Scott Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 When our 2009 After Thanksgiving Day ad is finalized and released for print in early November, our Advertising department will be more than happy to supply you with the final, approved copy if you provide us with a timely written request. So have you already started the letter? I'm wondering how many partners would actually provide the final copy if you requested it in writing?
AndreaInNC Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 so I wonder if someone else has leaked the ad then
crazypurgatory Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 So have you already started the letter? I'm wondering how many partners would actually provide the final copy if you requested it in writing?Hurry write them back there is an ace very close to me.They might have 1-2 things I might want to get.

amyers12345 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Hrmm.. freebies at the door! I wonder if this might just be a trend?
Brad Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 this ad is very similar to what they did last year, so i wouldn't read too much into it. they sent the ad direct to us again, so i am going to try and get them to give us some GCs or swag to give away too :) but at least we finally have an ad, lol
brinak2005 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Finally, an ad!!!!!!!! I am so excited, even though I don't have one of these stores around, it's okay cause I know more ads are coming soon!!!
musicalkarasel Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 And that just turned my day around! I'm really glad to see that they are so cooperative.
Deal Grabber Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Woo-Hoo Brad thxs.Its a start...:holiday02
Brad Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 i dont remember anyone predicting HPB, let alone picking the correct date.
pogiporkchop Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I just discovered this store over the weekend and happen to love the place! Anyway, I asked about BF and I was told they would be opening at 6AM though word hasn't been handed down regarding what they'll be offering. For those who are curious, there are only a couple of locations: 2 in MI (Grand Rapids and Monroe), with a 3rd opening soon in Flint; and one in OH (Niles). Has anyone else ever been shopping here?
bigjimslade Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Half Price Books has always been a stand up company. The calender is well with spending money to get it. They have 15% off coupons in the calender that can be used year around. If anyone is ever in Dallas it is worth the trip to visit the flagship store off of Northwest Highway.
tn20 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Yea, the first ad! I've never even heard of HPB before, but I'm going to check and see if there are any in the area I'll be in. If so, I'll stop by and give them some business on BF!
conj Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 well... as Brad says... they were not nasty, just point of fact. I think they should get more upset with their team members who release the info than with the site for posting them... but they do go hand in hand.
HansieDZ Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 this ad is very similar to what they did last year, so i wouldn't read too much into it. they sent the ad direct to us again, so i am going to try and get them to give us some GCs or swag to give away too :) but at least we finally have an ad, lolAWESOME! Let the 2009 BF Madness begin!
conj Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Yay! I wish there was one near me. I stopped at one while on a business trip, because I remembered you all discussing it on GD. I spent some good cash, and most of the presents I brought home that trip were books.
wx4svr Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If one ad is in... that means the others can't be far behind.
jillandjustin Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 No stores in CT Stinks, since they offer 20% off to teachers.
babymains Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 A AD HECK YES! I know the owner of half priced books. My parents bought college text books there when they started. The owner is the store santa you get pictures with at the main Dallas location (northwest hwy by medallion center) He is a wonderful man and his wife is lovely.
3 boys Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Yeah HPB! Love this place Love the calender {totally worth the money if you frequently shop there) This was one of my "early" stops last year, got the tote w\GC and this year the store is new and bigger.
Brad Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 HPB, in addition to sending us their ad early, is sending us a gift card and tote bag to give away on the site, so look for that giveaway in the coming weeks
kellane26 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Half Price Books is awesome! Too bad I don't have one nearby or I'd definitely check them out. Let the season begin!!
kayray Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I think this must vary by store. We have purchased many major items from our local store and had a great experience both with original purchase, and also any warranty work.
rockpzazz Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I remember when this happened last year. It was a major issue because it was leaked for about 2-3 weeks I think before they actually sent it out last year. The final ad wasn't too different then the first, but I guess they don't want to be the one whose ad is always leaked first.
shopping4my3son Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Just saw an ad on TV that the Toy Catalog will come out this coming weekend and that Toyland opens up on 10/17.
BrotherFlounder Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) AAAARGH! Please open a store in Florida, HPB! Edited October 9, 2009 by BrotherFlounder
cpnstacker Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 This is my first visit here. Love HPB and plan to be at the door when they open (and I never go out shopping on BF!). Thanks so much for sharing this.
freesia39 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Open one on this side of the Bay Area! (one can hope...)
