  1. Sorry I didn't respond last night - took my daughter to parent/tot swim lessons. Anyway - no the package I bought was over at the Speedway Target. We went to T-Rex for my daughter's 2nd birthday on Wednesday night and of course I had to stop and check that Target out while I was out there :). That might have been the last package on the shelf - although I think there was a Charmin there as well.
  2. Yes there is a seperate thread but when we are talking about a great price at Target especially if you can use a coupon don't you think it should be here too? I mean this thread is about great deals at Target right? You have to admit - free Choxie bars and little bags of chips are great deals. Goldfish for either .33 or .83 is a great deal but these only come with coupons. Also if there is a problem using the coupon then I can understand someone wanting to come to this thread to discuss this with the people we consider friends on this thread - and also to warn others of a potential problem. Just my .02 of course. Personally I don't look at too many of the other threads. I have a few that I am interested in and don't look around otherwise.
  3. Part of getting good deals is using coupons in conjunction with some of the clearance items. This is an aspect of perimeter perusing and shopping at Target. I value all of the posts regarding ALL of the issues of shopping at Target. I get very frustrated when posts are moved or deleted. Last night I also got the 24 regular rolls of Quilted Northern for $3.44. They were on the endcap in the cleaning supplies area. I noticed that at the Target I was at that flashlight were going on clearance. There were some large mag lites that were 30% off. Also there were some smaller kids flashlights that were beginning their clearance run. I think the deals goes in shifts. Right now the big clearance items at the Target I was at last night was: cosmetics - lots of Almay products were 75% off - as well as many other brands, stationary - most of the items we saw last night were 50 - 75% off. I noticed that Juicy Juice was 30% off of the 10 pack juice boxes.
  4. I managed to find 4 curtain panels for my bedroom. I had to search and search down a couple of different aisles and between 3 different endcaps but I finally found them - HA!! They were 75% off too which was even better :) Also got a bath mat for $4.98. Found the Scrapbook software for $9.98 and got my husband a Civ Rome game for 50% off (19.98) which he seems happy about. I wanted to find my mom a grill but of course I was too late for one of those. Hey if any of you KC perusers find one will you please give me a heads up? I would love to buy my parents one if I can find it.
  5. Yes they are. The Target I went to last just had a couple of the pieces on clearance - not all of the components which is one reason why I didn't buy any at the time.
  6. When we price match groceries around here I don't have any problem with them price matching the prices from places that use cards like Price Chopper or Dillons (Kroger). I know they don't price match percentages off or bogo of course but they do price match everything else - again even from the stores where you need a card to get that sale price. In fact the cashiers don't even ask to see the grocery ad when price matching grocery items. I just tell them the price and they do the price adjust. So what I am trying to say is that there is really no reason why they wouldn't price match CVS. If they price match the other card retailers like grocery stores then they should price match all retailers.
  7. I have gotten replacement parts through Leap Frog before and all they charge is the shipping and handling. I needed a new door for my laugh and learn table and they charged $2 to ship it to me.
  8. http://www.gottadeal.com/goto.php?http://coupons.50webs.org/ You can find the thread for the coupons in the coupon subforum. The title of the thread says something about the Target Coupon Generator. Click on the link for the current coupons and you will find the $1 off the archer farms chips everyone is talking about.
  9. The shabby chic was 75% off today. I got my dd a twin sheet set for $7.49 and a quilt for $19.99. I got my ds's flannel sheet sets for $4.98 for twin size. I also got a king 400 ct fitted sheet for $7 something and 2 king pillowcases for $8.74. Tools went on clearance. There was a 14v black and decker cordless drill with free stud finder on clearance for 50% off of $59.99 - $29.98. My mom talked me out of buying this for my dh but it was awfully nice with a case and everything. My mom got my dad an autotape for $9.99 and an auto clamp for $14.98. I bought my dh a 30' tape measure for $7.98, a screwdriver kit for $4.98, and a hacksaw for $4.98 - all 50% off. The hardware stuff didn't even start cheaper at this Target because I check down every aisle when I am there and this is the first time I have even see any clearance signs in that aisle. I also bought a lavender body spray for $1.98, a slim fast shake pack for $3.50. I noticed they had usb flash drives on clearance - I think they are probably on 15 - 30% off. I want a 2gig at least so I passed on these. I also bought 6 choxie bars, 2 bags of archer farms chips, 4 bags of goldfish and 2 little debbie's. The girl at the register didn't give me any problems with the coupons at all. Another thing I noticed is that Target has a pretty good price on some of their cereal. I had a coupon for $1 off of 2 General Mills cereals so I bought a box of Trix and a box of Coco Puffs which are regularly $1.99 each so with my coupon I got them both for $3. Good deal - much better than my grocery store.
  10. Sorry about the break-in. I would say that if the thiefs stole a substantial amount you could contact your homeowner's insurance or your car insurance but it sounds like what they stole is less than the deductible would be so there really isn't any point in contacting them. I agree about ebay. Just watch those shipping prices - factor them into the total price. Another good idea is getting the some certain number off the phone and calling Sprint to make sure you can activate it without a problem. Some phones are flagged when they are lost or stolen just like yours probably was so it can't be activated again. When my dh dropped his Sprint phone in the toilet (don't ask) we bought him another phone on ebay for around $65 with shipping. It was a new model but nothing super trendy, LOL. Also you can open your battery compartment and the serial number will be printed on a sticker on the phone. You don't need the box to have the numbers associated with the phone. We pay for insurance on our phones and it is getting expensive. I just lost my phone the other week and we called to have it replaced - it cost $50 and they sent me a refurbished phone which doesn't work correctly. My dh had to call them back and now they are sending me out another phone which will take another 2-3 days - ugggh.
  11. Oh also there was candy on clearance as well. The discounts weren't great but hey when you want candy it is always good to get it a bit cheaper, LOL.
  12. The GB at the Target closest to my house is so picked over. I bought the last big wooden box (not sure what to call it). It was originally $119. The clasp doesn't go all the way on which is probably why it was still left on the shelf. Really there wasn't much left at all. My Target had a couple of modular craft organizing pieces 50% off. You can stack the pieces up and make a desk. There were dry erase calendars on clearance, a couple of paper shredders, a single letter file cabinet, some stationary like pens, paper clips, and notebooks were also on clearance - although the clearance wasn't over 50% on any of those items. I was in the toy are and there are more toys going on clearance. Pirates of the Carribean toys, spiderman, toy story, transformers to name a few. Right now the toys were only 30% off and most of the clearance toys were boy toys. No juice boxes either. I can never find any - grrr. I also tried to print out coupons up at the registry but the only coupons that were coming up from the website were the new ones - the choxie's and the chip coupons weren't an option for printing.
  13. Thanks so much. I will check next time I am over there. I think I am just too late each time I go :) If I buy juice my kids just keep drinking it so it probably best that I don't find too many anyway. Went to one other Target tonight and managed to remember my coupons. I got the Luv's with the $3 Target coupon and my $3 mfg coupon. I also got 2 choxie bars - they didn't have much selection. Picked up 3 bags of the Archer farms chips. The cashier didn't have any problem taking my coupons - I just gave her full pages without bothering to cut them out and she scanned just the number that I bought. Found just a few misc. items on clearance otherwise. A few children's books and a kindergarten learning set - nothing major.
  14. I don't want to ruin your great deals by butting in but I am in Olathe too and I have checked every Target I go to and can NEVER find the juice 10 packs. What stores are you finding these in? I usually shop at the one out by the hwy in S. Olathe on 154th St. I just bought a couple of hi-c's at full price at Wal-Mart for my son's valentine's party - dang it I wish I could find the cheap juices, LOL.
  15. Found the ps2 eye game for $12.48 today. They only had a couple left. Looked at the Global Bazaar stuff but to tell the truth nothing looks that great to me and even at 50% off the price is too high for me, LOL. I did get a kindergarten ready reader for $1.48 on clearance as well. Also got a double pack of Loreal Preference hair color for $8.48 at 15% off. My dh picked out a very light shade of blonde - I have dark brown hair. I think he is going to be very dissapointed with the results - LOL. I told him if my hair looks awful I am kicking his butt :)
  16. Hey toebaby which store in Indy had that great deal? I have a sister in Indy and wanted to let her know - she is always up for a great deal just like me :)
  17. I think they are slow to discount for sure. While the Target by me was 50% off of toys after Christmas the Speedway store was only 30%. I remember because they had a Butterscotch Pony for $175 when the other stores around here had them for $125. They have had a couple of things though that have been sold out at the other stores - like they had a couple of ipod hi fi systems the other day which have been gone at the other stores I have checked. They don't have their clearance sectioned off like other Targets which I think I like better. It feels more like a treasure hunt. I know what you mean about the Target at Oak Park Mall. I found a foodsaver there last year just sitting on the shelf and I was so pschyed! My dh loved it. It was funny because I had seen one at a garage sale earlier that day and decided not to buy it because they wanted too much and then I found this brand new clearance one :)
  18. I live about 2 miles away from the S. Olathe Target on 154th St. I usually shop at this Target but as I said above the clearance is so picked over there. I can't get out to Target everyday so I am always a day late and a dollar short at that store, LOL. I went to the store over at Legends by the Speedway the other night and found those great deals. That store is slower on the discount schedule. They didn't go to 75% off on toys until a few days later than my S. Olathe store. I was able to go out there and get some of the toys I missed out on at my store. The store at 151st and Antioch in Stanley really is pretty picked over too. I was just there yesterday and they really had nothing in the way of clearance. They had many empty shelves where they moved all of their clearance items and only dust remained. That store gets a lot of traffic I guess. If you need me to keep my eye out for anything for you please let me know.
  19. I saw a white noise machine on clearance at a Target in my area last night. It was in the health and beauty section by the humidifiers.
  20. That's funny because at this Target there were a couple of soccer balls for 3.98 but no volleyballs on clearance - or at least the one volleyball they did have a clearance tag on the shelf was sold out. I am happy because I plan on putting the sports stuff in their Easter baskets.
  21. Some of us "stupid consumers" need to rely on price/cost determinations on where we shop. I can't afford to shop at a more expensive store just because they treat their employees better. I shop strictly where I can get the better deal - period. I don't think that is stupid - it is smart for my household.
  22. Well I went to a Target a little out of my way last night because I was bored (and my closest Target is shopped out) and found some good deals. I found an ESPN Fast Action Football table. The red sticker was marked 75% off at 34.98. I put the code in the scanner just for kicks and it came up as item not found. When I went to pay the casher input the code and got the same message and then she just manually entered the clearance tag price - no questions asked. It was funny because there was actually 2 tags on the box. The first tag was on the front top corner like it had been sitting on an endcap, then the game was moved to a bottom shelf in sporting goods and the 75% sticker was on the side of the box. The cashier first inputted the higher price because that the was tag she saw until I pointed out the lower priced tag :) I also got 2 backpacks for 75% off at $6.49. One was a Jansport Trans and the other was Eddie Bauer. These will be great for my son's next year for school. I think they are getting too old for character backpacks anyway. I got a kids fishing set for $3.49. I think was also a salvaged item because the cashier had to also input the price from the tag on that item too. The set came in a clear backpack and included a telescoping pole, sunglasses, some rubber worms and something else I am forgetting. Got my younger son a size 5 soccer ball - $3.98. Got my older son a Little League Bat - $6.98. Got my DD a Hello Kitty bat and ball set $2.98. All of these items were 75% off. Also picked up the elephant play tent for $6.98 for the kids to play in outside this summer. Also got the Thomas holiday train set for $2.98 - yay! I did find a red wine cooler but there was no clearance sticker on it and when I scanned the box (yes I did schlep it over to a scanner) it came up item not found and I decided it wasn't worth it to try and talk a cashier into giving it to me for a lower price. I didn't need it anyway. I put it back on a lower shelf so it would be easier for some other bargain shopper to grab it. Very good night. I am very happy about the football game. I wanted it when it was 75% off but I was just too slow when the stores went to 75% off here by my house. I have heard that I live near the slowest shopped Target - but it sure doesn't feel that way. Boy the clearance is ravaged at this store - I guess everyone else is just coming to my store to shop clearance which is a bummer for me
  23. I think it is a YMMV thing on the expired coupons. Many of the Targets around here in the metro area WILL take expired coupons. You might want to ask on the coupon generator link on the coupon category. Someone said that the system at Target doesn't catch the expired coupons at all so as long as your cashier isn't examining them they are ok to use.
  24. I have watched QVC as a diversion - especially when I am sick - it is very mind numbing to see those people drone on and on about their products. My MIL bought us a Northern Nights down mattress pad from QVC for Christmas this year. I have found a few QVC products at garage sales, LOL and bought them. I got one of their exclusive Dooney and Burke handbags at a garage sale and it was very nice.
  25. http://coupons.50webs.org/expired.html This coupon expired 1/20/07 and it is for the Archer Farms cheese - $1 off. The SuperTarget at 119th & Strang Line sells this cheese for like $1.50 a bag so you can get a bag for $.50 there with the coupon. The coupon is almost all the way towards the bottom of the page in the right hand column.
