I should clarify - it powers on when plugged in but something has gotten corrupted (I think) that doesn't allow it to boot up unless in safe mode, no matter what else I've tried. It may require "format C:" to truly get anywhere, though with the shot battery, it's one of those "do I truly want to fight that hard to get it fully functional again?" with the answer being, "no, not really".
Sounds like a bad windows update. Fixed plenty of those over the years. You also boot to sag mode with networking to get files off if you want.

When you've got Reed Timmer and friends roaming in the Cincy area, you know it can't be good. Stay safe, buddy to the south of me.
April is my bday month, so the emails have started rolling in with my bday offers. Looking forward to taking advantage of at least some of them, one of them being a free meal up in Frankenmuth! Yum yum yum! Totally worth the drive, especially if I make a full day of it and hit up the Cheese Haus as well! (Yep, I'm part mouse, for sure. LOL)
Started the month with the April Fools joke of my personal laptop having croaked (battery completely shot, doesn't even want to boot up when plugged in but its also several years old, so...?). Oof... Sooooo did a little digging around since I needed a quick replacement. Found myself a gaming laptop with likely more capability that I'll ever need but for same prices as other ones I was looking at with far less. Difference? It was rated "Open Box - Excellent", so not quite brand new. Just about cut its price in half. Worth it. Set that up last night and I'll deal with trying to get the older laptop working enough to pull data later. Thankfully, I back up to an external hard drive, so I don't think there's much on there I don't already have saved, especially if it was at all important, but I'd like to try to look at least. LOL
Don't know if you can remove the battery but sometimes that helps. Also try just holding down the power button for up to 60 seconds to see if it will force on. I don't know the make/model but sometimes there are reset type thing you can do to get them to come back up.

My wife goes there for Fabric, but she always gets the stuff on sale due to high prices.

Happy March! Looking forward to the start of Daylight Savings Time on the 10th.
I wish they would just pick a time and stick with it. Hate this swapping back and forth.
Can’t believe it’s March already.

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been around. Just checking in. As many of you know Mom is been ill since the holidays with a fib. Unfortunately After battling for over 2 months Her body just couldn't take it anymore. She passed a couple of weeks ago. Just starting to get caught up on things now. Will get secret Santa gifts out shortly.
So sorry for your loss.

Pretty sure the one near us will close, i think that may be a fact if the mall itself is going to be mostly torn down and turned into some giant neighborhood.

I honestly finding ourselves buying online less and less. We will order online from brick and mortars for store pickup though.

Saturday marked a year since I signed the papers on my house. Can't believe I've officially been a homeowner that long already. Granted, I didn't actually move in to my house till March (number of factors there) but still neat to think I've officially made it through year one.
Crazy, has gone by really fast.

Ah the joys of being a homeowner... Been out shoveling the last couple days to make sure my walks are safe for me and anyone else that may be out walking. At least I have a couple good snow shovels the previous owners left for me. Win.
I’ve run the snow blower a few times here. Makes me wish I had bought the bigger one and got a self propelled one lol. Tried to be nice and do at least the sidewalks for my two neighbors while I was out there.

Super cold here. Wife’s school had a cold day today and then tomorrow she is off again and my daughters school is closed also.
With windchill it’s supposed to be like -22 tomorrow.

Greetings 2024. You best be better than your predecessor.
To kick things off this year, my spinal surgeon is giving me a special New Year's present. Two surgeries, ALIF and LSF, to help fix the issues I've been dealing with in the lower part of my spine. Also going to move a nerve that's being pinched and causing my sciatica down my leg. Therefore, I'll be down and out for a while in the hospital, then likely in a spinal rehab facility.
But the good news is I'll have my brand new laptop I got for Christmas! I'll be able to Duo and Facetime all my friends and family. And I'll still be around the internet here and there.2024 is coming in with a blast!
At least it’s a blast that can come with some relief for you.

And apparently we're going out for Chinese for dinner that day? Maybe one of these days Dad will actually let me cook for him...? Ah well... At least the weather forecast for Christmas looks like making the drive to said restaurant won't be overly difficult. (Basically equates to meeting halfway between our homes)
It could be the year you’re introduced to Chinese turkey (one of my fave movies quote)

Crazy that Christmas Day is one week from today.

I live by myself. I have no kids, only furkids. Only Dad nearby and he doesn't spend the night here (since he does live close). As such, my SS gift is the only gift I have to open on Christmas morning. Makes it far easier for me to wait, knowing that's the only gift I'll have waiting for me first thing Christmas morning (Dad and I get together and exchange gifts later in the day).
Should buy yourself some stuff and wrap it.

We are baking on the 22nd so that all the stuff isn't sitting around for us to pick at and eat.
