  1. YAY!! Thank you so much! So excited! Congrats to the other winners.
  2. We live in a small town and a few years ago someone actually got arrested because of fighting over the towels..lol. The year after that, they had police officers handing out towels, 2 towels per person..lol. A funny story. We always go to our local Walmart first and then we go out of town to finish our BF shopping. I avoid the area with the towels because it just isn't worth it. After we'd gone to all the other stores in the other town, we went to their Walmart. There, sitting in the middle aisle, was a whole huge box full of towels and a huge box full of bathcloths..lol. This Walmart is in a college town and I guess no one wanted towels/bathcloths..lol. So, I was able to get as many towels/bathcloths as I wanted.
  3. I have gone back to college this year and will get a bit of a refund. So, some of that will be for Black Friday shopping. I am also working a lot of extra hours in October (co-worker will be out on maternity leave) so that will help as well. I am hoping to have at least 1200.00, but won't know until a week or two before. We are doing things a little differently this year with Christmas. We are thinking about drawing names for all the adults on my side of the family which would include: myself, my husband, my dad, my sister, her husband, our two sons (who are 21), and one of our son's wife (our other son isn't married). We will still buy for our daughter, niece, and nephew. But, we are going to put a $ 25.00 limit on gifts this year so that really helps our Christmas budget.
  4. Kept trying and trying and was able to get the Kodak camera for my daughter. I was going to order the iPhone 6 but it wouldn't be here until next Friday. My daughter has been saving her money and is buying that for herself. So, of course, she doesnt want to wait that long.
  5. I really don't want to spend a lot of money on one. She doesn't have any records or anything, she just thinks they are neat and mentioned wanting one. I may wait until i can do a little more research and have a little more money to spend on a better one. I've already bought her big gift and I am getting her a camera, so i just needed something around the 50.00 mark to finish her christmas.
  6. That is so sweet. I work at our local 911 center. My family is having our dinner Monday night so I think I may cook up a small menu and take it up there for those working Thanksgiving day.
  7. I don't understand why they just won't leak it already!! I believe all other Major ads are already out, so no reason not to go ahead and release theirs too. LOL. Trying to wait patiently, but it's not working.
  8. We are actually having our Thanksgiving meal Monday night because of everyone's work schedule and since my son got married this year and they will be spending Thanksgiving with her family (they live out of town). We normally have two separate meals, but this year we are doing one big meal for my side of the family and my husband's side to help make it easier on us and our kids. Here is the menu: Mother in Law: turkey English peas Potato salad My sister: (she has to work that day and won't get off until 5 so I told her just bring something simple) Rolls Drinks Dessert What I am making: (my dad is helping to buy some of this) Dressing Deviled eggs Homemade macaroni and cheese Turnip Greens Mashed potatoes Corn on the Cob Coleslaw Cranberry sauce Rice pudding Brown sugar pie (very similar to pecan pie, but without pecans) Coconut cake Buttermilk pie Peach cobbler I have to work Saturday night, then church Sunday morning, and then sleep after church. I plan on making the cornbread Saturday and putting it in the freezer. I will make a couple of other things Saturday as well and then I will probably make the deviled eggs Sunday. My dad will also be at home and he said he will help me. I am gonna cook most stuff at his house to I don't have to transport all the food, but I may go to our church and cook a few things since we have a double oven there..lol I am still working on my menu. I will be headed to grocery store in the morning.
  9. Thank you. that is the same brand I've been looking at. They have it on sale at Kohl's BF for around the same price I think. I can't get anything today, but if it is still available at that price Wednesday of next week I will go ahead and order it from Target. I think this brand will be fine for my daughter.
  10. For me, walmart has more of what I need. My daughter has been wanting a camera so the 99.00 Kodak will be good for her. She is buying the 99.00 iPhone with the money she's been saving for several months. And then just the small stuff I buy every year such as towels, bath cloths, plastic bowls, markers, etc. there are a few DVDs she wants as well but I am not sure if I will be able to get them or not because they are new movies. Hopefully amazon will have some. Still debating on the Nintendo Switch.
  11. I read that the needles can be changed out on it and that it actually includes one extra needle. I don't really want to spend more than 50.00 on one for her. She loves music and spends a lot of time listening to music. We homeschool as well, and it would be nice to be able to put a record of classical music on for her to listen to while she does her work. She also likes listening to the oldies..lol. Her paw paw has made sure of that.
  12. Thank you. I was looking at the suitcase type one. Many people were complaining about the sound, especially if you used it for Bluetooth. My daughter is 12 and doesn't own any records or anything, but loves music and is wantign to find some older records. I definitely wouldn't want the record player to mess them up.

    Record players

My daughter has mentioned wanting a record player. Does anyone own one of the newer modeled ones? I have read mixed reviews on it.
  14. I will probably keep it on my countertops because I have a feeling i am going to be using it so much, plus it won't fit in my cabinets. we have a pantry, but it is full of food and pots and pans. My husband is gonna build me a few storage shelves in the kitchen as soon as he has some free time (who knows when that will be.
  15. And the best part is the cleanup. It literally took me less than 5 minutes to clean (probably closer to 3 minutes).
  16. Okay, After reading this thread, I decided to unpack my airfryer and at least try it. So, today I fixed frozen popcorn shrimp and frozen steak fries. they are delicious and perfectly crispy! I did spray them with some cooking spray before cooking, but still much healthier than the food being submerged in oil. I have the 5.5 qt, and it is pretty big, but the perfect size for our family. I think I am gonna get my dad one now. He has been going out to eat nearly everyday and he said he is tired of that. I told him he needs an air fryer but his concern was how difficult it would be to use. But, after using mine today, I know he will easily be able to use it. He will need a small one because it is just him (my mom passed away last year). so, now gotta go back through the ads and try to find the best deal.
  17. I've not even looked at the entire ad and I've seen quite a few things. The 20% off multipack dining gift cards is definitely something I will be trying to get. And I've seen a few other things that are the same price as at Walmart (such as the Xbox 360 live card). If they are on sale at 7 a.m., when the store opens, then I will pick those items up from Dollar General instead of trying to find it at Walmart. That will allow me to focus on the other things I need at Walmart.
  18. I usually get there around 3 hours before and have time to scope things out and then get in line. Sometimes there are several things I need that we have to stand in line for. So, when that happens my 2 sons and my husband will usually stand in line. This year though, I am sure my son will be helping his wife so won't be able to stand in line for me. I know that my daughter and my other son wants the Iphone 6. My daughter is 12 so I am going to let her stand in line for her phone since her brother will be in line as well. I am planning on getting the 99.00 TV for my son who is still at home, so my husband will probably stand in line for that so I can grab the other stuff I need. I am hoping some of the movies are online because I am never able to get those.
  19. That's kind of my thinking as well. If we decide to get the Switch, I think I will try to get the one from Kohls (if they are available online). If not, I will just get the one from Walmart.
  20. Probably getting a Nintendo Switch. I am debating between Kohls deal (includes case, system, and gaming headset and 90.00 kohl's cash) or the basic deal everyone else has which is the system with mario kart 8. Either way you pay around 230 for the system alone after you factor in the cost of the game or accessories. My thought is that with deal at Kohls I would be able to use the 90.00 in Kohls cash to get more stuff the following week, but those items will not be on sale. Mario Kart 8 is one of the main games my daughter wants.
  21. And I am still waiting on the Gamestop ad...lol. My guess is that they are waiting until after the Pro members weekend is over before releasing the Black Friday ad. So, hopefully sometime after midnight we will see it.
  22. I've mentioned it. The biggest reason I won't just come out and ask him is because I am not sure how much it will cost. I wouldn't want to ask him specifically for that and then him not be able to get it because of the cost. It would just make him feel bad.
  23. Do you have the Power Air Fryer brand? The one I bought from QVC is 5.5 quart.
