husband had told him 600 I think and the salesman said 650 and we said fine. I think sometimes it is the luck of the draw on who you get and how bad they want to get rid of them. Maybe you could go back at a different time of day when different people are working. I agree with the coupon thing too- Lowe's is huge on taking other people's coupons- Sears has appliance deals a lot too- maybe check for coupons for them. Good luck! =)

actually, our store did have some front load washer and dryers, some were colors, I think I saw beige and marroon maybe? I cant remember brands or anything though since we were really shopping for a fridge. You might give it a shot, I think all the Lowe's will probably have different stuff- maybe one you want got dinged =)

has anyone seen the "garden center" clearanced yet? It is made out of the same stuff as the deck boxes, usually in the aisle with them, but is like a sink/shelf on wheels type thing to use for your outdoor gardening?

Lowe's is having their appliance clearance sale (the salesman said most stores are closing out year-end and floor models and scratch and dent). Plus free delivery and haul away after rebate (I think it is $79 or so, you get the rebate on a Visa debit card type thing) A couple of days ago we got a new GE side by side fridge (ice maker, fun digital stuff on the door) 25.4 cf, originally $1298, marked $868, hubby talked salesman down to $580 + 70 for the two year extended warranty (gotta get this on the scratch and dent to be safe), then when cust serv rang us up they gave us another 10% off for opening a new lowe's acct (they wont all do this on clearance merch but our csr did- had to get a manager involved), and to top it off our receipt printed another rebate for our model to send in for $100 rebate! Yay! They also had washers, dryers, dishwashers, over-range microwaves, etc. I think the selection will vary depending upon location. Always ask how much more they can take off at Lowe's- they are more willing to work with you than any place else we go!

so, got an email from paypal that the seller has now agreed to refund if I send them back, but have to be there by the 24th (all the way across the country). So I priority mailed it with insurance and delivery confirmation- $19!!! Oh well, I guess I will have to eat that, but that kind of stinks since I am returning because the product is broken, not that I just changed my mind or something

I bought speakers for my husbands motorcycle last month for our anniversary from a seller on Ebay. The speakers arrived and do not work correctly- they are staticky and distorted and sound terrible. The previous speakers did not sound like this, my husband just wanted nicer ones. So I contacted the seller about it and asked them to call my husband and speak to him about it. Of course, they told me to email a different person (their parts guy). So I did. He proceeds to tell me that out of thousands of pairs of these speakers they have only had 3 problems ever. Okay, well, that is still 3 problems. Then they tell me to check the compatibility of my stereo- which is a stock Harley-Davidson stereo- you cannot get any more compatible than that. Now they will not respond to me. So I put in a dispute that I will return the speakers and I want a refund. The seller had the gall to up it to a claim and wants Paypal to decide the outcome! Hello- speakers don't work!!! I even offered in the beginning to exchange them, didnt even ask for a refund. This is so ridiculous. I forgot to add- I am supposed to return the speakers within 10 days now, but I still might not get my $$ back depending on the outcome of the Paypal investigation?

Has anybody seen tents and camping stuff on clearance yet? Need a tent for Sturgis so don't want to spend a whole bunch (we have a camper for most camping trips) but want something decent since we will be there a few days. :)

At our Kohl's yesterday, they had a bunch of big racks sitting in the aisles with stuff piled on them and a sign reading something about "clearance 07/07" so might be a good day to check for new clearance stuff- one in particular had tons of boys jeans =)

I had a problem with this once also with an order of seeds- like 20 packets of seeds that never came. The company I ordered from was very nice though and re-sent the order to me right away. The first order remains lost to this day

got some Cynthia Rowley stuff Saturday (they had lots then) almost nothing left today. Got a DVD tower for my sons room for 75% off but missing tons of parts =( They had lots of them too, guess we got the unlucky one! Got a cool wrapping paper set for 75% off (9.99- so 2.48 or so) Oh yeah, patio sets and stuff like that- no clearance markdowns at all yet at our store.

Anybody remember when they start putting the patio stuff on clearance? I really need a new umbrella, but they are too pricey at regular price

Wow- that stinks- I bought a refurb inspiron last year and immediately got the "blue screen of death" when I turned it on. I called them, and they sent out a replacement right away, but they sent a brand new one with Vista (which would be nice except Vista does not work with my work programs) so I called them back again and they sent me out the correct one. So I am not sure why they are being so uncooperative with you? I did not purchase the at home warranty or anything like that. They did want me to try and uninstall Vista and install the XP on my own during the first replacement but I told them no way because they said they would not support it then. Good luck getting this worked out!

so-so day at Target today. Found some nice clearance razors I had a coupon for but that is about it. They are being weird at my Target- not as much clearance, and they actually went and price checked a can of Alpo today because it was not found- .72, I got three, had a coupon for 1.00 off three, then she forgot to ring it up and actually ran out of the store to get me and have me come back and pay. And to top it off, now I got home and checked my receipt and charged me twice for the big bag of dog food- 18.19! Argh

I am looking for a few new camping items coming up and was wondering if anyone has seen any good sales/deals? I am looking for a new propane lantern (preferably one with the starter), a folding picnic table (with or w/out umbrella), and a large cast iron dutch oven (plain or enamel coated). Other camping stuff sales also- I can always find stuff we need! Thanks!

my hubby is the king of haggling for deals, and if he doesnt get someone that will do something the first time, he calls back until he gets a person that will. I personally do not have the patience for this, but if he wants to, he can go for it =) This has worked especially well with companies like Dish, Directv, phone co, stuff like that
