I love these but last time I checked, they were expensive!!! We also have the Pack N Play with the built in changer and bassinet. We didn't use that often. Those attachments have been stored under it for a long time. We had to replace our pack n play from ds5 because he jumped so much that he broke it!!! For this one, dd 20 months slept in it from the time she was 6 months until she was a year. She had a beautiful crib in her room upstairs, but we wanted her downstairs. Now she sleeps in her crib and soon dd 6 months will move from the bassinet into the pack n play. No sense spending several hundred more dollars on another crib when I can just cycle them through. In another 6 months or so, I think I'll be able to put dd 20 months into a bed and dd 6 months can move to the crib. There's already a crib and a bed in their room. It will get too crowded if I try to add something else! For now, dd 6 months will stay in the living room. This helps with the waking each other up factor, too. :) She's nursing and a lot of nights, she still wakes up at odd hours. -

I've used one similar to this and had great luck with it. My youngest is in it now. Both she and my next oldest stayed in it until 6 months. Granted, they're peanuts. http://slumberbabies.com/library/cuddleNcare_kb016crp.jpg The one I have is a little different. It has a vibrating thing on the end (which we never use) and it's a bit more ruffley. We do use the rocking feature when they're very little. Congratulations on your new baby!!! -
Thanks!

I think we'd really have to know you and your wife to know the intent behind it. I, too, never go in my hubby's wallet. I'm just not a snoopy person. I honestly don't think he has anything to hide. On the other hand, he doesn't really buy me surprise presents because I'd be the one making my own list, lol. In our house, I sometimes want things for me but don't generally buy them. I guess it's a mom thing, but I'd rather do for others. I've had a camera flash on my Amazon wish list for over a year. It's $240 and I've spent much more than that on everyone else, but I still haven't bought the flash. Hubby told me to buy it about 100 times, lol. I usually do my own shopping and wrap it up from him, haha. Sometimes I'll even give it to him and have him wrap it with the kids. Sometimes he insists that I get things, even when I think I shouldn't. He could care less what I buy as long as our bills are paid and we save right off the top. I don't like the idea of crossing out the kid charms in lieu of a Mary Kay basket, either! That just seems not right to me. Is she really that self centered, or is she really a hard working mom who just needs some "me" stuff at this point? I think sometimes we all need a little break and some time to think about us. It's actually good to take some "mom time". However, if it's a habit, then that's just being a self-centered beech and I wouldn't get it for her! If she's a great mom and a great wife who just may be overburdened at the moment, then I'd get her everything on the list..and the kid thing if the budget was ok with it. I want one of those Original Mother's Rings, but the one I want is platinum and with all my kids it will cost almost a thousand dollars! Yikes! I'll just stand here holding my hand on my butt, lol... or maybe I'll cave and switch to white gold. Tell us more about your wife and her possible intentions so we can give better input. EDIT: Thinking more about the kid charms... maybe she just doesn't like that type of jewelry? I have a whole box of it sitting in there and I just don't wear it. Maybe it's not her style and she honestly doesn't want you to waste the money?

Wow, I guess I'm spoiled by Amazon customer service. Circuit City is HORRENDOUS, to say the least! I'm about to flip my lid!!! Those of you who know me know that I have a good bit of patience, but this is OUTRAGEOUS!!! I have dealt with Amazon's outsourced customer service at least 10 times in the past two weeks and I've had NO problems AT ALL. This is the first time I've had to call Circuit City and I am just mortified at this rigamarole. I've wasted over 1/2 hour already to ask a simple question. Finally... I've figured out that if you press 1 about an order, you will get someone outsourced. If you press 2 for product advisor, you get someone in the US. It took all of about 90 seconds to ask my question and get an answer once I found someone who understands English!!!

I used to shop early but, like others, ended up with a mountain 'o crap. Now I start in November watching for especially hot deals. I actually only shopped a few times in person and the rest came from Amazon over the last couple weeks. I was also able to get something for a lot more people because of the great deals and I had control and did not completely overload my kids... but there's still time left, lol. I need to get baking and stay AWAY from that Amazon thread.

I baked chocolate chip cookies for my genealogy club party on Wednesday and for my son to take to his Cub Scout pack meeting tonight. Of course, the kids ate the rest and it was a double batch!! I have a lot more baking to do if I can find the time. I have a final exam consisting of 8 essays due on Sunday night and I haven't even started because I've been too busy in the Amazon thread, lol. I have everything I need so I'd better start baking and doing some homework and I'll save myself some $$$! It's so impossibly hard to bake with a 20 month old and a nursing 6 month old who is having a growth spurt and wants to be an appendage all day! When I baked the other day she screamed every time I had to put her down to swap cookies out of the oven. I'm going to have to try to get some done tomorrow night or Sunday morning and have hubby watch the kids so I can do homework between batches. Ahhh! Final comment - I LOVE MY KITCHEN AID MIXER! This is the first year I haven't blown up a hand mixer thanks to the sweet Kohl's deal on the 6qt mixer last year.

Wow, this should keep me occupied for a few minutes, lol. My 4 kids My hubby (but he got his already on Turkey day - I gave him his XBOX 360 and all the accompaniments, lol) MIL & FIL mom & stepdad 2 little cousins niece (got her a bunch of stuff because her mom lost her job) another little cousin 2 elderly great aunts (got those nice blankets on Amazon yesterday!) mail lady teachers bus driver (I started a collection of $5 per family for a Target gift card) neighbor boy my mom's best friend who is very sick with cancer a gottadeal friend a boy at a shelter for battered women and their children hubby's boss dispatcher at hubby's job That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Those are all done except the mail lady. I need to get to the bead store to pick up a gift certificate. Maybe tomorrow. I should still get something for my uncle (who is also my boss and my favorite uncle :))...but I can't think of what. I think he'd like his own personal batch of chocolate chip cookies with walnuts. Of course that's the hardest to do with 4 kids!!

What she said, lol. Actually, we took them out today and it honestly wasn't all that out of hand. I was reasonably happy with the piles. I just don't want tons of stuff in my house! Ds11 is awesome. All of his stuff is so small! PSP UMDs, DS game, wii games, etc. Love it! It's all wrapped and I stored it in one tiny box! Ds6 is by far the worst with all his big junk. Dd 20 months has a reasonable pile. Dd 6 months got some things more for the other kids' benefit than anything else. She has a good sized pile but I think it all adds up to around $30 thanks to Amazon.

For the Kodak Gallery orders, I'd count on them being late. I ordered my cards, which said 1-2 days for instore pickup. It's now day 3 and they're nowhere in sight. I spoke to a Tier 2 rep and he apologized but there's nothing they can do. It would be at least Monday, if then, before they even process. There's no way I can wait 6+ days for simple 4x8 photo cards at this point. So... I cancelled my order and I'll be picking up my cards in an hour at my local Walgreens. I feel bad -- like I should have known better. From now on I think I'll stick with tried and trusted when it comes to important things. -

It takes 7-10 days to process the orders for those gift items normally. The cards said 1-2 days for in store pickup. My cards are not ready yet. I called today and the woman was very nice. She explained that they are extremely busy but that my cards should be ready tomorrow. She said that if they were not, to call and a higher tier rep would look into it. I asked if all of this stuff came out of California and she said no, they have many processing places around the country and whichever one can do it the fastest to the location will have the order. As of right now, the status still shows received. However, I did read all of the deadlines on the Kodak site. I think that noon the first day was the deadline for the items to ship before Christmas with the least expensive shipping. If they were placed after that time, it said they could be delayed until January 9th. My hubby got a shirt for his dad and paid the $10.99 shipping in hopes that it will arrive before Christmas. I think they put the more expensive shipping orders priority and the other orders have to sit until after the holiday and then process. Hence, the January 9th date they state on the site. Hopefully the orders that were in before noon will make it in time for Christmas, but it seems that they're jammed because they probably had a huge amount of orders. The codes were all over the internet, not just on Gottadeal. I looked around and almost all the deal sites, mom coupon places, etc. had the code posted. They may not have been prepared for that kind of onslaught of orders. -
CALL. They do.

I've purchased from them before and it was good service. :)

Hi! I posted last week that I received my Secret Santa. I didn't receive my ornament yet and that's ok but I wanted to post just in case. I know a bunch of people have posted that their person didn't post that they received yet. If my person shipped by Amazon, it could be sitting here in my mountain of Amazon boxes! If my ornament exchange person shipped already, please PM Eve so that she can let me know and I'll start digging. Otherwise, it's not here yet or maybe I'll discover it in this mound o' boxes when I start wrapping. Hubby took the day off today and we had planned to wrap, but the kids had school cancelled because of an impending snowstorm. It's fine if I just haven't received it yet, as I haven't put up my tree because dd 20 months will dismantle it. I just don't want to miss the package! We'll hopefully put up our tree this weekend. :)

Amazon Customer Service - Immediately Call You !
Kayakmom replied to Flygirl's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I use this, too. I just wanted to give kudos to Amazon customer service. They've consistently gone above and beyond to make me a very happy customer! In addition to the PA's, I called for a missing package last week. It showed delivered, but the mail lady said it did not come and she did not put it here. They replaced the package overnight shipping. Today I screwed up. I was ordering one of those Lightning Deal blankets for my aunt. I forgot to change the ship to address. The order processed so fast that it was too late to change the shipping address. The guy went through and somehow stopped the order and let me put in the correct address. I thought for sure it would be too late since it was processing for shipment! They have been going way above what is expected, in my opinion, and it makes me a very happy shopper! ... I counted up my orders and I've made 24 orders during December. Yikes! -
Did you open the boxes yet? If not, you can simply give it back to the delivery person that brought it. If not, they let you print a return label and it's no charge to you. They are AWESOME about returns, PA's, replacing an item lost during shipment and customer service in general. I have been very pleased with them and I hold companys to a high level of customer service.

Glinda the Good Witch is nice and was $12.99 on Amazon last I checked. I have it saved for later in my cart and I haven't noticed a price change.

Maybe you have 4 "family members" who would be interested in chipping in $15.80 for you to add them on your Prime? If they were to Paypal you, you could add them immediately with their birth month and day and their first and last name. They also need to know your birth month and day.
