Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
nikkilugi replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I went to the Target closest to me (S. Olathe) at 9:30 and toys were marked down already. My total ended up being $140+. I told my son when we left - that's it I'm not going to another Targer, LOL. Then 5 minutes later I say "well since it is too early to go to lunch let's just head down the road to this other Target". We then went to the Stanley Target and I spent another $140 on completely different toys, LOL. Crazy but I was also buying toys for my family to give to my kids. My grandma lives on only her Social Security so I am determined to help her get some good toys for my kids instead of the generic stuff she usually gets them. We really don't mind the generic but it just doesn't last as long - it is cheaper made I guess. I really am staying away from the rest of the Targets. I just don't have any more moolah. -
Has anyone heard of the new Barbie Winter House

Don't you hate that, LOL. My kids see commercials all the time and come and tell me about what they see and they are just babbling about it. It drove me nuts last Christmas trying to figure out what truck my younger son kept talking about. I could never catch the commercial to find out. -

KC area shoppers I would appreciate a heads up when you get back if the store you went to was 75% off. I know a few stores go on clearance earlier than others but I just can't drag the kids out to each store to check. I am already wondering how I am going to buy toys since I will have to have my kids with me. My dh is out of town and my parents work during the day - oh well I guess I will figure something out. -

That is the only way that I know of. You need to return the table and purchase another one at the 75% off price. If there are no more available to purchase you need to wait until it hits the floor on a restock. You could always go and ask at CS and see what they say though. People are different and you might get a CS person that will let you return and repurchase right then - they aren't supposed to but I have heard that some will do that for you. -

For you KC shoppers I went to the store at Oak Park Mall today and it was 75% off patio and kids summer stuff. They did have about 4 huge fake mango trees for $38 each. They really didn't have any other big patio stuff. I lucked out and got the last wooden arbor and a big topiary. My daughter was begging for the clog at 50% off but I held fast and sure enough I was able to get her a pair today for $3.28 instead. She also got the cute pink kitty hat and a rake to help this fall. They only had the girls rakes and shovels left but my son's didn't care, LOL. One got a shovel and one got a rake :) We also got a lemonade stand for garage sale time this fall. They were thrilled. If anyone notices the pools starting to clearance can you please post a note? I really, really want that 18' x 48'' pool and each of our Target stores only have one on the shelf. Don't know if they have more in the back - but I want to make sure I get one if possible. Thanks! -

I am wondering if the pools go on clearance and when? We bought an easy set pool and my dh loves it and wants a bigger one. Target has an 18' x 48'' pool that he would like but I told him that I didn't want to buy it unless it was on clearance, LOL. FYI - my perimeter perusing puts a cramp in his full price shopping style :) Any input would be appreciated. I don't remember if and when they were put on clearance last year. -

Was there a shooting over at the Ward Parkway store? I don't shop there very often because it is a 30 minute drive for me and I have much closer stores on the Kansas side of the metro, however, my family lives right up the street from the Ward Parkway shopping center. If they mentioned Ward Parkway then that would be the store. Ward Parkway is the shopping center where the Target is anchored. -

I have a Kodak and it takes SD cards. I have to agree with the other poster above. $11 is good but you can find some great deals out there on sd cards - also bigger is better :) I currently have a 2G in my Kodak (which I bought on recommendation from a post on here for $20) and it can store over 1,200 pictures. Will come in handy on vacation when I don't want to unload my camera everynight. -

I agree too. I have always thought that the great deals include using coupons - especially if you can use a coupon for something that is on clearance. The problem with the coupon thread is that nobody uses it. I check for new activity on a regular basis and nada. If we can't discuss it here then it just isn't going to get discussed I guess. Too bad. I guess I am in the minority though because I actually like a little drama and reading this thread always entertained me as well as educated me. -
If you read the fine print on the coupon is specifies that the barcode is exclusively for that coupon only which would lead me to believe that any coupons sent out all had their own individual barcodes. That is my guess anyway after reading the coupon.

Went today for the first time in a couple of weeks. I found some of the Cranium toys for 75% off including the talking picture book, the story recorder, a backpack toy and a mega mask. There were also some fly pen products at 50% off. I spent way too much money. I agree with Supershopper1 - bargain shopping is costing me some bucks, LOL. I would love to find one of the Radio Flyer horses though. My daughter would love one of these so if any of the KC shoppers sees one can you let me know where? Thanks very much. -

Yeah I haven't hid anything so far but I really did want one of these players and this one was pink which was a double bonus. I have constantly missed out because I just seem to be out of the loop on when things get marked 75%. I don't usually know until I read about it on here from one of the other KC gals and by the time they post and I can get out to the store I am usually sol, LOL. I just thought since this store seems to be a bit slower than others (the Oak Park store is the one I'm talking about), I might have a good chance of not having my items found. The player is now sitting in my daughter's easter basket :) My son is getting a little league bat I got for $6.24 earlier and a Lightning McQueen book light which are also Target clearance deals :) -

Went to a couple of Targets today. Got some more lightbulbs - scored 2 $5 gift cards in the process. Most all of the packages were tampered with in some way - most were opened. I now have a very nice stockpile of lightbulbs which will make my hubby happy because that was always something I neglected in the past. I found a very pretty hummingbird feeder for 50% off - so it was $14.98. I went ahead and bought it because I need a new one since my other got broken somehow this winter. I bought an ION game system. It was originally $99 so at 75% off I paid $24.98. I also bought a dora soccer game to go with the system for $4.98. We don't have the Wii yet so I thought my kids would get up and moving with this game and would get a kick out of seeing themselves on TV as well. I also got a pink FP3 player today for $12.49. This player was actually $34.98 exactly 13 days ago. I know because I was carrying around that player deciding what I wanted to do. Well I decided that 30% off was still too steep for me so I hid it. Yes I hid it. I placed it behind some inflatable pools. I figured it was still too early in the season for people to be picking through that isle or for the Target employees to have to clean up the shelves or restock and I was right, LOL. I walked up and took and gander and the player was in exactly the same spot. I had already been through the toy area and all of the remainder of the players were long gone - as were most of the other clearance toys at this store so I wasn't holding out much hope so that was a great surprise today. -

How about calling a couple of Italian restaurants and asking for a gift certificate? If you explain to the manager what the certificate is for they might be happy to donate. Also I would include some sauces in the basket. Also maybe you can find an Italian cookbook or speciality magazine to include. -

Went to Target tonight bought: 75% off stuff: An oscillating heater for $7 and change A fireplace tool set for $6 and change 2 tall candleholders for $2.98 each A bucket seat cover for $4.98 50% off: Songbird food with dried mealworms for $4.98 Woodpecker food for $3.98 200 oz Cheer True fit for $5.48 There were a couple blue fp3 players for 50% off - $24.98. I had one in my basket for my 2 year old but my dh was with me tonight and he thought she wouldn't play with it much. I was hesitant so I put it back. They also had quite a few of the dora carriages for $9.98. I have been watching these and since this store had so many I decided to wait and see if they go to 75% off. -
If you have a Burlington Coat Factory around they have the Baby Depot section with lots of different baby crib sets for really great prices. They have tons to choose from and all are at a discount from the regular retail price. That is actually where I have gotten my crib sets in the past. I go and pick out what I like and my IL's buy it for me. Burlington also has accessories for the sets as well. I know ebay also is a popular option - especially if you are looking for something that is out of production.

I just got back from Target and spent way too much $$, LOL. I got tons of gift bags and tissue at 75% off. I also bought some pens, notebooks for the kids and a bunch of spongebob folders for school next year. Got some of the fuzzy art boards, a paint by numbers set, some Star Wars invites for birthdays, and some of these confetti wands that will make a mess and tick my dh off, LOL - all for 75% off. I found some very cute photo albums but I scrapbook - I am a Creative Memories addict so I didn't bother with any of that stuff. I found a Michael Graves laptop bag 50% off at $14.98 and since I have been needing one I bought it. Also found Rome CivCity for $9.98 (my dh really loves this game so I bought an extra to give as a gift). Also bought the Carnival Cruise Tycoon for $4.98 and the last Myst game for $4.98 as well. Over in toys we picked up a few of the small good luck troll dolls for $1.98, and the fly pen Algebra for $8.48 I think. I did want to mention that last week I bought a beautiful bird feeder for 50% off at a different Target. Ironicly this Target had the same feeder for full price, LOL but they did have some of the feeders on clearance. If you like birds this might be fun to check out. -

It is an expired coupon. Check a couple of pages back towards the bottom of the page and you should see a good link for the expired coupons. The link listed on the coupon thread is not working. -

Yes the price differences are quite different here in Kansas City on certain items. A lot of the difference has to do with demographics and sales numbers. I remember about 7 years ago when I was purchasing infant formula for my older ds I could go to the Target closest to my house and formula was actually $4 more than the Target out by the airport in Kansas City, MO. The airport Target was a very far drive for me but lucky for us my dh was traveling by plane for business about every 2 weeks so I would stock up every time we drove out there. Finally (after about 3 months) though the price evened out more and it wasn't such a good deal anymore. -

I think you just got lucky. I have had to return the item and rebuy - and when I say rebuy I mean I needed to go physically get one from the store - not just rebuy the item I was just returning. Now I just do what was suggested above - I just buy the lower priced item and return it with the higher priced receipt. -

LOL - I saw that too upon further examination tonight. I guess that proves that when I am perusing and I see a great price I just start filling my cart I think the game looks like great fun and will be fun to play - especially through the computer. My boys really only play with the plug and play TV games for about 5 minutes and then they are done but they love playing on the computer so maybe this will work out even better for us. -

I bought a .50 carat weight heart pendant - normally $239.99 for $59.99. It is very pretty and will be a great present for my mom's upcoming birthday - or maybe just a present to myself for my upcoming birthday, LOL. Also found the waffle bowls, bought a cesaer salad dressing for under a dollar, got a frogger tv game for less than $3, a really pretty pair of dangle earrings for $3.74, a women's cherokee watch for $3 something, and Superman digital watches for my kids for $1.74 each. Great trip today. -
It looks to me like the url for the link she posted is through the luvs website.
