  1. I started by ordering a pair of the $20 boots from JCP for pick-up in store today. That was this morning, and I haven't gotten a message saying my order is ready yet (suppose to take less than 4 hours, according to the email). I'm hoping the boots don't get sold tomorrow and I end up with a cancelled order. Then, I grabbed a copy of Incredibles 2 at Wal-Mart for $15. Next, a copy of Forza 4 for XBox One at Best Buy for $30. Then, Solo for $17, Christopher Robin for $18, Jurassic World 2 for $10, and Paddington 2 for $6 at Best Buy. Waiting for Target and hoping to get Peter Rabbit for $6, Ninjago for $6, Smurfs for $4. Other than this, I am planning on a few movies and some cheap towels at Wal-Mart tomorrow evening, wrapping paper at Rite Aid, fleece at JoAnn's on Saturday, and then I am done with Black Friday.
  2. For the last several years, I have been able to get some of the movies online, but not all of them I am looking for. I don't know if they are all there at some point, but sell out before I can get them, or if they just put some of the titles online. Who knows what they will do this year, though.
  3. I actually see a couple of things to pick up. Maybe a few of the 50% off ornaments. Check out the toy and lego sales. Bogo Command hooks (I have recently run out of the ones I bought last BF). Check out the Bogo50% on crafts... I am coordinating an Angel Tree party at my church this year and need activities for 40 kids. Maybe grab an Old Spice Holiday set for each of my teenage sons. Probably grab some $1 Coke 2 liters for Thanksgiving.
  4. I don't see much in any of the ads this year. I think it is a combination of me just not needing much and the ads being a bit light on deals. 90% of the stuff seems the same as every other year. That has probably been the case for years, but I do feel rather disappointed by it anyway. I thought for sure there would be good prices on Solo, Incredibles 2, and Christopher Robin, but unless I missed something there isn't. I nearly always buy a newer release Disney movie or two (Bluray with digital copy) for $10 on BF. I'm glad I started buying gifts a couple of months ago and am nearly done.
  5. Can you do things like homemade fried fish (dipped in a wet batter) in this? I hate the hassle of using a deep fryer, but there are a few things like fried fish and zucchini that my family loves... I would make it more than a couple times a year if something like this worked well. It seems like most of the reviews I read talk about reheating already cooked frozen items, not items from scratch.

    12 Days of Socks

Thanks for posting that they were in stock! I haven't checked in days now, but I got mine ordered (not HP, I got the cute woodland creatures one). I'm so glad they are doing these again this year.... $14.25 with a Red Card. Great deal!
  7. My list for Target is pretty small. I will get Forza 4 for $35 if no one else beats the price. I ordered Madden 19 already from Wal-Mart for the same price, so that is off the list. Other than that, I think I might pick up a couple of the cheap movies (thinking Jurassic World 2, Peter Rabbit, maybe Transylvania 3). I was hoping for a deal on Incredibles 2, Solo, and Christopher Robin with digital copies..
  8. Look into DirectvNow, also. They usually have some sort of deal for new subscribers (right now, I have their lowest package, which includes Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, for $10 for my first three months.. Then it goes up to $40 a month, I think). It also includes a 20 hour dvr and some On Demand content. It has quite a few channels. Did anyone watch the new movie Saturday... Christmas at Pemberley Manor? What did you think?
  9. Freesia39's cookies are delicious! I made them without glaze, with 1/2 tsp of orange extract instead of the orange zest, and with blueberry flavored Craisins. SO good! I will definitely make these again!
  10. This year I plan to decorate either the Sunday before Thanksgiving (if we do Thanksgiving at my grandparents' house) because we are having a joint birthday party for 3 of our 4 boys the Saturday before and I don't want the house to be decorated then. If we are having Thanksgiving at our house, then I will decorate the weekend after. This is our first year with a fake main tree (real trees have really started bothering some of my family's allergies, so we decided it was time to switch). I was feeling down about missing the whole experience of cutting our own tree, but then my husband suggested we get a real one for our front porch, so I am excited about that! I I have already started with Christmas crafts, even though I haven't even decorated for fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving yet. I should probably get that done this weekend!
  11. Mele Kalikimaka "When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God."
  12. Thanks! Unfortunately, we don't have a Menards here and it looks like shipping kills the deal. I'll have to see if I can find something comparable elsewhere.
  13. On Christmas morning,it is generally just my immediate family (DH, myself, our 4 boys, ranging from 2-16 years old). I wrap each kid's gifts in their own specific wrapping paper and leave them under the tree. Stockings are a free for all, but actual gifts are opened one at a time, with each kid getting to open 1 present an hour. We have found this to be nice because it gives time for them to actually enjoy and explore each gift. Instead of opening a gift, putting it aside and moving on, they unwrap a gift, it is taken out of its packaging, assembled if needed, and played with. Plus, it extends the excitement of opening gifts... Instead of it all being over in a whirlwind, they get to hang on to the excitement for several hours.
  14. It's a Wonderful Life. Oops.. I missed favorite movie. This isn't my favorite by any means, but I was trying to think of a line that might be a bit of a challenge. "As odd as it sounds, I didn't think to ask the butcher where the chocolate was! "
  15. Darn... I was hoping they would have a sale on some of their little flashlights. My two youngest boys love playing with flashlights and they particularly like the little triangle shaped ones from Harbor Freight. My husband always has a list a mile long of tools he needs, but he is a millwright and needs his tools to be a bit sturdier than most of the stuff Harbor Freight offers.
  16. Warning: Mine is nasty! A couple of years ago, Wal-Mart had these sets of 2 large plastic trucks for kids for something like $20. Quite a few were selling at our store and I grabbed one up. My teenage son was with me and we noticed there was an awful smell that we could not escape. It smelled like vomit. We finally realized it was coming from the package of trucks we had grabbed. We decided to exchange it for another pack, so we went back to the pallet and they were all covered in splatters of what I assume was vomit. We ended up finding a separate pile of them that were clean, but while I didn't see it happen, presumably someone hit the Thanksgiving dinner too hard, lost their meal on the toys, and then either no one noticed it or at least no one told a WM employee, leaving dozens of parents to buy vomit splattered toys for their children.
  17. Unlikely, but my dream item would be an excellent deal on a leather sofa-love seat combo with 4 reclining seats. Other than that, I need deals ($30 or less) on Madden 19 and the most recent Forza for Xbox One, and an Alejandro Villaneueva (sp?) jersey (hoping for $60 or less).
  18. Our budget for Christmas this year is probably $1300. It has to cover my 4 boys (16,12,4,2), hubby and myself (we will probably only spend $25 each on a couple of little stocking stuffers), our parents, siblings, grandparents, nieces and nephews, a few of our aunts and uncles... Thankfully, the gifts we exchange with the adults are typically small and homemade (I usually spend $200 on baking supplies and it covers most of the extended family). So, about $1100 for 15 people (9 of them are children).
  19. I finally got through... I think! I have an order confirmation number. I had to check out as a guest, though... It wouldn't let me sign in to my account. ETA: Got email confirmation.
  20. I keep timing out during the processing your order bit after hitting place your order. I have a bad feeling that my order is going to finally go through... about a dozen times.
  21. I bought some Learning Resources play food sets for a better price than I have seen them before. They are great quality and will go perfectly with the kitchen set my youngest is getting for Christmas. I also picked up the action figure set of PJ Masks. I think it ended up being $18.75, which is decent, I suppose. Although it is crazy how much those sets go for... Last year it was a "deal" when I found a Paw Patrol set for around $25 or $30. And why do my kids suddenly switch favorites soon before Christmas after I spent months stalking and buying old, no longer made toys for a decent price?
  22. I noticed that when putting together an order last night. Several things that I was going to add to my order just to check off my list were listed as a higher price with a lower in store price displayed below. Well, joke's on them because now I will pick those items up at other stores instead of going to Walmart to get them.
  23. I hope they actually do a video game and movie calendar like they have in the past. I used to get a bunch of that stuff at Amazon, but when it changed last year (?), it made it too difficult to find and track the deals, so I went elsewhere. I haven't even bothered renewing Prime yet.
  24. Ah, lots of cheap fabric for me to hoard. I mean, purchase for specific sewing projects that are necessary for my family and save us lots of money. (<-- What I tell my hubby.)
  25. Apparently you didn't look at the Walgreens ad.. I'm interested in the 40 pk of Thomas mini trains for $29.99. I hope I can get them online; nearest TRU is over an hour away.
