  1. Check at Toys R Us, I know I saw a bunch of color Pixter software on clearance for $4.98.
  2. My almost 10 year old is really into all the spy gadgets that are out in stores right now. That's mostly what he is getting this year. My nephew(3 months younger than DS) likes Bionicles. What I did to get some more ideas for my son was to go window shopping at Toys R Us. He gave me some great ideas on what to get him(for both his birthday, which is 12/12, and for Christmas)
  3. My 3yo is getting at least 2 sets of little people(big lots has a tube set of them , for $4.99), a Color wonder market/paper set($1 at the local dollar store) and fruit snacks. He loves fruit snacks. My 10yo, I haven't decided what to put in his stocking yet. I'll have to see what the TRU video game deals are like in the coming weeks.
  4. That's what I meant by cheesy-looking. Even Super Nintendo games look better than what's on the Vsmile. My only complaint about the Leapster, when I was looking into it, was the lack of 4-5 yo games. They should've built a bigger game library before introducing the L-Max.
  5. I hope to be done by 11am this year. Then home for a nap. I'll wrap the gifts that night after the kid's are asleep.
  6. I was going to get DS a Leapster, but then I got lucky, and found a LeapPad at savers(with 3 books/cartridges, all for $12.99) And, DS saw it, and has been bugging me off and on for it since(well, he hasn't mentioned it in a few days, so I think he forgot). So, he's getting the Leappad this year. I will be buying additional books for it, I can afford to with the price I paid for it. The V-smile looks really cheesy to me, and we have regular video game systems and educational games(DS has 2 sesame street games for the N64, never plays them)
  7. That is great! My son has two of the Nickelodeon cartridges, but movies would be a great addition to those. BTW, the tv show cartridges are ONLY for the GBA, they will not work in the Player(the part that connects to the GameCube) I remember that warning on the box when I bought the shows. I can't speak for the DS however.
  8. I am definitely going to go look at my Target for that tomorrow. Thanks!
  9. Yep, clearly labeled, and all the items are in bins. Your store may just not have one yet.
  10. The Dollar section at my Target is right up front, first section I see when I go thru the doors.
  11. I have to drive 20-30 minutes to get to any major store, I live in a small "cottage" town.
  12. Ooh yes, please give information about the mixer!
  13. When I worked at Office Max years ago, the boxes of Black Friday ads were locked in the safe, so I don't think they are purposely leaked. Well, at least not at Office Max.
  14. About the same, I'm just spending the money wiser.
  15. No more KB here either. It's kinda odd to go to the mall now, and not have a toy store to visit.
  16. Ooh, I have a nephew that is into Bionicles. I already have the Bionicles DVD for him, and a set of them would complete his gift.
  17. Toys R Us, TRU is just the shortened version of the store's name.
  18. TRU is still a better place to look for video games, etc. Pricematching is a PITB to do at the Walmart here. And the customer service is better at TRU. Besides, the few items I want at Walmart, I will be doing most of my BF shopping elsewhere. And the green tag clearance at TRU is actually 50% off the green tags. I saw loads of Pixter color software, which would be $4.98.
  19. I try not to go overboard, but the kid's do have things that I never had as a child. I do try to limit Christmas shopping to $100 per kid, but do break that budget sometimes.
  20. Ooh, I really need to go do a layaway there too. My grandparents would love the Walton's boxed set, and I want the Everwood one.
  21. Well, I have one of the can openers from the BF ad, got it on clearance after Christmas, for $2, and it works great. I did get what should've been the $10 food processor, same thing, on clearance. but I have yet to open the box(still in the garage even). LOL I'm waiting until I have a bigger kitchen, and some place to store it.

    Menards

Yep, last year they had a great sale on video games.
  23. Right now, Big Lots(they have a bunch of Quantum Pad/Leap Pad books, I want to see if they're going to go on special) and Target.
  24. My 9yo wants spy gadgets and a metal detector(we went browsing at TRU the other day, so that I could get ideas for him) He also wants a motorized scooter or bike(for his birthday, which is Dec. 12th) I'm not so sure on that part though. He's also going to get a few video games. 3yo is easy to shop for, Little People, Care Bears, coloring items, Leap Pad, and fruit snacks. LOL Yeah, a lot of the stuff he's into is in the WM Black Friday ad.
