  1. Very true, my guess is they try to keep it limited edition again. All the nostalgia, I read last week Atari is designing a new console again, supposed to be a mix of new and old school games. Not a lot of info on it or when it will be out though.
  2. Hopefully you are all caught up on sleep now Brad
  3. I'm not sure if I should cheer you or boo you here. CONFLICT My savings side says YES great deal. My born in Detroit, Lions fan side says BOOOO Packers
  4. Ya I'm sort of wondering what the next hot thing will be. I am sure we will start hearing about it soon enough.
  5. We bought a few things. Nothing special though.
  6. We bought the DBPOWER 10.5 Portable DVD Player on Amazon last year. It's about $80 but had really good reviews. We've had it over a year now and our daughter uses it all the time when we travel and it's held up really well. Works great, battery in it lasts a good amount of time and the screen is actually pretty nice looking (HUGE improvement over the one it replaced). Not sure of your budget but this one has been great.
  7. To be honest the last time I tried to PM at Walmart is was such a pain in the butt that I didn't try again. I just started getting it from where it was on sale.
  8. I think the large issue with both Kmart and Sears has been their inability to update their stores. I would venture to say that many of them look as if they haven't been updated since the 70's/80's. Sears wasn't as bad but Kmart started looking flat out trashy. You want to compete with Target and Walmart then update your stores inside and out. We used to have a Walmart that was really old looking and dumpy near us, we rarely went there and it was never super busy, they built a new one and closed that one. Once the new one opened the store (just down the street) was/is always busy now. Kmart that was in the same area they ended up just closing the place down and it eventually ended up becoming some type of gym. I really wish someone with some decent sense of retail trends and such would buy them out and save both of the stores. Many say oh Amazon and online are killing them, while it may be taking sales away Walmart and Target aren't closing hundreds of stores a year, they seem to know how to make it work.
  9. At some point we should start hearing what this years craze is. Hopefully we find out early and get it lol.
  10. That's pretty cool. I wonder if they will have VR fights and making off with others products.
  11. We start making our list of who we are buying for and it's usually decided by the extended family what we are going to spend. Once that's all done I just stalk here waiting for the ad's to leak forth.
  12. I really wish someone would buy Sears and turn it back into something good. I loved the craftsman brand, we used to buy a lot of things at Sears when they had a good variety. Once Kmart bought them they seemed to stop upkeep and modernization of the stores (much like Kmart itself) and things went downhill from there (at least in my eyes). I liked that I could go into the store and buy clothes, tools, lawn equipment, decorations, appliances, electronics and so forth. I say this from the standpoint of I HAVE bought all of these things from them. While I love and use Amazon a lot I don't but things I feel the need to touch and see from them I do to brick and mortar stores for those. My choices are becoming more and more limited as time goes on.
  13. Well in the worst of that situation you just go to the stores you normally do lol. We shall be here as long as Brad allows us to be here. I'm too much a creature of habit for some things to do anything else.
  14. We have been doing eh on our goals. We both have some in our savings account and are trying not to touch that. Something always seems to come up (unexpected bill or trip or some such thing) which stops from putting as much away as we want. Story of all our lives probably lol
  15. If I could just figure out how to not have a house payment things would be awesome lol.
  16. Ya I look at what we spend going out to eat and I wince. I try to avoid the reality of that as much as possible. I have been telling my wife we need to stop eating out so much and cook more often and then we both get off work and have no desire to cook anything.
  17. But the more you bring in the more you can sell so the more you will have for the next year lol. We are doing the same, we have a donate and a sell box we are loading up.
  18. I wonder when the first one will be leaked. You have to figure they are already working on them.
  19. I wish I had a Christmas Club account that I could pull some of my check to right away. Would make it easier.
  20. I'm here Counting down the days until the fun begins again.
  21. I keep checking back here hoping to see a bunch of new threads and responses.
  22. Hope they don't kill the warranty of it. I think spreading the craftsman brand to other stores will help it out though. Article I read (not WSJ as they block most of the article unless i sign in) said that the deal gives Stanley the rights to sell at stores outside of Sears/Kmart. Odd wording. Did they just buy all of craftsman including the manufacturing and such or did they buy rights to it? Either way it goes it says Sears bought Craftsman for $500 in 1927 and just sold these rights for $900 Million plus a percentage of sales of the items. Sounds like a good investment to me. I think they should kill Kmart off and try to revive Sears itself.
  23. I heard there will be a lot of store closing for traditional retailers this year even though it was the most successful shopping year in a long time. Article I read said a lot of the stores will end up remaking themselves to add things you just can't get from places like Amazon (they used an example of trying out a treadmill). Was a pretty interesting article all in all. I honestly don't care much about K-Mart, so many have closed and the ones that remain open look like they haven't been updated since the 80's. You want your store to be a success why do you try making them look nicer. Now as for Sears that will make me sad if they go away. I have bought many things from them over the years and still tend to wander in there for tools (especially when they have a good craftsman sale).
  24. Can't wait for the next one to roll around
  25. That's insane. $200 for a $60 console. There is an old saying that fit's this
