Not interested in the Vsmile, I trust LeapFrog products, as we've had great luck with the company in the past, and I don't want to jinx that. I'll keep an eye out myself, I have a dreaded trip to Walmart to make in the next few days anyway.

Ooh, my DS needs a new MagnaDoodle(he goes thru one every 6 months). Anyone notice any Leapster stock ups?
-
We've bought two of the Apex(so I guess no-name) DVD players from WM over the years. The one we bought 3 years ago works, but doesn't like Disney DVD's, and makes a horrible sound when one is played in it. The one from 4 years ago works perfectly, and is the one in our living room.

I'm hoping for big, big sales on Fisher Price Little People sets, as far as toys go.

I haven't used a purse in years, I just put my money and ID in my pocket(same with the keys)

If I can find any of the DVD boxed sets I want for cheap on BF, they are my christmas gift to myself.

Yep, the GBA SP is completely backwards compatible. Even original gameboy games fit into it, and I've played a Gameboy color game on the SP several times( I got hooked on the HP chamber of secrets game for awhile, LOL) The SP is awesome, the rechargeable battery is my favorite part.

Mp3 player, Leapster, CD-R's, Rescue Hero stuff for my youngest son, Farscape, futurama, and Firefly DVD boxed sets.

32 inch tv from Walmart a few years ago, 1 DVD player and 1 VCR are all still in use. And from 8 years ago, Lego Island computer game, I just took it out again for my little one to try out.

Oh well. Someday I will get a chance to upgrade my 1999 computer for cheap(yep, that's right, I'm using a computer that was a low-end model in '99) -

Um yeah, I'd be completely willing to compensate someone. I don't have an Office Depot anywhere near here. -
Toys R Us -70% additional off of clearance items!

<snicker> I know they had some of those Vtech computers on clearance, green tag price was $90, so they would've been $27. Robosapien was still full price(and my store did have some in stock) I saw some rollerblades too, but I think they were all children's sizes. I didn't see any board games or trainsets/racetracks. They did have some video game accessories in the clearance though. But, I do also have a small TRU, so that may make a difference. I'm going back on Friday, I'll report what else I find at mine. -
Before Christmas, the deal was 50% additional off of green tagged clearance items. Well, it's gotten even better. Markers for 28cents, crayons for 8cents, I even got a Barbie playset for 89cents!

Sleepy time Blue's Clues-$4.49 at Toys R Us. I just found it on Saturday, they had a huge clearance area set up, and a sign up that said 50% off all clearance! It was clearanced because the batteries died while it was on display. $2 worth of batteries will fix that problem right up!

Nintendo has also started releasing Gameboy Video. There is a Strawberry Shortcake one, as well as many Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network shows.

Ooh, went to a different Walmart, and found 1 quantum Pad book for 7.88, that DS doesn't already have. And I managed to find 1 of the $20 LeapPad systems. I was in a good mood yesterday!
-
$448 computer here, and most of the small appliances. I was holding out extreme hope that there were still some $20 LeapPad sets, but no. *sigh* Oh, the $7.88 LeapPad books(in the current ad) are a very small selection. Only ones at our store were 2 Quantum Pad books my son already has.
-
OOh, I might just have to go, I couldn't make it on Friday, so I didn't get a few things I wanted too. Gotta go anyway, they have LeapPad books on sale for 7.88, and my oldest wants a few for Christmas.

The Gameboy SP I bought came with an AC adaptor(yours should've too). You don't need a light since the screen is backlit. The link cord would be good though, and the game cases. The advance case may not work though, I don't remember if the one in the kit is a hard case or soft case(DS has a soft GBA case for his SP). For $5, I'd get it, even if only a few of the things get used.

Elena, it's even funnier that they did that at 4am in the morning!

We've had or currently have all the new systems too(DH didn't like the Xbox due to the lack of good RPG's for it) . I like the Gamecube for it's variety of kid's games, plus there's Mario and Sonic(I'm a sonic junkie) On the other hand, I like the PS2 for their great variety in RPG's(DH and I are both rpg fans) and the fact that it can play dvd's, so we don't have to have a DVD player hooked up to that tv(we have a dedicated video game tv) My 9yo prefers the Gamecube too. SSX and Crazy Taxi are fun games! I "steal" DS's GBA sp all the time so I can play Crazy Taxi.

The SP is backwards compatible too, where it will play regular Gameboy, and Gameboy color games. I get a lot of DS's games at Gamestop used, or at pawn shops. My son is the outdoorsy active type, so he mostly plays video games during the winter, when it's just too cold to play outside. During the summer, they largely get ignored. Just set rules for it's use. Like, if they get their chores done and homework done, they can play it for 1/2 hour-hour. Use the Gameboy as a privilege.

ITA with everyone else. The SP is well worth the extra money, for the rechargeable batteries alone. Plus..you can play it while it's plugged in, so if you're in the middle of a level, and the low battery light comes on, you can just plug it in, and continue playing.
