  1. I don't have ivory but I have NF jackets in pink, light blue, and light grey. They wash and wear very well. If it is a waterproof type fabric, you can get stuff at the outdoor store (EMS, REI, etc.) to redo that. However, I wouldn't put it in my washing machine. It can make a funky coating in there. The waterprof material in the fabric is generally good for about 25 washes on most good quality products like North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Arc Teryx, etc. My kids have North Face Denali's and they have no stains. One of them is 6 years old and worn by two little boys for a total of 4 or 5 years so far and it still looks very usable. (My hubby's a crazy mountaineer and we have a thing for coats here, so this is a topic near and dear to our hearts, lol.)
  2. I'm glad my ds6 was on his game. When we went to WalMart last week he started saying he needed Hannah Montana 3D glasses from the back of the store. We were in the electronics department (as usual with my dh) and ds6 saw them right there hanging up behind the electronics counter! He got 3 - one for each of my kids except the baby.
  3. Thank you! I ordered 2 because my ds11 uses one to bring his work back and forth between school and home. :)
  4. To add more memory, all you have to do is unscrew 2 screws, pop a cover off, and snap in memory. Someone who has never done it before can complete it in less than 10 minutes, including time to find a screwdriver. Someone who has done it before can do it in less than a minute. Unless you can't unscrew and screw in a screw, I would totally recommend this as a DIY project! My hubby says if you want to bring it here, he'll do it at a discounted rate. How does $35 sound?
  5. I just compared the two and it seems that they're almost exactly the same. The only difference I see that might have been better about the Vaio is that it comes with MS Works 9.0, which could be handy. The Compaq was $30 less, too. I have never personally had a Sony, but I like the Vaio's and eye them quite a bit, lol. We have several HP/Compaq products in our household and have been pleased with them all. Customer service has been relatively good. I just went back and checked ratings and the Vaio has a customer rating of 3.9 and the Presario has 4.7 starts, so I think we made the right choice. :)
  6. Actually, I didn't get that one because I couldn't order and pay for it online. This is what we got her: Compaq - Presario Laptop with Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2370 Reg. Woohoo!
  7. I found a deal. :) I didn't post it here because I don't want anyone snapping it up before we get it, lol. I will post it here after I buy, though, which will be in about an hour due to some logistics we're trying to work out.
  8. So far I see a few that are do-able, so we'll definitely find something in our price range. :)

  12. If it's not dual core, it might still be fine, too. We just want to get as much as we can for the money. Hopefully some new deals will come out in the Sunday ads. Thanks!
  13. My mom and sister went there today and got me some wallflowers. :)
  14. I agree. If the guy had taken the time to explain the math and what he was doing for you, you probably would have been calm and bought the tires. I agree that they handled the math part of it properly, but they totally bombed the customer service. I bought appliances for my house 3 years ago and didn't know better, so I went to Sears. They USED to be good products. Not any more!!! This time I went to Lowe's when my 3 year old washer broke. I didn't even want to bother messing with fixing it after the horror stories I read about them. A fellow GD'er had her water heater break and my one piece of advice was to buy from a plumbing supply house - DO NOT GO TO SEARS! I read some horrible, horrible stories (a LOT of them) when researching for my new water heater a couple months ago.
  15. LOL! Some of us just like any reason to do math, too!
  16. I know people are throwing out some varying numbers, but let's set your tread measurement aside and talk about mileage... You had 50,000 mile tires and used 38,000 miles on the tires, which means that there were, in theory, 12,000 miles "due to you" on the tires. 12,000/50,000 = 24% You paid $120 for the tire $120 x 24% = $28.80 What they rightfully are supposed to give you is $28.80, which confirms what Scott said.
  17. You mention that you purchased an extended warranty. Do you have the paperwork for it? What are the terms of that? Who services this extended warranty? How much did you pay for it? While I do agree with the pp's, and treadlife along with time are usually considered, I'm interested to know what this extended warranty you bought is all about. I buy my tires from Tire Rack and they post their generaal warranty info online, although details vary by manufacturer: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=50
  18. I called hubby to ask if he wanted one (they're still in stock) but he's happy with his Xbox and the kids love the wii, so I'm going to pass. Nice deal, though, for someone who wants one!
  19. Just called my local store and they're holding one for me. :)
  20. Did you sign up for email? You may have to. I did and that's how I got the code to enter. I got an email shipping confirmation yesterday but it's still showing billing info received on the UPS website. I'm not really in a hurry so no biggie. I just need them by June 20th. :)
