  1. So... I'll jump into this discussion, seeking a little advice. I've determined that for my sister, the Nabi 2 7" tablet would be perfect for her kids. Yes there is a bunch of kids tablets out there but based on what you are all saying and what I have read it seems the Nabi is the way to go. That isn't what I need advice on however. What I'm wondering is what would be the best tab for a 20 something looking mainly to consume media. You know, as in, browse the web, watch YouTube videos, email, Facebook, etc. I can't imagine this person being too into gaming. Maybe just the casual games. The budget is preferably $100 but if the offer is just right that budget could swing a little higher but absolutely no more than $150. I was thinking there may be a deal on the Galaxy Tab 3 7" that should fit the budget BUT I was wondering what you all think? Oh I can say that a 7" tab would be fine. Also, I'm mainly trying to stick to the good brands with good customer support LIKE Samsung. I'm not really looking at Pandigital or Polaroid. So.. any advice you all have that would be much appreciated.
  2. Hate to burst your bubble but that is a picture of the 2008 ad. Dates may be the same, but that is NOT the 2013 ad but again the 2008 ad, sorry!
  3. Oh geez, I hope really hope WM actually will let you PM on BF. I enjoyed the option these last few years of getting everything I want/need at BB first then hopping right up the road to WM and PMing all the other stores on movies and games. I mean WM usually has the best deals to begin with but if Target had a particular movie I wanted it was nice to know I didn't actually have to go to Target to get it.
  4. Well thank you all for the replies. Luckily in my area, I haven't had to line up DAYS ahead of time. I won't say exactly when I line up or when I plan to line up but let's say it isn't the like I'm lining up the Sunday or Monday before. i was mainly asking because if I am camping out at Best Buy again this year then it will be the first time I begin camping out while they're still open. i don't think my area will share in any experiences on the level that you guys have. Might get one of the local news channels to report in but that's about it.
  5. I agree that is certainly a good price. Compared to last year you would have paid as low as $109.99 for the same kind of monitor. This monitor features a TN panel with an anti-glare coating. If you're not a professional anything where color reproduction matters (and you would thus want an IPS panel) then this would monitor would be fine. Now, one thing TN panels ARE good for is gaming, because they help reduce the amount of lag that you experience. For me, Best Buy had a good deal on a monitor in-stores last year (good enough that my cousin wanted one for himself). This year, after I have made some upgrades to computers, I could go for a nice 1080p monitor myself. So I hope BEst Buy comes through with another deal as that's where I'll likely be standing in line. Plus by buying in person I get the monitor right away and I don't have to wait for the shipping.
  6. Well if that is true then we can TALK. Either way, I still can't wait for the full ad to drop.
  7. Ok, well, this news leaves me to ask a question. To all you HARDCORE Best Buy campers, what is it like to camp out at Best Buy when the store is still open? I've been lucky that every I've had to camp out at Best Buy they weren't open. I mean though, are customers coming up to you and asking you if you're crazy for camping so early? Do store employees come out and chat with you?
  8. This is interesting. I will have to wait for the full ad before passing total judgement but if I went with what is just listed from the article then I'm not so sure I am totally sold. Best Buy will have an Insignia 39" 1080p HDTV for $169.00. Not bad except for the fact that they had a Toshiba 40" 1080p LCD HDTV last year for $179.99. The differences I can see as is is that you will save $10 over last year's deal but you will also lose an inch. Unfortunately, I feel that is a very crucial inch. Going from a 40" TV to a 39" TV is like going from a TV you would brag about having in your living room to a TV you merely keep in your bedroom, the kitchen, or as a spare somewhere in the house. The only way I could say that 39" TV is truly a deal is if it is an LED HDTV, which wasn't stated. This is why I will wait for the full ad before passing total judgement. Also that LG 55" HDTV for $499.00 isn't bad and it is probably an LCD HDTV. However, if it were to be an LED HDTV then I'd be quite surprised that would make that a fair bit sweeter deal.
  9. Thanks! I always enjoy the PDFs as they're the perfect way to archive the ads year over year plus I can show them to other people without needing internet.
  10. If I may add to this, whenever you get a coupon through the Disney movie rewards website or through Coupons.com it goes through special software you have to install. Point is when you print one instance of a coupon out you can usually hit the back button, refresh if necessary, then okay the dialog that may pop up and *boom* you have a second coupon. You have to print the second coupon out as I described because I don't otherwise know how else you can do it. If you know anyone else with a Disney movie rewards account you can either tell them about the coupons or hit them up for their coupons as well.
  11. Thankfully, in all the years I've done BF so far I haven't had to deal with line jumpers. There was one year (@Best Buy) I believe a guy was hovering around the front of the line thinking he could hop on in just as they would open the doors. It didn't work out for him. On an unrelated note I've seen/heard more about people trying to scalp tickets for hot items more so than people trying to line jump. In fact the one year I showed up to Best Buy pretty late (~2 hours before opening and was surprisingly like one of the first 100 in line yet) as I only needed a Blu-ray player that year. Well prior to opening I heard some guy going down the line trying to scalp a ticket, so I flagged the next BB employee that walked by and told them. I didn't find out if the matter was dealt with but knowing the Best Buy in my area, I'm sure it was.
  12. There is a lot I want but only a few things I am most looking after. 1. A 1080p IPS computer monitor (will take the hit in quality and accept a TN panel if the price is REALLY low). Would prefer 1440p but none of those go for less than $300. 2. A good gaming mouse (I'm currently looking at the Logitech G500S) 3. A decent 2.1 sound system for my second PC 4. Possibly a desk; nothing fancy. Could be just 3 boards (2 legs and a top) for all I care. Nothing too long though like a 6' table 5. Movies/Games deals that are so good you'd be an idiot to pass them up,
  13. I have saved .pdf copies of all the ads from 2005 and on so that is how I remembered,
  14. If I may go back even further in time I shall share something funny with all of you. Today, in the WalMart Black Friday ad, WalMart advertises Mario Kart DS (Not Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS mind you) as being on sale for $29.86. Well a long time ago WAY back in the year 2005, Target, of all places was advertising the very same game for $28. That's right apparently NOT all things get cheaper with age. With a deal that is so facepalm worthy, it also makes you wonder if you could take a copy of Target's 2005 Black Friday and get a price match TODAY (as in this year) at WalMart. I think if you were successful that would be a story of near legendary proportions. Imagine it, "Person price matches seven year old Target ad to save a $1.86 at WalMart!" Just think then, Target could issue the following statement, "The reason we here at Target chose NOT to put out a competitive ad was because we simply did not need to. Our deals on offer from seven years ago trumped that of our competitor's offers TODAY. As a result, by not offering a super competitive ad we were able to save money and continue to offer high quality products to our valued customers. Add to that any customers who were truly looking for a great deal could just have brought our old ads to our local competitors and have done a price match. We would have imagined among the chaos during the infamous, Black Friday, that our competitors hardly recognized our ads as being outdated. Putting all this together, we will pull ahead this holiday season by not having given away all our products at non-profitable prices, unlike our competitors who will surely see large dips into the red as a result of our customers having price matched with our old ads." ANYWAYS..... I remember that 2007 was the first year I stood inline at Best Buy. It was at a new Best Buy store and I was first in line. Yes I was a bit ill-prepared but I had quite the fun.
  15. WalMart should have no problems price matching that particular deal (and I hope to do so myself). There is a slight issue though that EVERYONE on another forum (cheapassgamer.com) are getting worried over. If you look at the scan of the print ad it does show the 1600 MS points card for $9.99 HOWEVER if you go to Target's website and look at the ad there it shows the 3 months of Xbox Live cards for $9.99 instead. So many who wanted to get the deal online are out of luck and more to the point many fear that the print ads might have been updated to reflect the website, but as I tried to say over there that if the print ads WEREN'T updated then you'll be fine.
  16. Unfortunately, it is not; at least that is what I concluded when I compared the spine of the game in the Big Lots ad (that I can't quite make out) to the spine of the game in the WalMart ad (that I can clearly make out) they did not match up. I wish for your sake they did match because that would have been a heck of a deal at that price!
  17. Novel idea in theory but if people couldn't line up outside Best Buy until 6AM Thanksgiving morning wouldn't people then instead of lining up outside of Best Buy just make a line to be the first person to be first in line at Best Buy if you get what I am saying. Otherwise wouldn't there just be a mad, chaotic rush come 6AM to see who can be first and thusly the potential for some serious fights and such. Almost like a real life Hungry Games.
  18. I have a question. Is this event online only or is it in-stores as well because I know some folks who are interested in the Toshiba 50" LED HDTV and we are just trying to figure out if we have to get the tv online or if it could be gotten in stores as well?
  19. As noted by this thread here, http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?273404-Members-Only-Online-Event-Black-Friday-doorbusters-early-at-Sears, couldn't you get that TV, which is a very nice deal by the way, this Sunday/Monday then that way you are free to line up at Best Buy?
  20. Question: These UP rewards that you get back, are they like store credit that would be good on anything or more specifically, prescriptions? Normally I do not shop at Rite-Aid (except when my family is picking up a prescription) but on Black Friday they're having a nice deal on 2-liter bottles of Coke products and possibly a few other things and I'm just wondering if you could use these UP rewards on prescriptions?
  21. THANK YOU! I and many others have been waiting patiently ever since you said yesterday that it would be coming soon!
  22. That's the thing about MAP laws I can't understand. How do such laws continue to hold up when couldn't a person just drive across state lines to a state where said MAP laws do not apply?
  23. I reserve judgement until the whole ad has been posted but the front page items seem on par with everyone else. All I can say about that 32" TV is that it is not $97 like Sears/KMart but it is at least confirmed to be 1080p.
  24. I couldn't remember exact terms but that's what I was figuring. Now not to go too far off topic but how can those MAP laws really hold up when couldn't a person just drive across state lines where the MAP laws need not apply and thusly save even more?
  25. Thanks for the update Brad and I do seriously apologize if my earlier post came off as rude. I just mainly was pointing out that there was a difference in between what I was seeing and what was posted. So again thanks for the quick update.
