  1. I think the ad scan is missing some pages? Like a page full of $7.99 Blu-Rays for example.
  2. $199.99 - 4GB XBOX 360 Game System w/ Free $50 Gift Card + $10 Gift Card (From Purchase Of $100 Or More) - @ Target $199.99 - 4GB XBOX 360 Game System w/ Free $50 Gift Card + $10 Gift Card (From Purchase Of $100 Or More) - @ Target (Yes I would want two of this console: One for me and one to give to my cousin as a gift to replace his old XBOX 360) (Yes I have two targets within 15 minutes of each other so as to play fair by the rules I'd get one console at each store) $029.99 - Wireless Black XBOX 360 Controller (To give myself a set of 4 controllers) - @ TRU (I would do a pricematch for this at Target) --------- $429.97 $429.97 (Total spent so far) $025.00 - This much in cloths (If specifics are required I can list them) @ Old Navy so as to get a free copy of Dance Central for Kinect for Xbox 360 --------- $454.97 So technically to lay this out, I could stop at my Old Navy first, grab the game, go to the one Target and wait for them to open. Go to the other Target for the other purchase. Then using the allllllllll the gift cards I got I'd go back to the first Target when they are all active and pick up a Kinect! $500.00 (Total available to spend) -454.97 (Total spent so far) --------- $045.03 (Balance remaining) +120.00 (Balance of gift cards) --------- $165.03 -150.00 (For the Microsoft Kinect) --------- $015.03 (Change, ) (I could either grab a movie or two or stow it away for some victory breakfast!) EDIT: Modified my list to reflect newly posted ads, oh and forgive me if that is not allowed
  3. Can I just add something to the mix so as to hopefully dispel some confusion. Everyone says to pay attention to the refresh rate (60hz, 120hz, 240hz) with LCD/LED TVs. I want to note though that as far as I am to understand it this ONLY matters when watching live TV fed through a cable line (or antenna) plugged directly into the TV. If you have a blu-ray player or set top box or otherwise the refresh rate really doesn't come into play per say. Example, my TV is a 120hz LCD and I plug my computer directly into the TV but I can't set the computers refresh rate to 120hz. Also the notion that you need at least 120hz for 3D TV/Gaming is true, but you needn't worry about it. ALL 3D TVs are at least 120hz if not 240hz, you can't buy a 60hz 3D TV. I may be wrong, but it just has seemed to me that unless you are watching a lot of live TV via a direct cable line via a cable service or an antenna that the refresh rate doesn't really matter for anything else. I mean even though my TV is 120hz no devices connected via HDMI or otherwise can go up to 120hz only 60 max. So basically you should try to get the most you can for your money, but to me the differences aren't really significant unless you are watching live TV as described above.
  4. For me, we have a local paper delivery business right up the street from us, and because we know the people who work there we usually just stop on by between 3 and 4am to pick up our copies as soon as they get them. Oh and to the people who question actually have the paper ads when they're already leaked on here, two things: Paper ads are good for any included coupons, and also good for PMing. EDIT - I just realized that this thread is technically asking when you get up to get the ads and to answer that, well I am usually still up at this time. The past few years I've stayed up until about 6 or 7, then I take a nap, wake up, eat some food, then go line up at the store of choice. :)
  5. Well I understand your needs, I should caution you that all laptops that the website you referenced reviewed all had a dual core processor in them. This allowed them to get an average ~25FPS. Now I won't say with upgrading the memory in the emachines that it wouldn't handle the job but remember. The emachines is only a single core processor and that TF2 and a bit more power hungry than HL2: Lost Coast. Either way though I hope the laptop works out for you.
  6. Well clarify an earlier post I made the $398 laptop at Walmart is in fact a single core Intel Celeron 900 processor. This information comes straight from their website.
  7. Alright help me out people, according to this cnet.com article, http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10403436-1.html?tag=hotTopicsBody.1 The author quotes that according to what he has seen reported that the $398 HP at Walmart has a dual core processor. Can anyone give any confirmation to this? I ask because in the ad it has a picture of a Celeron sticker beside the laptop.
  8. Alright, quick question for you all. I'm interested in the Samsung 50" 1080p Plasma at Sears for $899.99 for my brother. I know that Sears will be offering this one during their F&F night this Sunday. Question is with the F&F savings and all, can this be beat? I just want to make sure because I, myself, do not see a better deal on a 50" plasma (especially name brand) which my brother is interested in.
  9. Alright, everyone, if I may I'd like to go back to my question from earlier, given now that the Best Buy ad has been posted. Can any of the laptops in any of the ads play games, and by that I mean can any of the laptops in any of the ads handle games like the Orange Box or the new Call of Duty 6 at 720p (with max settings, and possibly, but not required, high or max AA / AF settings)? EDIT - Should mention brand and such doesn't matter. I am not totally against having either AMD or Intel. It should have at least 2gb of memory. Hard Drive space doesn't matter. An HDMI port is a must, and I'd prefer it if it had an expresscard/54 slot. EDIT - This particular laptop on Newegg, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157046, is a good example, but can this be beaten. I mean it has everything I would want.
  10. Lines stretch for days. Cold and restless, deals for all. Black Friday here I come.
  11. Alright everyone, this year I will be looking for a laptop that can play games like Call of Duty 4 and the Orange Box at 720p (read not 1080p) with max settings (read preferably max AA and AF but I could live with toned down AA and AF as long as everything else was maxed out). The question is can I or rather would I be able to get such a laptop for around $400 to $500? Note I'd like a nice sized screen, I don't need a blu-ray drive, an HDMI out port would be excellent, and an e-sata port would be great (this one I could live without if absolutely necessary), and anything else I could think of would be standard. Oh and possibly some form of a express card slot. A tall order, yes? I would think on BF though it's possible?
  12. Last year was my second year doing Black Friday, seriously, and it was good. I was in line for friends getting them a laptop and gps. My cousin was with me in line to get a new LCD TV. We knew what had to be done and everything as we waited in line at Best Buy. I kept worrying it would take them a while to get in and get out. Surprisingly though it actually took me longer to get the laptop, gps,and some things for myself than it did for my cousin to get his TV. All told we finished and left in under a half-hour of the store actually opening. We were like one of the first ones in line which helped (although we got there at around 1 in the afternoon.) My first year was nice I got everything I went for and I was first in line at BB. I was on the news and everyone in line was SO friendly what with hooking me up with free hot chocolate and everything. For all the stories I've heard of people being jerks (not that anyone on here is such a person, ) on Black Friday the people I was in line with were nice. I hope like last year this year goes just as smoothly as I plan to be standing in line once again for a laptop, most likely.
  13. Well, let me be clear, I'm standing in line and making the purchase for them, then I will meet with them later and give them their items.
  14. Alright, I thank you. My cousin looked into ordering the TV online but as it turns out best buy wouldn't ship it to their area or even mine, but they could order it at Sears.com and Sears would ship it to their address, so they may go with that so as to avoid one more hassle on BF.
  15. Probably from noon on thanksgiving until opening on BF.
  16. Hey noehlp I will certainly keep that in mind, and mention that to my cousin the next time he calls, but for my own sake, still how would I go about getting such a TV in stores on BF?
  17. I have a question about purchasing TVs @ BB on BF. This TV isn't a doorbuster, but rather the Samsung 40" LCD HDTV for $799.99. My question is this, how exactly do I buy this TV on BF? My cousin really wants this TV and I'd like to know how to buy a TV because I want to be able to get in and get out of this store as quickly as possible.
  18. I have a question for all of you here. Before I go get in line @ BB for BF. I want to ask you this. I'll be standing in line for some friends who can't in order to get a laptop for them. My question is what do you all think is a fair rate or fee to ask for for standing in line for them? Forgive me if this has been asked before.
  19. Ok, I need clarity. I'm hearing a lot of talk about BB and their laptops. I've heard the following: $229,99 Toshiba Laptop $299.99 Sony Viao Laptop $344.98 HP Laptop W/ 3-in-1 Printer (Rumored to be $280 and not $345) $379.98 Toshiba Laptop My question is this, I know the specs on the HP and Toshiba Laptop (the one for $380), but does anyone have any clue as to what the specs on the other two laptops would be and whether or not they would come with anything? Also my other question is, other than the fact that BB initially had the HP laptop mistakenly listed for $280 is there any other evidence to support the rumor that this laptop will in fact be $280, because I mean BB's website lists this one as being $345 and I can't imagine they would change this on us? I ask for this clarity as I have some friends and family interested in laptops and I want to recommend them the best laptop for their needs (and budget) out of the four listed above. I figured since this was the official laptop discussion thread I'd ask this here, but if you think my question would get a better response from being posted in the BB store specific sub-forum, I can certainly move my question there. Thank you for your help.
  20. Forgive me if this is too far off topic, but does anyone know how this Samsung camera compares to the Insignia camera from Best Buy for $59.99?
  21. Interesting, I will definitely have to check this out, but if anyone has any more details (such as price) feel free to share them. Oh and thank you crazypurgatory.
  22. When you say "make frames in the store", what exactly do you mean? Also do you know how much they charge for custom frames or frames in general?
  23. Hello everyone, I received my 3-disc Blu-Ray copy of WallE today, . I should mention though, I preordered my copy on Disney.com, therefore it came with a set of four lithographs (17wX11l). In addition to this fact I recently signed up for the Disney movie rewards and for $3.50 I was able to order a small poster of the WallE Movie (10wX14l). Therefore, my question is this. Where can I get frames for these photos, cheap. I would prefer all black frames (to contrast my white wall). I would also prefer something that is metal or has a finish that looks like metal. I prefer the frame to be simple and clean (as in fancy curls or complex designs in the frame. I would prefer a mat around the photo but it isn't absolutely necessary. Anybody know where I can get some frames that will fit these photos? If it helps, I was thinking of putting a lithograph, one on each side, of the move poster itself.
  24. I quite familiar with the Blu-Ray format so I'll field this one. I don't know much for Sony S350 except for the following: The Sony S350 is a profile 2.0 player (available view firmware update) (profile 2.0 enables the bd-live feature which allows your player to connect to the internet to download extra content for a movie that supports this feature. In addition this player will both decode and bitstream Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD but it will only bitsream DTS HD HR amd DTS HD MA. The player has 2.0 channel rca outputs and supports full 7.1 sound output via hdmi. As for whether or not there is specific playback issues or not I do not know. As for the BD-P1500 it's basically the same as the s350, specs wise. As for whether it's a good player I shall refer you to this 90+ page owner's thread, here, http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1029955 Now don't let that thread scare I've read a good portion of it and the general consensus is that it's a great player however some argue it has heating issues (which directly effect playback), but those can be resolved by placing a simple laptop cooler underneath the player. others complain that with new releases they don't play so well in this player. Well I can say you either have to wait for a firmware update to fix the playback issue, or go with the better assumption and assume you have a bad disc and just need to simply replace it. If you still need more information I recommend you poke around www.avsforum.com That website is nothing but tech and you should have no troubles find info about both players on that site. If you have any further questions or want to know where you can get the best deals on movies, don't be afraid to ask or PM me. EDIT - I want to add that if you become dead set on getting a BD-P1500 I recommend you go with amazon.com over the B&M stores because after tax and (generally) free shipping you're getting that player cheaper online then in stores. Albeit the savings aren't much but you do beat the crowds that way. Also I assume you are on a budget, but I recommend you check out both the Customer Votes promotion on amazon.com and you check the PS3 (considered by many one of the best all around blu-ray players) (which is conveniently a part of Amazon's Customer Votes promotion and if you participate you may have a chance to get a PS3 for $200, )
