  1. Exactly!! It's the one positive thing about Super Walmart. And yes, you read correctly, I said $178. The ad said $198, but because of the Best Buy deal, WM here dropped the price to $178. I didn't need one/want one at the time, but this year, I'm totally getting one. I want to be able to sit out on my 3 season at night, enjoy the night air, and play on the internet.
  2. Good ol' Fargo ND(and no, I do NOT have the accent)
  3. Well, we could get lucky(I'm hoping for a laptop too) and get to WM in time to wait for the $178 laptop. For me, I'm not even sleeping. I'm dropping the kids off at my sister's house, and heading to WM to wait in the laptop line(24hour WM, so the store is open, a great thing up here in ND)
  4. I did get my son's GBA SP a few years ago online, it beat trying to get to TRU when I lived an hour away from one. As for laptop's, I don't know. Seemed like last year the best deals for laptops were in store only.
  5. The closest one to me is in the MSP area. So don't feel bad. The only electronics/computer store near me is Best Buy, and you'd have to pay me mega-bucks to go there on Black Friday.
  6. I've been watching the wireless mouse/keyboard sets too. I hope the ones at my store are lower now.
  7. My oldest was in a toddler bed at 16 months. It can be done. And if anything, there's always the family bed. Crib tents are better at keeping things out of the crib than keeping things in them. But, if you really want to try one, http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?dest=9999999997&product_id=4726174&sourceid=0100000030910868802498 If the link doesn't work, go to Walmart.com and search for crib tent.
  8. I scored big yesterday!! Got an Eddie Bauer 8 person tent-$45. It was originally $179. Plus a Coleman queen air mattress(with pump) for $22.48(been watching that one for awhile)
  9. My two favorite recent finds have been a cast iron skillet at Savers for $5.99(it is hard to find nice looking cast iron secondhand around here, and secondhand is so much better for cast iron) And a Leapster Batman game for $4, brand new(Target cast-off at thrift store)
  10. It all depends on when your store gets the truck from Target in. I know for us, diapers and such don't go to the thrift stores, they are donated elsewhere.
  11. If anyone who wanted one of the big Tiki fountains never got one, I found the little tabletop Tiki fountains last night for 50% off, 9.98. I'm in the process of re-doing my room, and the one I got is going on my dresser once it's refinished.
  12. We don't have a local Goodwill, so the items from my local Targets get sent to a local chain of thrift stores instead. Just yesterday, I got a Batman Leapster game at the thrift store for $4. It was definitely a Target item. My favorite is not the clearanced items, but the items that can not be reshelved for some reason or another when they've been returned. I got my husband an FM tuner for his Ipod, $8.45 because the cord to plug it into a cigarette lighter was missing. Not a biggie, he mostly used it at work and just used a AAA battery in it instead. That FM tuner is regularly $49 at Target.
  13. Oh, and the seats were not in the carseat aisle, they were underneath the strollers/highchairs.
  14. If anyone missed out on the Parkway, but is still looking for a booster seat, my Target had the Graco Safeseat(Turbobooster, the one with the back) on clearance for $12.48. DCPI is 030090359 I bought 2 of them, and when a fellow customer saw me with them, I pointed them out to her(and she had a 3-4 year old child) and she bought the other 2 the Target had left.
  15. And the Britax is at least 10x better than the Cosco. Use it for a week, and you'll see the difference. No crappy twisty straps, and it installs like a dream. Darn it..wish I could get to Target sometime soon. I'm just too busy getting my husband ready to leave for overseas right now.
  16. That deal on the Marathon is totally great! I got my son's for $200, and that was after searching for the best deal. If anyone finds a Parkway or Marathon on clearance, but doesn't need one, I am more than willing to pay you for it, and pay for shipping. I have 2 nephews who could use a Marathon, and I have a neice who could use a replacement booster seat, she's in a crappy Cosco one now.
  17. Dang it, my Target doesn't carry the Parkway. But then, it will be at least a year before my 4yo has outgrown his Marathon.
  18. My store had Playmobil sets for 75% off. I got 2 pirate sets, $3.98 for the bigger one, $1.98 for the smaller one. They had the big pirate ship for $19.98( I really need to go back and see if it's still there)
  19. If you're on the lookout for an MP3 player, I just got a Samsung Yp-F1 for $75 at Target, 50% off. I usually wait until 75%, but the electronics at my store rarely make it that far. It's 1gb, has a built in FM radio, and voice recording capabilities. The only issue I've had with it is that it uses Windows Media player to sync with, and media player isn't the easiest program to use. Supposedly, the newest version is easier, but it's beta, so I'm waiting until they get the bugs out before downloading it. The salvage at my store usually gets cleared out quickly, but I have gotten a few things(not recently though) I did stock up a bit for the holidays with their toy clearance though.
  20. Why? I've been reading for years on various message boards about people complaining about the "horrible" return policies that company's have had to institute, when in fact, they are only doing it because of consumer's(ie:the complainers) cheating them. I know people who won't shop at Target at all anymore because of their policy, when almost every other major store has the same type of policy now.
  21. It was probably almost expired, which is the reason for the clearance. Alot of grocery stores will do that.
  22. I wish my store carried clothes, oh well. Read in the newspaper that TRU is going to be making some major changes to their stores(cleaning them up, redesigning aisles, making some changes in the selection) due to having a new owner(or CEO, or something like that) so I'll be waiting for that clearance. And that's a problem because? I am so tired of people complaining because of stores protecting themselves. Get over it already.
  23. Oh, and he will be gone for 18 months, 3 months of training, and then 15 months in Kuwait. I think I will get him the 2gb, and buy a 1gb for myself, and just keep the 256 around as a spare.
  24. When I took the certification class, there was no LATCH, so for me, seatbelt installations are easier, because I've worked out exactly how to do each type of installation the easiest. I let my certification lapse though, so I've never actually done a LATCH installation. It's really rather easy huh?
  25. Wow, thanks! Here, I thought 13.88 for my 256mb flash was a good price. Looks like I could've gotten a lot bigger for not a lot more.
