  1. MEEEEE! This year will be very different from years past! My husband just started teaching art part time in our local public school and in the local christian school. He is making less yearly, but it is steady income instead of a variable one. He is also back in school himself to finish his art education degree. We will use some of the leftover financial aid to buy Christmas for our kids this year. So I am really hoping to find some good BF deals!
  2. I actually did quite well! I didn't buy anything online before I went out. I was able to get nearly everything I wanted today. Here is a list of what I was able to get and our experience at each: Our local Walmart: (we live in a small town) It was very crowded! Once again this year they blocked off ALL aisles, except the three main aisles going down the middle of the store and the main back aisle. It was horrible. It took me about 30 minutes to get to the back of the store! It was crazy. The bad thing is that all of the main aisles led to checkout! So you couldn't go anywhere without getting stuck in the "checkout line". That being said, I was able to get what I wanted. 1. Xbox 360 for 99.00. They only had 8 of these 2. Stainless steel bowl set for 9.77 3. Crockpot for 9.77 4. food storage containers for 6.96 Then we drove 45 minutes to another town with more stores. Our next stop was Belks. They didn't have boots to fit my daughter and that was really all I was after there. My friend was able to get the jackets she wanted for her and her husband and a few other things. Next was JCPenney. I got my daughter a scarf, toboggan, and glove set. She has been wanting a scarf for a while. I also got her a pair of jeans. Then, we went to Target. I was able to get my daughter an Our Generation Doll and some accessories for it. We went to Old Navy and I bought a pair of jeans for each of us. We went to Academy Sports and I bought a shirt for each of my boys and a few fishing lures. I went to Gander Mountain and did pretty good. I was able to get my boys 8 Rapalas (B1G1F). I paid 3.50 after it was applied. I also bought them a few more fish bait. We went to another Walmart and guess what they had? TOWELS!!!! I was able to get 12 or 14 towels for 1.77 each, oh an bathcloths! They still had quite a few! This was at around 1:00 A.M. We laughed because that is always the first to go in our store..lol. I was also able to get a few movies. We stopped at Gamestop too, and I got one used game. Went to Home Depot and my friend got her husband's Christmas gift. It wasn't on sale, but it is what he wanted. Overall it was a good trip. I was at our local Walmart around 4 P.M. Thursday and we got home around 8:00 A.M. this morning. Oh yeah, I forgot, I wasn't able to get the Samsung tablet for my mom (from my dad), so instead, I ordered her the Kindle Fire (7 inch). It cost the same as the Samsung since there were not taxes on it.
  3. I will be shopping from 6 P.M. until whenever we are too tired to continue or we run out of money..lol
  4. Thank you Brad!
  5. I am looking at the Xbox 360 with Peggle. Do you know how many of those they have.
  6. Got my shirt today! Thanks Brad!

    Amazon deals

There is a specific forum for Amazon on this site. I know in the past they have put a chart of when some items were going to be available. So far they have not done that this year though. But, if you will go to the Amazon forum on this site, you can follow it a little easier.
  8. I think the Xbox 360 4 GB for 99.00 is a great deal. We don't have one and my daughter has been begging for a new game system (we are still playing on the Gamecube and our PS2 died. I also think the Straightalk phones are pretty decent deals. The iPad mini is a decent deal as well.
  9. For the one hour guarantees they gave us a ticket and we paid up front. I didn't get the actual item at the store, so not sure how they did it for those who were able to get the item that day. For the cheapest computer, they gave us a band, and then we had to be back in line by a certain time. For the cheaper computer, we checked out at the pharmacy counter. The person over there let us check out everything as long as you didn't have too many things. But, for some reason, it wouldn't let him check out the TV (well, the ticket for the TV). So, I had to get in another line to do that. But, I know they wouldn't let them check out anything else in some of the other departments.
  10. I wonder if you can put any of these items on layaway? I need to go back and read the fine print..
  11. Mine came right up, but the main item I am after (Xbox 360) wasn't on the map. If I remember correctly though, there were a few things not on there the last few years that they ended up having lines for. The small appliances are also not on there.
  12. YAY!!! So glad I worn a shirt... Congrats to the other winners!!! Thank you so much Brad. I love this site. I can't wait to wear my new shirt!!!
  13. I am rather disappointed.
  14. My husband and I don't usually buy much for each other (usually 10.00 or less). I am mainly asking for things that I need/want for around the house. I want a tortilla press. I also need a new coffee pot since I had to throw mine away last week. Walmart also has a stainless steel bowl set that I would really love and a griddle. But, most of all I would love for my husband to fix my dishwasher now that he knows how to fix it.
  15. If I lived close to a Bass Pro Shop it would definitely be on my stop list. My boys are avid fishermen and are going to begin deer hunting this year! If the shipping isn't too much, then I may try to order a few things online.
  16. We don't really do a lot of extras. We usually do the Angel Tree every year but it looks like this year will be missed It is very tight here this year and we are going to have a hard time just buying Christmas for our kids. My daughter and I do try to do some extra baking. She has requested that we make Gingerbread men this year. Today we made handprint ornaments. Tomorrow we will paint them. We will go to the Christmas parade. If I can afford to have Netflix turned back on, watch some Christmas movies (we don't have cable) or borrow some from someone. This is the first year that my daughter doesn't believe in Santa but I am hoping that I can talk her into sitting in his lap anyway Oh we read the Christmas story each day during our school day (we homeschool). This year, my daughter can read well enough to actually read one day. We will also memorize a few verses from it as well. We will probably also try to make some homemade Christmas gifts. We don't do a lot of extras, but we try to make it memorable.
  17. My family usually gets together the Saturday before or after Thanksgiving. We get together all the time though so if something happens and we can't get together it is okay. My husband's side of the family gets together Thanksgiving day usually around lunch. Once again, we see a good bit of each other all the time so if something were to happen and we couldn't get together it would be okay
  18. If I had $1000.00 to spend: Walmart List 1. Xbox 360 99.00 2. Laptop 159.00 3. Trampoline 158.00 4. Razor Bike 59.00 5. Huffy bike 69.00 6. Samsung tablet 99.00 7. Crockpot 9.97 8. Griddle 9.97 9. Better Homes and Gardens Stainless steel bowl set 9.97 10. Black and Decker Coffee Maker 9.97 (I had to throw ours out 2 days ago) 11. Gas Grill 99.00 Other Places 12. Tidy Cats Litter PetSmart 7.99 13. 29" TV-Target $ 79.00 For the last 131.00 I would probably buy games and movies from Target, Walmart, and Gamestop.

    1hr Guarantee

So did my dad. I think he got an Emerson instead of a Fuhu.
  20. I am really hoping that they offer the 360 as a lightning deal. I have 50.00 in Amazon gift cards (that I got by taking online surveys) and this is one of the main items on my list. So, I would love to only have to put out 50.00 cash! The main thing I am worried about is that I am not a Prime member so I am afraid they will sell out before I get a chance.

    1hr Guarantee

The one I ordered came a week before Christmas which worked perfectly for my dad because he didn't have to hide it as long..lol.

    Gamestop

Oh where oh where are you Gamestop? Last year they were about this time, I believe, but the year before it was later. I wish it would hurry up and come out!

    1hr Guarantee

I got a one hour guarantee TV last year for my dad. It was a very simple process. I got the ticket (I wasn't able to get the TV that day because I didn't rush over there since it was a one hour guarantee). I took it to the register and paid for it and if I remember correctly they gave me a code number. I got online the next day, put it in the code number and they shipped it to the Walmart Store.
  24. Gamestop is the only ad I am waiting on.
