  1. I remembered to come back and post! Yay! I am still looking for a few more gifts. I have a switch on layaway for my daughter, but hoping to get a decent deal on at least one game before Christmas. I sure do hate paying 60.00 for a game!
  2. I love this idea! Thank you!
  3. This was the first year that my daughter went with me. She had so much fun! She loved it but she is so tired. We didn't stay out all night. We went to Walmart around 5:00 (she stayed with my dad and niece because she wanted to stay and play). Then, we picked her up and came home. We went to bed early so we could get up at 4:00 this morning. Got to the town for our BF shopping a little after 6 and had a good day. Got back home around 3:00. She came home, played a few of the games she bought (with the birthday money she had saved) and now she is in the bed watching a movie. She is 11 and knows how to behave. So, there were no issues at all. She had originally planned to come with us to Wal-mart. If she had come there, she would have been able to walk around for about 30 minutes and then would have stood in line with her dad so she would be safe.
  4. We went to Walmart first (got there at 5:00 p.m. Thursday night). It was crowded but I don't think it was as crowded as it was last year. My husband said the same thing. We then came home, slept, and got up at 4:00 to head out of town to finish our shopping. Went to Belk's first this morning and it was not crowded at all. I ended up not getting anything there because they didn't have the boots the my daughter really wanted, but we found some that she liked better at Kohls. Went to Target and it was pretty crowded. I really didn't need anything there but my friend needed to go. So, while there we checked out the movies. Although it was a little crowded, checkout was less than 5 minutes. Kohls was pretty crowded and the line for checkout was fairly long. That being said, checkout still took under 15 minutes! Very good experience there. We went to 3 different Gamestops. The first one was not crowded, but it is one of the smaller ones located in the mall. The 2nd one had what my daughter wanted and there were a few people in there, but it wasn't bad. The 3rd one was too crowded to really look. So, we didn't stay. Overall it was a very fun and successful day! Hoping nothing I ordered online gets cancelled. Walmart (in store): One of my sons is getting married in March so I went in mainly to buy for them. Towels Bath cloths Metal bowl with lids set Plastic containers (with lids) set I-phone 6 (for other son, he bought but we stood in line for it) 2 copper electric fryers (one for me and one for son getting married) Target: My daughter bought The Croods movie and Lego Movie (she had saved money from her birthday) Gamestop: (in store) My daughter bought 3 Wii games Kohls (in store): Got my daughter boots and a pair of jeggings Gamestop (online): Bought both of the boys a pre-owned Xbox One each and got a Nintendo 3DS XL free (with free shipping) Best Buy online: Batman movie Xbox One game Walmart online: Coffee maker Xbox One game I know I am forgetting something, so will come back and edit it later.
  5. So, I tried to order 3 pre-owned consoles online and it worked! I got 2 Xbox One consoles for 150.00 each (one for my son who has moved into his own apartment and is getting married and another one for my son who is still at home) and I also got a Nintendo 3DS XL. So three systems for a total of 330. Not too bad. This means that I have finished both of my boys' Christmas shopping (with the exception of one or two games) since I was able to get several things for both of them last night and today. I still have to finish my daughter's, but that gets nearly half of hers done as well. I had bought an Xbox One S but am going to return it since I was able to get 2 more consoles for only 115.00 more.
  6. Just ordered the Xbox One. I thought I was just gonna get my son an Xbox 360, but I heard him talking about the Xbox One, so decided to go ahead and get it. I thought I was gonna have to stand in line for it, but I got up and checked this morning and it was still in stock. Hopefully it won't be cancelled.
  7. Thanks everyone. I think I am going to just get the Xbox 360 instead. It is for my son and he really won't care. That way I can get him a few extra things he wants as well. I just don't think it is worth the risk.
  8. After reading some of these, I am really worried about ordering online from Kohls, but I really want that XBox One S for 189.99. I am seeing several of you say that you have cancelled orders. The only difference between everyone else's price is the 45.00 Kohls cash. Is it worth taking a risk? And honestly Kohls is overpriced most of the time anyway, so that 45.00 in Kohls cash wouldn't go as far there as 45.00 would in another store. If it were you, what would you do? I've never bought anything online from Kohls during a BF sale.
  9. I got a prepaid VISA card from our credit union today. I am about to activate it and add it to the few places I may buy online. I don't want to use my debit card this year because of all the fraud going on. I will use whatever is left on the card as I am out BF shopping and I will have some cash as well.
  10. Thank you! Just hoping I will be fast enough to get it.
  11. I completely agree that it is dependent upon the maturity of the child. My daughter is 11 and she is going with me and a friend this year. My husband and at least of my sons (19) will probably go to Walmart with us as well. She will be allowed to walk around the store for a while, but I will put her in line with one of us about 20 minutes before the chaos starts. Our store is smaller and we know at least half the people there. There has never been any real trouble either. If it were a bigger store and it was known for trouble, then she wouldn't be allowed to go. She also knows how to behave in a store. After Walmart we are all coming home to sleep and will get up early the next morning to go shopping at the other stores (an hour away from us). She has been asking several years to go, but this is the first year that we've felt she would be able to handle it. Honestly, if my friend were not going with me this year she would not be able to go because I will be buying part of her Christmas. But my friend said my daughter could stand with her while I grab her stuff.
  12. Do you think any of the doorbusters will be on sale, particularly the Xbox One for 189.00?
  13. I wish we had a Meijer nearby. I always hear so many good things about it. Mario Kart 8 is another one on her list. I see that Walmart has the wired controllers for 17.00 so I may get one of those just as an extra.
  14. It is the first generation Xbox 360. Someone told me not to get first generation. But, for free, even if it quits working later on, you've not lost anything. Since Gamestop is opening Thursday this year, I won't be there when they open, so I bet all of those will be gone before I get there Friday morning.
  15. Well, it wouldn't necessarily be 3 consoles. I am thinking of getting the Xbox 360 for one of my sons. And then maybe getting some of the more expensive used games or accessories (such as used Switch games, if I can find them and used controllers and things like that). If I could get a good deal on 2 consoles and get the third free I would buy for other family members as gifts. Yeah. If my bank account would allow me to do that, I would..lol. We don't own any of those systems. If you have three kids you could get them their own Nintendo 3DS XL.
  16. Super Mario Odyssey is definitely on our list! She had played it at a friend's house, but the other day we went to Gamestop and she played it. When I told her you can also take it on the go, she decided she wanted it. She is not a big gamer, but we all enjoy playing games (and watching) as a family sometimes. Another one that is on the list is Mario Kart. I've not seen it on sale anywhere that I can remember. I am about to recheck all the ads to see.
  17. My 11 year old daughter is getting a Switch for christmas. Unfortunately there are very few games on sale for it. Mario + Rabbids is on sale at Walmart. Does anyone own this game and, if so, how do you like it, or more specifically how do your kids like it?
  18. Does anyone know if the B2G1F includes used consoles? It says used products and I looked at last year's (I think) and it says the same thing and had pictures of the consoles.
  19. Thank you!
  20. I really thought that the ad would leak after the previous weekly ad, but I guess I was wrong. I am hoping the BF ad leaks before the 21st, but if not, oh well.
  21. This may be the first year that I don't have a bunch of stuff to hide. But, if I do have anything to hide, I have a big box in my closet. Everything will go in there. I usually wrap as I go. When my kids were younger, we wrapped all of the gifts and then put most of them under the tree. We always saved one or two gifts to put under the tree Christmas Eve from "Santa". Now everything goes under the tree (unless it is too big to wrap, then I hide it and put it out Christmas morning.
  22. I was coming to post the same thing! This is the one ad I am waiting on. My daughter has decided she wants the Nintendo Switch. She is not normally a big gamer, but she loves the idea of being able to take it on the go. I am actually going to put one on layaway today because I don't want to miss out on one, but I am hoping they have a sale on some of their games. My son is wanting an Xbox 360 or Xbox one, so I am hoping they have a good deal on one of those. I know the Xbox One will probably be at the 189.00 mark since that seems to be the trend, but wondering what kind of deal they will have on the Xbox 360.
  23. and still waiting on Gamestop...I was really hoping I was going to wake up to their BF ad this morning...
  24. I know. The closest one to us is 2 hours away and there is no way I can go that far to do our BF shopping.
