  1. What's sad is that so many companies have customer service issues! My mil has a Toshiba and has not had any complaints, but honestly I don't think she uses it very often so I don't think it should count. Jen, do you really want this big monstrosity, lol? The screen is 17", which is considered basically a desktop replacement. That's BIG and HEAVY. It weighs 7.2 pounds. That doesn't sound like a lot but if you are carrying it around and maybe using it on the couch, in bed, etc. it's cumbersome. My hubby had an HP like that and it's not my preference. The 1.9 processor speed is good, though. It's not a bad deal but you can get a comparable or slightly better 15.4 inch brand new for the same price. I would just suggest being patient and picking out the things that are most important to you. Lightweight is fairly high up on my importance list.
  2. I have 13 items in my cart for $47 and I can't decide whether to buy them or not. My girlies already have kind of a lot of clothes - but not a lot of shorts. Hmmm... Use code S2A58 for 15% off.
  3. OK...I tried building the Vostro the same as my other one I built. It was $118 less BUT it had 1GB less memory (not available in same specs) and it had one year less warranty and accident support (not available in same specs). Last, and not leastly important, is that the Vostro is not available in that beautiful purple color. :) Overall, if I had to choose to purchase one of the two I built right now, I'd choose the purdy Inspiron with more memory and longer accidental damage for the extra $118.
  4. I, too, wanted to stick to XP but now that I started using Vista on my work laptop, I'm pretty happy with it, actually. I like lots of the new features. I haven't yet found anything that's a problem. Do you have a link for the Vostro 1500 deal?
  5. Thanks! We already have a few of these from the old free with shipping offers (same price, I think) and free with movie purchases or else I'd get one. Nice deal. :)
  6. Well... some comments here... I personally wouldn't go for the Celeron because I run far too many apps. However, I love the color choices. If I didn't need the processing speed and additional memory, I might just want to get me a cute purple or pink laptop - and pay a little extra for it. I love the color options and, to me, that's worth a price. However, I'm really hard on laptops and when I configured mine (with the accident damage, because we won't even talk about how many I've trashed) it came up closer to $1300. A dual core is simply better for me. For others in my household, the Celeron is perfectly good. A Celeron is absolutely not garbage and I'd argue that with you all day long. You might have a "degree", but I've been using Celerons for about 10 years and never had a problem. HOWEVER, with the applications I run now, a Dual Core works better for me. The average GD member probably does not try to run Quickbooks, Adobe Photoshop, and FamilyTreeMaker software all at the same time. Since I do, routinely, then I'd want something a bit faster. I personally think that feedback within a deal thread is acceptable. I don't think a separate thread should be started. I simply don't think someone should say something is a bad deal. That's just rude -- and ignorant. If I love purple (which I do) and this meets my computing needs, then this is a great deal! A nicer way to respond would have been... *If* you are not running a ton of applications and there is something you really like about this laptop, then it's a good deal. However, you can get a dual core processor, which will run much faster, for under $500. (Insert link.) Dell also has other specials blah, blah, blah. I guess I don't agree with anyone in this thread, lol. Oh well. It's good to be different. :) I think Dell has gotten a little better with their customer service so I'm going to review what options they have. I really like the purple and I really like the accidental damage protection. The prices on that accidental damage policy for the laptops seems to be more reasonable than many others I've looked at. There was a time when you could not PAY ME to have a Dell. I'm happy to see that they've implemented some improved service - although still not great, imo.
  7. Gosh, I pretty much hate Dells, but this is a really cool deal and I love PINK!!!
  8. I see Christi here but I'm sorry to say they don't make batteries for glass.
  9. Thank you! I ordered 5 of each for $27.75 before tax for in-store pickup. There is a limit of 5 of each type.
  10. I got mine at Costco for $59.99 and it is available now on their website. Retail is $80. I always used to buy $10 toasters and end up throwing them out after a while. I've had this one for over a year and I'm VERY happy with it. It can easily toast those huge Costco or Dunkin donuts bagels and it even has a little button to press for bagels. It must somehow cook them more evenly. It is adjustable by number for what you're cooking and has reheat and cancel buttons for each side, too. I know it's more expensive than the average toaster, but I'm thrilled with it. Besides, with Costco's guarantee policy, you really can't go wrong! I won't have to buy another toaster for a very, very long time. Cuisinart Toaster
  11. That is very cute! I love it and it's a great deal but I simply have no more room for gadgets, lol. I'm very happy with my Cusinart toaster. :) http://content.costco.com/Images/Content/Product/990858L.jpg
  12. Thanks! I picked up some Johnson's disposable washcloths for $1.75 each. :)
  13. My panda is in "preparing for shipping" status. Do they only do price adjustments once it's shipped or can I do it now? I don't have time to call right now but I'll call when I get back later this morning if the price is still down. It's about 50 cents savings. Thanks, Jen!
  14. Darn! I was headed straight for the Merrells, lol. I ordered a pair of black Encore mj's today from the place where my cousin's wife works. Never enough Merrells!
  15. Thank you! I ordered one site2store. Dd2 LOVES duckies! One day last week we were out and every time a person talked to her, she responded, "QUACK! QUACK!" lol. She's a nut! It was pretty hysterical, though, because people did a double take when she said that.
  16. I was thinking the same thing!!!! I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. :)
  17. I was just on toysrus.com and they had wii consoles in stock for the regular $249 price. :) I bought one for my mom this morning when I saw them in Target. Shortly after I bought it, 3 women started circling for the remaining two. I hung around to watch the show and one ended up huffing away, lol.
  18. We went! The pictures speak for themselves, lol. Before http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa130/kayakmom_2007/FreeConeDay022.jpg During http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa130/kayakmom_2007/FreeConeDay033.jpg After http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa130/kayakmom_2007/FreeConeDay034.jpg
  19. If the $25 off $75 etc. is not one-time use, can you please share it? If it is and someone has a spare, can you please PM me?
