  1. Bah! The nickel pearl is back to $360.99. My hubby got me this one at the outlets over the weekend. I used it today and this model ROCKS! I blew the gears on my 325 watt "heavy duty" model from Kohl's so hubby got me this one with the 575 watt motor and the difference is like night and day! I love it and honestly, it's worth the extra $$ if you do heavy stuff like heavy cookie doughs and breads and stuff.
  2. I bought my mom a wii for Mother's Day and she was THRILLED! I got her the wii fit for her birthday (it came out just before) and she was ECSTATIC! She was so excited because she'd been eyeing it but it was all sold out and that was all over the news so she was disappointed. She was literally jumping up and down when she opened it on her birthday. I had pre-ordered for her and she was amazed, lol. It's so nice to finally be able to get things like this for our mom's, huh? :) By the way, my mom plays it very regularly! She put their huge tv in the garage so that her and my niece can play wii, lmao. She bought herself the Animal Crossing and microphone this morning and is getting it from Santa. She's unbelieveable, lmao.
  3. I *had* this one from Kohl's. I blew it up with 2 sticks of butter that had been on the counter for a couple hours, 1c. of sugar, and I was adding 2 eggs in when the gears gave out. I was :( . My cousin has the exact same one and his is still going along great. My hubby went this past weekend and got me the 575 watt Pro 600 series in Nickel Pearl because he doesn't think I can blow that one up, lol. It has all metal construction. I think they went back to all metal gear boxes in all of them. I'm pretty sure when I got mine was when they experimented with using plastic crap. I'm not positive, but it's worth looking into. Mine blew up 2 weeks out of warranty and wasn't it worth it to me to fix because I'd just blow it up again. I expect my kitchenaid to do a lot more than I was doing when it gave out!
  4. Because it's a different color, therefore a different product, it may have shipped from a different facility. I've probably ordered 100 things from Amazon in the past year and I can say that it is almost always, or maybe even always, here on or before the predicted date. If you don't have it by tomorrow, call back and they'll replace it. They're awesome like that. I bought a set of 10 glass bowls and the 2nd to smallest was cracked. They sent out a whole new set and said keep the rest so I gave them to my uncle!
  5. I didn't read all of the posts here but I can answer your question about why they still sell version 16. Many users really prefer it and did not like the 2008 upgrade so people (including me) opted to stay with ver. 16. The 2009 version is supposed to correct issues in 2008 and I believe when I broke down and bought 2008 this summer it came with a free upgrade to 2009. It is a totally different format. Personally, I really prefer version 16 but I've now upgraded to 2008 because it's the way the software is going.
  6. I love Animal Crossing and so do my boys! I got the City Folk game last week and haven't tried it out yet. I ordered the wii speak tonight because I forgot to get it last week. I CANNOT WAIT! Animal Crossing is my all time favorite game! I am trying to convince some of my online friends to get it so that we can all play, lol.
  7. WalMart has the Expression in their Friday and Saturday sale for $199. I believe it comes with two cartridges, mats, etc.
  8. You can get the Tom Tom 125 right now on Amazon for $99 with no tax or shipping. Why go anywhere? I love my UPS man. :)
  9. My uncle got me a Breadman breadmaker last year for Christmas and I was thrilled. A lot of times, my gadgets tend to sit in the cabinets. Not this one! I fully intend to use it today, too. Not only do I make regular bread in it, but I've done mixes, sweet breads, cakes, dough, etc. My kids now love homemade pizza more than ordered because it's so much fun and so easy! For dough, for example, you just put in the ingredients, press dough program (7 on my machine) and come back in an hour and 20 minutes to perfectly risen dough. I think this gadget actually rivals my Kitchen Aid for most used small appliance! For the one year I've had it, I'd rate it five stars all the way!
  10. Wow! We got there at about 10:10, right after ballet, and got in line. It didn't take long at all to get through the line (maybe 15 minutes) but they only had two tickets for tables left after I got to the front of the line! Talk about just making it! I guess I got table 248 of 250. Lucky!
  11. I called my local IKEA yesterday about the table and they only had two in stock but she called to the stock people and they said there would be 250 of them and they'd be set on a display in the middle of the warehouse. I hope I get one!
  12. Oooh! We donated our old table and now we have a huge one. I was bummed because it's really too big to use when we show our home. I think I'll try to go there right after ballet, which would get me there for the 10am opening. I might also grab those dishes to use for table props. Then I can use all that stuff for a breakfast nook type space overlooking the patio at the new house. Thanks for posting!!!
  13. Wow! Great deal! I've seen this toy around quite a bit lately, but not this inexpensive! Thank you!
  14. My son's favorite thing about the ipod touch seems to be all the applications. He has all kinds of things like he has one milk thing that when you turn the touch, you can make it look like you're drinking the milk, lol. They are so easily amused. Those all seem to be Apple things, so I'm not sure if you could do anything like that on this, but this does seem neat for the price.
  15. Promom, I don't know of any software that gives you access to look up your family at no additional cost. However, there are many free sites available. One of these days I should sit down and write up a tutorial of some of the best free sites, tips for beginners, etc. I've been meaning to do that for the adult services librarian where I attend genealogy club. A few of the sites I would point you to for free lookups: www.familysearch.org www.cyndislist.com www.rootsweb.com If you search genealogy in the lounge, you may find some others in some of the posts I've done there in the past.
  16. If you need any help with reserach let me know. (It's definitely better to PM me because I don't read every thread.) I'm always happy to do lookups when I have the time. Sometimes it takes me a little while to get back to people, but usually I come up with things pretty quickly and I love to do it. I consider it my way of helping out random strangers. I've come up with some pretty interesting stuff for some GD'ers so I consider it a form of entertainment -- better than crossword puzzles, lol. :)
  17. Has anyone tried this? I met a guy in a historical society over the summer who swears by this software. I personally use Family Tree Maker, but I'm not super excited with the last two upgrades. I searched around and found a 5% off thing for all customers so it came to $30.39. Not bad for 39 cents after rebate! Also, remember to switch to the budget shipping for free shipping otherwise it was about $4 for shipping.
  18. I've been trying to order two pairs of pants since 7:00 this morning?
  19. Just to clarify... those lawyers are NOT Fancy Pants.
  20. Xbox 360 all the way in our house. My dh and ds12 don't want a PS3. I told them I'd get one when there was a great bargain and neither of them even wanted it. My dh plays with a lot of guys who play both and they say that even though the PS3 is free, it "sucks a$$". You rarely get dropped on xbox, but the ps3 apparently doesn't have as good of servers and it's totally annoying to the players because they get dropped constantly during games. My dh plays COD4, Army of Two, Gears of War (soon to be a new one!) and stuff like that. Ds12 and his friends play more of a variety of games. We have been very happy with the Xbox 360 choice. Even my ds6 and dd2 love it because of Viva Pinata! They all played it together last Sunday. It's like the family garden, lol. The xbox definitely sees more hours of use than the wii in our house, although ds6 loves Mario Kart.
  21. I'm going to have to show that to ds12. There are so many choices that I couldn't even begin to pick them out for him! Nice deal! Thanks!
  22. We have two of these (different sizes) and they're great! Addie loves her little pink one and even at 2 years old, she's figured out how to change the songs. It's so cute to watch her dance with it. I definitely recommend it!
  23. I saw a cute one at IKEA the other night for around $129. They worked on a shared labor model (you get your own things from the bins, you build it, etc.) and it keeps costs down a lot.
