They might it was probably the last gen stuff, if you did the pre order for the new firetv stick then you could get one for like $10.

One opened by us 6+ months ago. Reminded me of a lower end Big Lots, lot of the same type of stuff but the store wasn't as big or laid out as well. Only went in there the one time.

I am guilty of the movies thing. Still have a bunch not opened. On the bright side though we travel a lot and we take a lot of them with us to watch on the road.

For someone who has a large house or someone looking to dip their toes into the Smart Home pool. I am thinking this is something I need. https://www.amazon.com/Ring-Doorbell-Existing-Wiring-Required/dp/B01DM6BDA4/ref=sr_1_5?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1508249033&sr=1-5&keywords=ring+doorbell

I think if you can get one of the new AMD APU based machines then it should be ok for mid level gaming. Now you aren't going to run any of the new AAA titles with all the features turned on high at anything close to acceptable frame rates. I think she should be able to find something in the price range needed but as stated this will not be a powerhouse machine and as you stated there will be no discreet video, though AMD's APU is very much acceptable now.

Every one of them around me is gone.

Depending on which service is used, usually you just sign up for an account and then a link is sent out that you click on for the broadcast. Once there it will usually launch within the browser or install a client. Pretty easy for the most part.

Ya I hear you there. I would guess the one near me is probably already setting up now. I will be in there one day this week to pick up camping supplies for the weekend so I will have to make sure I venture over that way. I'm in the metro Detroit area (Sterling Heights/Clinton Twp is the store I go to the most).

Excellent, thank you for the feedback. I think I am going to have to get one.

I think this is perfect for the person who is really into making new things and trying new designs. https://www.amazon.com/FlashForge-3D-Printers-New-Model/dp/B016R9E7J2/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1508171077&sr=1-4&keywords=3d+printer

Yes it became a shell of what it once was, I still think had thy got the right people in to run it they could have turned things around and made a go of it.

Congrats everyone

That's a bummer. I make sure that I get my wife presents and I also take our daughter so she can pick out things for her that she want's her to have.

I've thought about getting a smart lock for that but I have an issue the seal on my front door requires you to push the door in some in order to lock the dead bolt so that would make a smart lock useless.

I miss Circuit City (which is still supposedly making a comeback) and the old Sears. I used to love walking around sears when I was younger and seeing the new really cool electronics (was introduced to large rear projection TV's by them and stood there ogling it with my friend). Then I would wander over to the appliances and look around then off to the tool/garden departments and think about all the stuff I wanted. Up until it started to become a shell of itself (thanks for that Kmart) we still shopped there often especially when I needed tools and such.

Can't wait for the big ad's to start showing up

I think the best use for the garage door opener portion is when it doesn't close (dd or dw left something in the way) and the door alerts me on the phone that it's still open. I got an alert the other day, wife had bumped a rake and it was in the way and door didn't close and she didn't know it. I went and looked moved the rake and closed the door. Other times it's useful is when you are outside cutting the lawn, garage closes itself (we have it set to close after 15 mins if left open and hold isn't on) and you're cutting the lawn. I pull out the phone open my alarm app and hit Open.

Ya I think they are starting to come down a decent amount. Yields are starting to improve on the panels so hopefully it will keep pushing the prices in the right direction.

Which Meijer? I didn't notice anything when I was in the one near me today but then again I didn't wander around too much, had some things I needed to get and just grabbed those. I know the Home Depot I go to has all their decorations out now.

Funny thing is I think a lot of us do this more for the fact of we have done it forever. I can do all our shopping online in the middle of the night while working on the site here and get everything. BUT I only get the things I know I will miss because we don't go out on Thanksgiving. We still leave a lot of it and head out at our normal time and follow same traditions we have for many years now.

The only plan we have that we stick to for the season is to plan on still be wrapping stuff on the day.

Which one did you get? I have been thinking about getting the one that's fairly skinny as the doorbell on our house is placed between the door and the side light window. Not a lot of space and the other ones seem to be fairly wide.

I have been adding SMART home features. I have an alarm system I installed from Alarm dot com and it's Z Wave based. I have added a garage door controller, I can remotely open and close that, it will alert me via SMS if my door is open more than a set amount of time. I have also added Z Wave light bulbs and switches lately so I can turn lights on and off remotely using the app. I just added in the last month an Ecobee Thermostat which I LOVE, I got a couple of extra remote sensors for it so I can have the system monitor various rooms and turn on/off based on the temp in those rooms also. The Ecobee is homekit enabled so I can ask Siri what my house temperature is and also have her adjust it. My alarm system is supposedly adding Homekit to it at some point so I will be able to fully control that also. I will keep adding new things over time until I eventually have everything remotely controlled. I don't have the home assistant thing at this point though I have thought about an Echo at some point. I'm just not sure I want something listening to every word said in my house lol.

Ya Brad make me an admin so that abently can reward me with it.

They kick off some heat when running also, so maybe you can save some money on heating during the winter. I agree totally worth it.
