  1. They charge when you ship, but they might authorize your card now just to be sure it's good. I had read somewhere once where someone made the method of payment by check and then switched it later to the card they wanted to put it on.
  2. Can you spare him another $50? I'm not sure if they still have them, but Costco had the one where you get the extra contoller and a Play N Charge for no extra cost. Plus $50 for a game? Plus $50 for a headset? Plus $50 for Xbox Live? LOL. Then he should be good to go! My hubby, of course, would suggest Call of Duty 4. Seriously though, I think they come with the regular old cheap headset, which will work fine for the time being. You also get 30 day free trial for Xbox live, so he should be ok to start with that, too. Then you can buy it monthly but it's cheaper annually. You can rent games if you want or if he knows a game he really likes, buy it. Call of Duty 4 has seen more playtime than all of my hubby's other games put together... and that includes ds11 and his friends borrowing Halo 3.
  3. I don't know about the reviews but I have a good bit of French White and I like it! I bought some more about a month ago on Amazon and I've been using it with no problems. Admittedly, I do not use it on the stove top. I have put it in the oven, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher. It also gets pulled out of the cabinet and onto the floor occasionally by a zealous 2 year old, lol. No, it's not like my grandma's CorningWare. Then again, not much I own is of the same quality my grandma had. That's modern manufacturing for you!
  4. Alibris.com Depends on the book as to where it is cheapest. Google the ISBN #. I've had luck with Amazon and ebay, too.
  5. I love Shoebuy.com when they have the $10 off coupon codes. Stride Rite, Hush Puppies, Merrell, Solomon, and lots of others are very well made shoes. Merrells are far and away my favorites!!! My ds6 can't kill them and he kills everything, lol. My Merrell's just did a whole New England winter and still look close to new.
  6. Check if there are any fabric outlet places around you. Also, Jo-Ann Fabrics often has 50% off coupons that are good for one cut. What kind of fabric do you want? Calico is often about $2.99/yd, so it would be cheap with the coupon and it's good for one cut piece. Also, like others said, check WalMart to see what bolts they have in thr $1/$2/$3 racks.
  7. I have had similar troubles with them in the past but the merchandise always shows up. Sometimes it has taken more than 3 weeks. My ds11 ordered a Sansa mp3 player from them last week and I warned him that it could take WEEKS to arrive, so that he would not sit here waiting patiently for it to arrive. I told him basically, order it and forget about it. Be surprised when it comes because you may very well forget about it by then! (I don't think he will because he's not that type of kid, but I tried, lol. I'm sure he'll be asking me soon to show him how to check on its progress.)
  8. Does anyone know how much the Disney Princess watch with the heart shaped thing on top and the pink furry stuff is supposed to be? It came up INF and the cashier offered $2.50 and I said perfect. My dd2 will love it. :)
  9. My store was at 50% yesterday. I picked up a bunch of bags of Oreos and graham cracker cookies for $1.59. My kids were thrilled! I also got my hubby some big boxes of Nerds for $0.49. He loves them. I got some thank you notes for my cousin's wife for their baby shower and some birth announcements. I found a nice baby album for $3.44, too. Those baby items were all 75% off.
  10. Wow! That's crazy! I hope it gets straightened out soon.
  11. Is the shipping still $4.99 on each if you buy more than 1? Does anyone know? I think it would be worth it to buy about 4 or 5 of them.
  12. Is this sale still going on? I just saw this and my store is on the list.
  13. I heard the doorbell ring earlier and this post reminded me to ask hubby what the UPS man brought today, lol. He's here just about every day. I now order diapers, luna bars, and anything I can on Amazon if the price is comparable or better. I order books, toys, household things, and just about anything else! I love Amazon Prime. They're definitely in my top 2 favorite places to shop... right after Costco.
  14. Thanks! I ordered one. The first thing I'm going to measure is my windows to replace the blinds and then I'm going to measure for baseboard. Hubby's going to be scared of a wife with a tape measure, lmao. (Maybe that's why he hasn't been responding when I ask to borrow his? ) I think you may find me installing that baseboard myself, too.
  15. Mr. Fix It/DIY Guy Marcster, Is this a good tape measure? I'm always asking hubby for one and he never gets one. I'd like one just for ME. I had one before but the kids took it. I'm presuming that since you posted it, you must think it's a good tape measure for a good price? Jen
  16. I ended up buying the 48/60,000 because I'd like to drive a few extra miles each year. Timewise, my warranty would have expired in June but it just about at 36,000 miles. I limit my driving a little because I didn't want to wear out the warranty too quickly. Also, if I move I may need to drive a lot more miles to do simple things like grocery shop, so I figured the extra $362 would be well spent for the extra 12k miles. The Chevy dealer near my house is a family owned and run business and they are super nice. The dad (an old guy) always offers to help with the kids, etc. To me, that extra service is the major thing that made my decision to buy it through them rather than through the online dealer. My local dealer matched the price so it basically cost me 38 cents more at the local dealer, including tax. I feel like I did well since I got what I want, from where I want, for the price I want. :)
  17. I'm wondering about recent experiences with buy.com. I've gotten a few things from them and some were on time but others took weeks to arrive. I'm hesitant to order.
  18. That is really good to hear! Yes, it has the roadside assistance.
  19. Yes, that is why my mom told me to wait until right before the end to buy one. :)
  20. I don't want to buy either of those, lol. I want to buy the GM warranty. Since posting, I've talked to my mom about this. She works at Ford but has a friend there who was a mechanic for Chevy for a long time before going to Ford. She asked him and he had purchased the same exact one I was thinking about (4/48,000 with 0 deductible). I'm definitely going to go with it. If that's what a trusted Chevy mechanic would buy, then that's what I'll buy. I'm sure they know about these vehicle repairs best since they're the ones who have to fix them. Those third party contracts are bad news. Our Attorney General is investigating them now. I saw it somewhere on Friday but I was too busy whining about my hurting hand so I don't remember where I saw it. Lately Continental Warranty has been calling. I started transcribing everything the guy was telling me. They LIE! I called the GM Legal Dept. to report that they claim to be selling the manufacturer's warranty. An attorney called me back but I missed her call. They will say anything to get a sale! I'm also going to forward my notes to the Attorney General in my state. I hate scumbags who lie and make people worried. They do it purposely because so many consumers just aren't aware and are easy prey for these losers.
