  1. Alright, I was camped out at Best Buy way longer than I needed to be and, unfortunately, most of what I wanted wasn't ticketed BUT I did manage to get everything I want. So... First stop - Best Buy: Picked up for friends and family: HP laptop + MS Office LG 55" HDTV LG Blu-ray player HP desktop Dell Desktop Dell 24" monitor Wii U Bundle 16gb microsd cards For myself: two Blu-ray movies Roku 2 (as a gift for someone) Second stop - Walmart: 3 copies of Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm (for my two cousins and I) Third stop - OfficeMax: Logitech LS21 2.1 PC speaker system (for myself) Dell 24" monitor (last one as a gift to me from my parents for Christmas) Fourth stop - Walmart (again): Some movies for myself and as gifts Final stop - GameStop: One year PSN+ subscription I mostly stood in line for other people so that they could enjoy Thanksgiving with their family. I was happy to do it, though, and I was fairly compensated for my time. On top of all of that because of the earlier opening times I was able to get home at a decent enough time that I could enjoy my turkey while it was still warm. Plus I got to catch the second half of the Steelers/Ravens game despite the fact that the Steelers lost, .
  2. I do not think there is a working link yet available but I will tell you that; White House Down on Blu-ray is currently on sale for $15 on Amazon.com. May not be the price you want but still good nonetheless. With Iron Man 3, good luck finding a deal on that one unfortunately. As for Fast & Furious 6 that movie isn't even out yet. It will be out early next month with every store offering their own exclusive version of the movie.
  3. Cartwheel is a mobile app you can get on your smart device. You can use this app to get exclusive weekly coupons good at Target. For example, this week and last week you could get an exclusive coupon good for 10% off a copy of Disney's Planes on Blu-ray. You can get the iOS version here, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cartwheel-by-target/id659563061 and the Android version here, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.target.socsav
  4. Thank you for sharing these forecasts and keeping them up to date but if I may they don't paint the whole picture. You have the forecasts for Thursday and Friday which is great but a lot of people will be lining up on Wednesday, possibly even as early as tomorrow. It is these two days that will suck the most for folks in the northeast. There is a winter storm that will move across the northeast Tuesday and Wednesday. Nothing too severe though from what I've read/seen. Even so depending when you intend to line up you could have an ugly start to your camp out!
  5. I just happened to be browsing on another forum (CAG) and one of the members there noted that GameStop put out an updated version of their ad. That discussion (and pictures of the new ad) can be viewed here, http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/322875-gamestop-new-black-friday-ad-changes-battlefield-4-2499-ghosts-4499/ The noted changes however are as follows:
  6. People always comment on how cold I look BUT other than my usual wear I will also sport a hoodie and my Gottadeal.com BF shirt. I also make sure ALL my devices are charged (iPod, iPad, MP3 Player, cellphone) and I have my headphones on me. If I'm not listening to Christmas music via the local radio station on my MP3 player I'm listening to music on my iPod. IPad is great for checking ads and getting deal updates. For sustenance I usually have flavored water and trail mix. My family will usually bring me a hot plate of food at one point. All that, paper ads, a chair and blanket and that is it.
  7. Not exactly... You tried to watch the first episode, which roughly 24 hours after it aired it was available on their website, but I guess it can only exist on their website for a brief period of time before it has to be pulled. I think the reason for this is the fact that you can purchase South Park on iTunes. See I think the studio gives you a couple days to catch the latest episode before it shows up on iTunes but then when it does show up on iTunes the studio has to remove it from their website for a while, because if they didn't why then would anyone pay for the episodes on iTunes? I suppose with that in mind then everyone who hasn't seen the latest episode should do so before it is too late.
  8. Just got back from WalMart. Was able to snag a bunch of those $1 4 packs of Playdoh for our annual Christmas shoe boxes that our church does!
  9. For those who did not watch it live, here is the exciting "conclusion" of South Park! Be careful of the not kid-friendly/safe for work episode title. Oh and mods if the link I'm providing is a problem (since it contains the episodes title) feel free to fix it but please don't delete it. Enjoy!, http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s17e08-a-song-of-ass-and-fire
  10. You should check out their special "6 days to air." Essentially they create a new episode for each week in only 6 days. Basically when one episode ends they instantly begin work on the next one. This is part of how they can be so topical and relevant within the show. In fact, a couple weeks ago this way of doing things finally came back to bite them for the first time ever when their studio suffered a power outage and they couldn't meet their deadline for the next episode. OH and to everyone asking the conclusion will air LIVE this Wednesday night on Comedy Central and then should be available on their website with in 24 hours. I'll post a link to the conclusion when it becomes available!
  11. Forgive me for not posting this sooner, but I only just got around to watching it. Also forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but I think given the topic/subject matter it fits here just about as well as anything else. If you understand the reference made by the topic title then you are already aware of what I am talking about. If you don't understand then, please, continue on. While the day of Black Friday draws near and more ads see the light of day, won't you put aside all the ads and enjoy a quick laugh? Go here, http://cart.mn/consolewars , watch that as much as you want and then feel free to share your laughs here with everyone else. Sorry for the vagueness, but simply put I have a TV show for all of you to enjoy and if you can handle the comedy portrayed on Comedy Central network then, please, enjoy the show. I'm just not saying too much as I don't want too much spoiled for you. It is funnier when you don't know as much, On a serious note, though, mods, if this truly doesn't belong here, that's fine, feel free to move. I just figured based on the subject matter of said show it fits here quite well.
  12. THANK YOU. I have been waiting for this one the most but now it is out. Unfortunately this ad has only made my decisions more difficult rather than easier.
  13. Thank you and to everyone else who replied. I really do think now that the Samsung Tab is the way to go. Another thing I thought of was the fact that you can actually use the Chrome browser on the Samsung Tab and I LOVE Chrome. I have Chrome on my two PCs, my iPad and my iPod. No matter what device I am on I have instant access to all tabs open on all devices. Plus I love the shared history between all devices. I think it makes for a really seamless experience.
  14. If I may, you are right the E2742V is TN and I initially chose that one as a comparison because they both LOOKED the same AND COST the same, but clearly they are not the same. This next model costs more but is an IPS panel just like the one that will be on sale on Black Friday, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/27-ips-led-hd-monitor/7979086.p?id=1218863183326&skuId=7979086&st=lg%2027%22%20monitor&cp=1&lp=2 Also, you mention the Dell U2312HM and the fact that it is IPS. You are right, it is an IPS panel BUT for $20 more why wouldn't you just go for the LG 27" monitor at Best Buy? Unless, of course, you know all about DPI and that sort of thing actually matters to you then by all means go for the Dell instead.
  15. I was merely pointing out that that is the exact model that Best Buy will be selling but if you want a very similar model to compare with then check out this one, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/27-widescreen-flat-panel-led-hd-monitor/4880161.p?id=1218564871548&skuId=4880161&st=lg%2027%22%20monitor&cp=1&lp=4 Just take note of the slight difference in the brightness specification. That slight difference may not make a huge difference in the end but either way I just wanted to make sure you are aware of it.
  16. Going back to my prior post, I think I have narrowed it down between the Kindle Fire for $99 at Best Buy and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" for $159.99 available everywhere. So does anyone have any opinions on either one that could narrow these two down to one? Again I'll reiterate that this tab would be for a 20 something looking to do the everyday stuff like web browsing, email, social networking, etc. I'm sort of leaning towards the Samsung tab only because it would be the easier of the two to score, plus if I get it at BJ's (which I can) they'll throw in a free case. Plus I know the Samsung tab supports microsd for expandable memory but I don't think the Kindle Fire does, so... that's a factor. Tell me though what you all think.
  17. Here you go, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/27-ips-led-hd-monitor/1875013.p?id=1219066386928&skuId=1875013&st=lg%2027%22%20monitor&cp=1&lp=4. That's the exact monitor from the ad. It is definitely a good deal getting an IPS monitor at that size for that price, but if it was me I would prefer a 2560x1440p resolution at that size but then a monitor at that size with that res wouldn't come as cheap. The 1920x1080p resolution is still good though so don't let my personal preference sway your decision in any way. On an unrelated note did ANYONE notice on BestBuy.com's website the mention about mystery midnight doorbusters, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Misc/Black-Friday/pcmcat225600050002.c?id=pcmcat225600050002&DCMP=rdr100334. Apparently Best Buy will open at 6pm on Thanksgiving day, then at 10pm on their website they will announce a set of doorbusters to go on sale two hours later at midnight. So with that in mind how many people will get in BestBuy at 6pm, pick up their 6pm doorbusters and then get right back in line to camp out for the midnight doorbusters? Heck with the way some BestBuys work you may still be checking out by the time midnight rolls around, . Anyways, does anyone even think these mystery midnight doorbusters will be anything good? EDIT - If BestBuy is going to stay open around the clock from 6pm Thanksgiving Day until 10pm on Black Friday, how exactly will these mystery midnight doorbusters work then? I mean clearly BestBuy thinks these deal would be worth something, enough that they might do tickets, BUT how would they do tickets? I mean if you want one of these doorbusters would you have to go back outside and line up again? That would seem odd though given that the store would be open anyways. I mean, I doubt it would happen, but what if, god forbid, come 10pm BestBuy is still letting people in the door from the 6pm opening would you go to the end of that line or form a new line for those that want these mystery doorbusters?
  18. Technically the iPad Mini is $299.99 but it includes a $100 WalMart Gift Card. You aren't getting the iPad Mini for $199.99 but instead you are getting it for $299.99 with a free $100 to spend at a later time. That deal is the best deal seen thus far and with every major ad that counts being leaked already it is unlikely to be topped. I will remind you and everyone else though that the iPad Mini on offer is the first generation iPad Mini without the retina display. I'm not saying that makes the deal bad or anything I just know the retina display is really nice and is something that some people couldn't live without. EDIT - Oh and if you want more than one, make sure you bring a friend along as that deal is specifically one per customer.
  19. Ok, serious question for those who might know. I am looking at that nice Dell 24" monitor on the front page for $99. What I would like to know is if there is any sort of limit on that particular item. I know I would like one and I have a cousin that would like one and I may have one or two people, that if they decide to go with a desktop over a laptop, they would need a monitor as well. So I'm wondering if there is a limit, or if it is one per customer / a ticketed item.
  20. OMG, OMG, OMG. This is like my happiest day ever, all thanks to you Brad. I am going crazy right now, in a good way. I'm chatting with my folks, chatting with my cousin, chatting on Facebook. I'm all over the place spreading these ads around. Initial reaction to this ad is that there is no killer TV deals like Target has. Plenty of deals on other stuff but not TVs. EDIT - speaking of big ads, I think all we need yet is Staples and that should really do it. Again thank you for your service and hard work.
  21. I hate to burst your bubble but that 20% only applies to purchases made after midnight on Black Friday. So any purchases made between the 8pm opening time until midnight would not benefit from that 20%. So with that in mind, I don't think you can get that extra 20% off either iPad unless you can hold out and find one in stock after midnight. If you doubt me, just read the fine print on page 34 of the Target Ad. EDIT - Thank you, Brad for sharing this ad. Now with this ad and Target's ad I'm really curious about what Best Buy will bring to the table. I say that based on last year's experience. Last year Best Buy had the TV deal to beat with the 40" HDTV for $179.99. Both WalMart AND Target didn't have any TV deals worth writing home about. That has all changed this year. Target is the one with the deal to beat so far by having a 50" LED HDTV for $229.99. Thusly, I am genuinely curious if Best Buy will come out on top this year or get swallowed up whole by the deals both WalMart and Target have to offer. Oh and by the way, WalMart pulls through on the game deals AS USUAL! Awesome! Also, there is some great deals on movies but the real deal is in what we don't know. I can only hope some intrepid folks can get a list of all the extra movie titles that will be on sale at the selected prices. I know some folks in my circles pulled through last year, let's hope they can do it again this year. With that in mind, come on Best Buy! Show us what you got!
  22. Hah, I can imagine that to be quite true, but I thank you for all that you are doing! I am loving these ads!
  23. I was just about to sit down to a nice hot meal, but then this ad gets leaked. Looks like that meal will have to wait a moment,
  24. Again, THANK YOU, it was about time this one leaked out! Initial reaction is that I feel Target's ad is better. If you need a washer/dryer Sears is your place but Target has the better deals on TVs!
  25. THANK YOU for posting this!
