Finally! Thanks for posting this one. Normally in years' past I didn't get excited for the Sam's Club ad since I nor my family didn't have a membership there but since they just recently opened one in our town we now have a membership. Unfortunately the one time I am excited for the ad it rather disappointed me. That online only laptop for $349 does seem like one of the better laptop deals I've seen across all the ads though.

For the extra $50 the Onkyo receiver is quite better than the Sony receiver. The Onkyo receiver has twice as many HDMI inputs as well as more connections beyond that. The Onkyo receiver also supports the lastest formats of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It also supports most of the latest HDR standards like HDR 10 and Dolby Vision (support for this coming soon as a firmware update). As for a blu-ray player, what to recommend would depend on the TV you are hooking it up to. I mean is it a 4K TV or just a regular 1080p TV. Also, are you an Xbox gamer because perhaps you get an Xbox One S/X as a blu-ray player.

Per the information I could find, the 27" Dell monitor at Staples is a better deal. Yes the Acer monitor features more connection options but the more importantly the Dell monitor features an IPS panel which means it will provide better color reproduction (Yes I know this statement might be an oversimplification but its not far off the mark). For the price, if you can get the Dell monitor go for it!

You are saving more than you are spending which says something. In terms of quality it won't rival that of a high end Samsung or LG TV. It is a smart 4K TV yes but it does not have HDR which is the better of the two technologies that can come with a 4K TV. Compared to a QLED or OLED the picture quality may not knock your socks off and you may be unable to make a lot of adjustments. It's not the best TV but for someone who is looking for a cheap TV or doesn't have a TV it will suffice so long as they don't abuse it.

In the case of movies though those little arrows once scrolled don't even show you all the titles that apply at the noted price. You have to click the "Shop Now" button in order to see ALL the titles that apply.

Best I can claim is lining up at Best Buy 24 hours prior to opening. Did I need to? Maybe not but with the rationalization that I had nothing better to do I just decided to line up anyways just to be safe.

I'm up and I'm super excited!!! The fact that this ad just dropped makes me think WalMart and Best Buy won't be far behind. All of which lines up with when they dropped last year. I'm also potentially excited about the today only deals mentioned.

While that is true, as long as you have a Windows key that's all you need. You can always create a bootable USB and install Windows that way.

I've never order from Dell on Black Friday but I can tell you right now with RAM prices and GPU prices being high, combined with the new Coffee Lake 8th Gen Intel processors being sold out and damn impossible to get that at $799.99 that system (which even if it is just the tower/case and no monitor, keyboard, mousse, etc.) is a great price. I quickly did a DIY build of similar specs splurging a little on the RAM, and motherboard and I was definitely over the MSRP price listed in the ad. However even if I didn't make the splurges I did I don't think I could beat the sale price. If anyone else figures as much this should be an item that sells fairly quickly. I don't know enough to absolutely say you'll have to be super quick and on the ball to get one but I certainly hope you can because it is a great deal. Two things to keep in mind with that computer for $799.99 while it is a great build if it was me I'd double the RAM to 16GB minimum if I could. Also, if I could I would add in an SSD on top of the 1TB hard drive they give you. Yes doing so might require reinstalling Windows but that'd be a minor issue. Other than that it is a pretty decent gaming build for sure!

Lots of good options but I'll opt for a less popular one: American Hustle (starring Jennifer Lawrence)

I will do my best to chime in here. At $499 the kind of gaming computer you are getting isn't exactly the best. At that price noting you want to run flight sims I would say it is the bare minimum I would opt for in regards to a gaming computer. At that price the processor you are getting will be good at first but won't exactly hold up in the long run. Same could be said for the graphics card. At $499 the machine is good enough for flight sims but don't expect to be able to run many modern games at max settings or high resolutions. If it was me and I could so I'd spring for the $799 machine on page 7. Yes it is $300 more but it offers a better CPU that will hold up in the long run and the GPU should last a little longer as well. Couple of other notes. All these systems feature only 8GB of RAM which is fine if you are just playing games but if you try to multitask by running a browser with a ton of tabs open at the same time, forget about it. 8GB is not enough then. Also these systems only feature a 1TB hard drive. Which will probably fine in your case but an odd choice for a "gaming" PC. Basically I wouldn't expect super quick startups like you here about and that's because these systems aren't running any kind of an SSD. One final note. That gaming monitor you referred to on page 3, I cannot for the life of me figure out why ANYONE would pair THAT monitor with the "gaming" PC shown on the same page. Why? Well that monitor features NVIDIA G-Sync. Nevermind what that does but it is a feature only usable if you have an NVIDIA graphics card which that PC does not. Besides I'm not even sure that that PC could even push the full limits of that monitor. Don't get me wrong there is a time and a place for a monitor like that but for you, here and now it is not. It is evident to me you want to keep this as reasonable as possible so I could just get a different monitor else where. Things I would look for are a resolution of 1920x1080 at the minimum. I'd look for a size of 24" or higher. If mentioned you want a response time of 5ms or less with 1ms being most optimal. Also, if possible, you want an IPS panel versus a TN panel. That last part might be tough though. A monitor like this shouldn't be more than $150 tops. This ad doesn't feature such a monitor so we will have to wait for more ads like Best Buy or Office Depot before I could recommend something specific. That's all I got for now and I'm sure other members will chime in with even more info. If you have any questions, do ask.

For anyone who is into designer board games I would absolutely recommend Scythe (https://www.amazon.com/Stonemaier-Games-STM600-Scythe-Board/dp/B01IPUGYK6/). It is a fantastic strategy game featuring a handful of miniatures. The base game supports up to 5 players but it can go up to 7 players with the first expansion. There is a second expansion available with a 3rd one planned for next year. There is of course a variety of upgrades and promos you can get for the game as well!

I will chime in as best as I can. I do think if you can build your own PC that is definitely the way to go and Newegg.com can help with all of this. They have great prices on all the components you would need to build a PC and in fact they will have these components on sale for Black Friday. I "built" a decent i7 build with a top end i7-6700K processor, 16GB of RAM, a 240GB SSD, 3TB HDD, Case, Power Supply, copy of windows, and AMD R9 Fury for $1160. Probably way more than you were thinking and that doesn't include monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers/headset. As an alternative both Newegg.com and Best Buy will have pre-build gaming PCs for sale. These may include keyboard and mouse but no monitor and speakers/headset. Luckily these will be on sale at both places. This route can still add up. A third option is to get a medium grade desktop PC without a GPU and add one in. For example, Best Buy has a nice medium grade desktop PC with a nice 27" monitor for $599.99. Has everything except a good keyboard, mouse, and speakers/headset. Thankfully Best Buy has these on sale in part with their half off sale on all Logitech G series accessories. You can get a really nice Logitech gaming keyboard, mouse and headset. Admittedly I am partial to Logitech, but that sale is a great value and no matter what option you choose I would look into it as a good way to help complete which ever option you choose. Just to echo what others have said I would generally avoid the cheap/low end desktops and laptops, especially. I would say that if you went with the option of building your own PC I would focus more on getting a decent processor. Two reasons; One being that processors are harder to upgrade, and can potentially require a whole new motherboard and, possibly, RAM. Two, you will generally get more mileage out of a processor than you would a GPU. So If you build a PC right, then down the line you could likely get away with just doing a GPU upgrade and then further down the line doing a processor and GPU upgrade. EDIT: I wanted to add that, if you're son has interest in Overwatch, then you will definitely want to go to GameStop on Black Friday because they will have the PC version of the game on sale. Also, it is unlikely that Blizzard will offer a sale on the game, digitally and even if they did it isn't likely to match GameStop's price.

But it is a 4K tv, so she'll be too blown away by the amazing picture (assuming you show some native 4K content, ) to bother with killing you.

This fall season NBC has been airing the second season of the comedy show, Superstore (clearly a parody of WalMart). It currently airs Thursdays at 8:30pm. Tonight's second episode, because there was two, was an episode about Black Friday. I don't know where you can watch this episode after the fact if it will be on Hulu or available On Demand via your cable/satellite provider. If you can check it out, I suggest you do so. It's been relatively funny so far. I'd also go back and check out the rest of the series if you haven't do so yet.

TazErase: It will be like last year. They will open at 5pm and at some point between 3pm and 5pm they will come out to hand out tickets for the 5pm doorbusters. Then at some point after midnight they may close for a few hours and prior to re-opening at 8am they will come out and hand out tickets for the 8am doorbusters. So basically there is two sets of doorbusters. To your point though the ad isn't exactly clear on which items are for the 5pm doorbusters and which are for the 8am doorbusters.

Alright, I gotta take a closer look at the movie and game deals on their website but so far it looks like Best Buy will be my go to once again. It looks like Best Buy will have the best values on all the deals I am looking for!

Since I was researching this information for a friend of mine I thought I would share what I found here as well. As mentioned above not all 4K TVs are created equal. While most will support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, thus allowing for 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray playback, via a compatible player. Not all 4K TVs support HDR10, which again, as mentioned above, seems to be the leading standard so far. For those of you in the market for a 4K TV some of you may also be in the market for a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player and so far the Xbox One S reigns supreme on that front. With this in mind it would be helpful to know which TVs actually support the standard, HDR10. Thankfully a user on Reddit maintains a list of the lines of TVs that support HDR10. NOTE: That list only includes TV lines/series known to already support the standard, HDR10. It does not include TVs that have announced firmware updates in the pipeline coming to support HDR10. Now I haven't looked yet to see if any of those TVs are on sale yet but if you want to get the most out of your games and Ultra HD Blu-Rays one of those TVs would be one of the ones to get.
