Target and thrift stores
jadedmomof2 replied to jadedmomof2's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I'm assuming it's GoodWill too. There isn't a GW here, so it all goes to a chain of local thrift stores instead. -
I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but Target will sell their clearance items that don't sell(some of them at least) to local thrift stores for them to sell. Well, they also do this with returns and damaged packages. You can find some great stuff by knowing which stores sell Target items. I got an FM transmitter for an Ipod yesterday, $8.45. This exact same FM transmitter was in the BB ad on Sunday for $49. The problem with it? The DC cord was missing. Oh well, it functions just fine with the batteries. And you can't beat that price. It's also great when you miss out on an item when it was on clearance. I recently bought my son a Juice Box at TRU(on clearance) for him to use as a MP3 player(I already had boughten the mp3 kit, to use the memory card reader with my digital camera) and the thrift store I went to had a bunch of Juice Box media cartridges for $5.65 each. He was very happy with his Valentine's gift from me!

Thank you!! I love getting books for cheap. -
My Sears has started the seasonal clearance. I saw sheet sets for 75% off(cotton weave and flannel), clothing was 50-75% off. Bought my son a new winter coat(the kid is tough on zippers) orig. $50, clearance price was 12.49. And the best part about Sears is the Kidvantage program.

Thanks for that post noehlp, I bought both of those games, and a LeapPad book, all for $16 shipped.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06

Ooops, just noticed the camp sets were already listed. The makeup at my store was 30% off, however, check the dates on it. Some of it has sunblock in it, so they have expiration dates. -

5 piece child's camp sets, 50% off, 9.99. All my store had left was purple. -
However, pre-packaged meat, that has a longer shelf life, is packed full of preservatives, coloring agents, etc. And it just tastes horrible. I'd rather buy from my locally owned store, where the meat has been packaged within the last day or two, then take my chances at Walmart. But then, I only buy pork and chicken at the grocery store, all our beef comes from the local butcher shop, we buy a 1/4 cow every few months.
-
If I have to go there for something else, I'll pick up a few things, but otherwise, I do much better going to real grocery stores. All of our local stores double(sometimes triple) coupons, and the meat is 10x better than anything Walmart tries to sell(I absolutely refuse to touch Walmart meat)

Are HP 25/26 ink cartridges on sale? I need some ink, but if it's on sale, I'll wait until Sunday. -
Sorry, it's a PDF(Adobe Acrobat file), I will type out a better list later if I have the time.

And..most Targets sell/donate their clearance items a short amount of time after they are 90% off. Here, the clearance items(esp. seasonal items) go to a local chain of non-profit thrift stores. In other areas, they go to GoodWill. Keep that in mind if you think you'll be able to get back to Target to pick up that pair of winter boots, etc. Also, if your interested in something, always scan the price of it before making your final decision. I ended up finding a plug n play game before Christmas, that scanned in at 6.24(rather than the 17.48 on the price tag) I do have 2 Targets near me, so if I am looking for something specific, and the one closest to me doesn't have it, then I will go to the other one. -
Ooh, that means the Sears clearance isn't far behind. Thanks!

Up here, all Pepsi product 24 packs had the coupons. There are also coupons for a few bucks off of Acceleracers sets. It may have just been a local thing. And my husband drinks at least 2 cases of Dew a week(Yes, he's addicted) so I have at least 10 of the coupons. I crush the cases, and bring them to the recycling bin every few weeks. -
Try local thrift stores too, you never know what you'll find.

Has anyone seen any of the $19.99 Vidsters in their local stores? I have a bunch of coupons for $15 off the Vidster(printed inside of Pepsi cases) and I would love it if I could start Christmas shopping already. -
What's the difference between the Leapter and the Leapster L-Max?
jadedmomof2 replied to Mugglemom's topic in 2005
The Leapster L-Max can be plugged into the tv. Only difference. -
I wouldn't get either of those for a child that age. Especially if she already has everything. Have you asked her parents what she likes? Or considered buying books, or other similar items for her?

At my Target's, the itemsthat don't sell get donated to a local thrift store chain, and those thrift stores sell the items. -
Mine once again has a bunch of the Carebears w/dvd out, but at regular price.

Huge Video Game Clearance @ KB for PS1/2, Xbox, GC, PSP, DS, and GBA

Dang it, I wish our KBtoys hadn't closed. -
For the Carebears, check your Walmart now, I have two(the last two that were on the shelves) on layaway there right now. No real disappointments here, I've always gotten the items I've really wanted. And I never go for the "hot toys of the year" because 6 months later, those toys are all on the clearance shelves. And they've never been anything I've wanted to get my kids anyway.
