I’m so sick of winter. The cold and snow. Where was it at Christmas?

In the Low 30's here today again and there were flurries when we went to get our daughter from staying at a friends last night (they are off school this week). Week or so ago we hit 80 one day, needless to say we have ALL been sick.

🤣🤣I feel like they may go the way of Big Lots and not do much reduction. I'm out of town but have a couple slow days to get stuff done and decided to hit the Party City's in the area hoping for amazing deals.  At the register for Party City I overhear a lady talking about Joann's had AT MOST 20% off. I HAD considered walking over but decided against it since I'd already blown entirely too much time at the mall. The one Party City had more stuff and better discounts while the other was more picked through and had less discounts. The one back home had better costume selection and for $4 whereas here they were a flat 80% off. I may stop by one tomorrow in Orlando assuming I wake up early and have the full day to peruse.

Ya I sort of feel they will just move stuff to other stores. A lot of these closeout deals I see is they bring in stuff they never carried and the stuff you want is already gone somehow.

Do it. Plenty to do that does not involve gambling, and I actually enjoy going in the summer when it's 110 - the heat is dry and there's WAY less people.

Ya last couple of times I’ve been there was mid summer. Stupid hot out. Still had a lot of fun.

Yes. SOOOOO many people don't realize just how much you can do in Vegas without it involving gambling (or drinking, as our group chooses not to partake of alcohol). There are so many interesting things to do, including some that we -still- haven't gotten around to (like the Neon Boneyard/Museum) that are truly worth the time if you enjoy those kinds of things.

For an aquarium lover like me, Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef is a must visit every trip, for example. 🙂

We will gamble some but I enjoy a lot of the other things like shows and just getting out and seeing things.

I’ve only been twice and it’s been a good amount of time since the last time I was there.

    Happy February, y'all!

Some might recall I got rear-ended right before Thanksgiving (can't remember who all I told at this point). Well, I decided to not go the insurance claim route for a number of reasons. Instead, I am using a trusted small business auto repair shop (owner's name was given to me by both my dad and my insurance agent - though they don't know one another, so had no way of knowing they were recommending the same person to me - ha!). Since my car was drivable with the damage, I had the flexibility to wait until he could accommodate the needed work in his schedule. Well, the time has finally arrived! My car is in his capable hands as of this past Saturday morning and he expects to have the work done before the weekend. Good stuff. I am excited to have Blue (as I call her) back in one piece and looking good again soon.

In other news, I am counting down to the annual Vegas run, coming up here in about a month or so. We've got all of our travel arrangements booked and can't wait to get back out that way for our first race trip of the year. That also means it'll be cookie baking time again soon for my pit crew buddies. Good times. Typically when we go out that way, we take one day for a "field trip" that alternates between the south rim of the Grand Canyon and the greater LA area. This year would have been an LA year but, with the recent fires and resulting devastation, we're heading back to the canyon. We know we'll enjoy it and the last thing we want to do is be in anyone's way or end up in a bad spot ourselves by trekking anywhere near the fire ravaged areas there in CA. 🥺💔

How long do you normally go for?

I bought the deer! I had told myself if they still had them after Christmas when they are half off, I could have one. And just for grins, I checked to see if they still had any, figuring they were sold out. They have ONE left at my local store. And it’s already marked half off!
I’m gonna have to move a chair out of the living room next year, and my dog is going to HATE him. But I bought the deer! 😁

Dog probably thinks it’s a replacement lol

I've thought about them but my issue is their "zoomie" sessions when they're not paying attention to where they're going or what they're knocking over while they're chasing each other around. Hence, Wallflowers. Safest and no cleanup involved, as they can't knock them out of the outlets I put them in.

    They say Challenge Accepted 🤣

Some of the candle scents they have make me wish I didn't have two klutzy cats I don't dare trust around open flames... LOL

I make do with Wallflowers. Maybe the next fuzzles in my house will be more graceful and I can enjoy the candles that have long been packed away once again.

Have you tried those candle warmer things? Supposedly a safer alternative for traditional candles than lighting them. We use Wax Melts.
