With 12,000 miles per year average driving, here is a chart of some of the best prices I got: Major Guard – Best Term months/miles Coverage Through $200 deductible $100 deductible $0 deductible End Date End Miles 36/36,000 Mar 4, 2011 71,350 $1,137 $1,285 $1,484 48/48,000 Mar 4, 2012 83,350 $1,612 $1,887 $2,259 60/60,000 Mar 4, 2013 95,350 $2,637 $3,198 $3,947 72/72,000 Mar 4, 2014 107,350 $3,131 $3,820 $4,753 Value Guard – Better Term months/miles Coverage Through $200 deductible $100 deductible $0 deductible End Date End Miles 36/36,000 Mar 4, 2011 71,350 $1,086 $1,178 $1,290 48/48,000 Mar 4, 2012 83,350 $1,515 $1,688 $1,897 60/60,000 Mar 4, 2013 95,350 $2,453 $2,805 $3,223 72/72,000 Mar 4, 2014 107,350 $2,912 $3,341 $3,861 Basic Guard – Good Term months/miles Coverage Through $200 deductible $100 deductible $0 deductible End Date End Miles 36/36,000 Mar 4, 2011 71,350 $918 $954 $1,000 48/48,000 Mar 4, 2012 83,350 $1,214 $1,290 $1,372 60/60,000 Mar 4, 2013 95,350 $1,856 $2,009 $2,178 72/72,000 Mar 4, 2014 107,350 $2,162 $2,351 $2,555 The charts might not show up right, but the one I think I'll choose is Major Guard (exclusionary policy...I'll tell you more about that in a minute) and the 4/48,000 starts from the day I buy the policy, which must be before my original warranty expires (up to 35,999 miles). There are other less expensive plans (value guard and basic guard) but I want a policy similar to my original warranty. It covers even wear and tear. It also includes the roadside assistance. Here is what is NOT included: Non-Covered Parts Sheet metal Body parts, panels and rails Bumpers Chassis frame Cross members Hinges Trim, moldings, and bright metal Paint Rust damage Convertible and vinyl tops Weather-strips Carpet and upholstery Exhaust system and catalytic converter Tires Glass Lenses Sealed Beams Light Bulbs Batteries Brake drums Shock absorbers Squeaks, rattles, wind noise and odors Unless required in connection with a covered part we will not pay for: engine tune-up, suspension alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubricants, engine coolant, drive belts, radiator hoses, heater and vacuum hoses, windshield wiper blades, air conditioning recharging, fluids, spark/glow plugs and wires, brake pads/linings and brake shoes/rotors, manual clutch disc, vehicle manufacturer recommended maintenance services and parts. Every other part is covered! I also want a $0 deductible. If there is a $200 deductible and something breaks every week, that could cost a lot!!! So, when comparing prices, it's very important to consider the deductible. The higher deductible plans are much less expensive. I'm thinking of going with the 4/48 because I probably won't have the vehicle much longer than that and the price increases significantly after that. For the next 4 years, it would be about $550/yr for the plan. For the fifth year, it would cost about $1,700. At that point, my children will be older and I can consider a new rig to cart them all around in.

T-Ball uniforms for a 3 year old??? Help!
Kayakmom replied to akdillard's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Payless? My son and his best friend (girl) both wore these: http://www.payless.com/Catalog/productdetail.aspx?ItemCode=21899&ProductColor=Black&Width=Regular&TLC=Boys&SLC=BoysAthletics&BLC=BoysAthleticsPerformance They come in a size 9.5. Close enough if you can't find anything else, probably. One of of the little girls had really awesome red Nike cleats -- and a couple of boys had them, as well. :) -
I'm pretty positive I want to stick with the GM plan. I just like the fact that it's basically like continuing my current warranty. It covers everything except a small list of things. (Some of which are body panels, bumpers, wind noises, odors, regular maintenance, batteries, etc.) If we bump up one more year to the 60/60,000, the price increases to $3,900. I am not sure I can justify $1,700 for the extra year. The 48/48,000, if I buy it just before my warranty expires, will cover me to 2012 and until just about 84,000 miles (depending how many miles are on the odometer when I buy it). I also think of it like peace of mind. I'm sure if I don't buy it, everything will go wrong.

I have a 2005 Trailblazer EXT and the 3/36,000 warranty will expire in about another month, or 650ish miles. I looked over extended warranty info on the internet and I think the best plan for me is probably the General Motors Protection Plan (GMPP). I'm thinking about getting the 4/4,800 with a $0 deductible. Apparently the retails is about $2485 and the best quote I got was for $2,259. I called my local dealer and he was willing to back out the tax from that amount to match it. One of the online places that supposedly had the best prices wanted over $2600! Craziness! Does anyone have a GMPP plan? Other extended warranty? Thoughts on this deal?

Corningware 9-piece set $14.99 - Amazon.com
Kayakmom replied to kellane26's topic in Online Hot Deals
Thanks! I got one for $9.99. :) -
It was mismarked. In my state, they're required to give it to you for the price displayed. It's not the toilet seat. It's the point of it. She was not asking for 75% off. She was asking for the price on the display, which is completely legitimate.

Right behind you on that one! I can guarantee you that she would have been sorry those words ever emitted from her ignorant mouth! I can picture something along the lines of, "Yes, I did learn to read. Perhaps you haven't. Might I suggest you promtly retrieve a dictionary from the book section of the store and look up the word insolent? It's how I will describe you when I report your actions to corporate tomorrow."
-
I can see a mistake happening, but she should have given it to you for $4.99 and then immediately had an employee remove the incorrect display. Furthermore, she was totally out of line to be so rude!!! I will be anxiously awaiting to hear what happens.

Toys R Us Guitar Hero III Bundle (Wii) $69.99
Kayakmom replied to Crue2001's topic in Online Hot Deals
I called our local TRU and they have it in stock. -
Be careful about doing that with credit cards. It lowers your credit score every time someone does a credit pull, so if you have an interest in keeping a high score, you might want to keep the cards (long-term) that you apply for. This item got a lot of bad reviews but I ordered one to check out. Amazon is good about returns if it's really that bad. I like to change up my comforters a lot, so I figured I'd check it out in khaki. The dark colors seemed to be the worst because the white feathers popping through showed up a lot.

Good luck! I have started browsing Craigslist a lot lately. I left a message tonight about a dining room table with 2 leaves and 6 chairs and then I looked at about 800 house listings.

Select CROCS as low as $14.90 at Nordstrom.com
Kayakmom replied to Fishboysmom's topic in Online Hot Deals
I'm debating those orange boots for ds6. They have them in his size. He soooo loved his orange crocs and wore them until the soles wore off. Right now he's living in his black mammoths. He wears them almost every day. He's a total Crocs fan! -

Guitar Hero for PS3 - Guitar only
Kayakmom replied to nilla's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
There is a wireless Frontman guitar by Nyko for PS3 on pre-release at Gamestop for 3/17/08. I thought I saw in my travels that Pelican is supposed to be coming out with an adaptor in February. -
Target* Magnavox 37" Digital LCD HDTV
Kayakmom replied to money13's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
They also have the 42" (42MF237B) for $798.00. I'll do a quick comparison on that one, as well, since that's the size I'm looking for. Hmmm, I can only find this model at Target. Everywhere else has a 42MF437B. I wonder if this is a store specific TV or if it's a typo??? I'm a little concerned with the feedback on the 37" model and I have to presume that the 42" is going to be similar. While it got high star ratings (4's and 5's), the feedback seems to indicate some audio issues. It seems that the reviewers were able to live with it for the price. I guess the only way you'd know was to read all the feedback you can find and then go into the store and see for yourself. I may do the same. For the price, it does appear to be a good deal. I'm just wondering if I'll be happier to save ~$200 now or have a better quality tv later. I guess I'll consult with hubby when he gets home since he'll be the one playing Xbox on it. He's less picky than I am, lol. -

I got a call from Brooks (Rite Aid) last week to say that my order was in. Funny thing is, I cancelled that order back in December because it was taking so long! I told the girl and she looked and said, "Oh, yeah, they're Christmas cards." Ummm, yeah. Just a little late?

Build a bear kitty is DEAD HELP!
Kayakmom replied to mom2monkiesx3's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
When we went to BAB to make dd20 months her first bear, we took the first bear that DS11 ever made in with us to get him a new outfit. I had lost his birth certificate and they let us make a new one. I somehow remembered that his name was Dumpling! They didn't make that bear anymore - hadn't for a long time - but the store manager recognized him as one of the original bears and found it in the lineup for us. He even got restuffed and fluffed. All of that was free. :) I bought him some new shades and a pleather motorcycle jacket. Ds6 wanted to make a new one that day and he made my first dd's that day. We don't have one around here but when we're near one, dd 7 months will get hers. We need to think about a trip soon. We love that store! I know we can order one online but it's not the same as going there and kissing the heart and doing all of that special stuff. For us, the thrill of the BAB mostly lies in the process of making it.
