  1. I put my Credit Card, Debit Card, Gift Cards, ID, Cash and one check in a zippered pouch and it goes into my coat (zippered) pocket. In the other coat pocket holds the store ad and my list. That way my hands are free to grab things. I do bring my purse along but it stays in my locked trunk.
  2. I do both lists and the ads. Since I don't bring in a purse or bag. I put my money and my list, along with the store ad, in my zippered coat. I drive from store to store and bring only the ad of the store I'm going into with me. When I'm done and back in the car I switch out the ads in my pocket for the next store.
  3. If I were you I would ask the manager at your local Walmart since they would be the person most likely to know.
  4. If you mean the 10% an Apple Ipod coupon it is located at Target's website under coupons - http://coupons.target.com/electronics-coupons
  5. When I click on the link above and the one Amazon emailed me, the Friday and Saturday deals are not listed anymore. I remember them being on there earlier...perhaps they are doing some changes?!
  6. I'm still waiting on this one too but here it is called "Herberger's." Last year they released it on their website before I saw it on here. I just keep checking their site but nothing yet... I'm also anxious to see what coupons Barnes & Nobles will have along with Scheels, Hallmark, and a few other smaller stores.
  7. The original BF Youtube video describes the events leading up to her actions and subsequent conviction. Her conviction is quite mild compared to her outburst... - in the description box, it is a bit long.
  8. I have been putting money and change aside, the week of BF I bring all my change to the bank and cash it in. Throughout the year, I earn rewards on my credit/debit cards and I redeem them for gift cards for Target and Best Buy.
  9. We are looking for a smaller tv for the game systems. Besides that, I really hope this year's DVD/TV selection is better than last year.
  10. My first post on the Black Friday 2011 forum I'm glad others are just as excited and pumped as I am for BF and are making lists! I try to keep myself from talking about it and thinking about it too much until after Halloween but that plan rarely works! Last BF was great but afterwards I took a few lessons away from it. Wal-Mart’s splitting of times really sucked; by the time I got there (around midnight right after they started their midnight sale), all their movies were picked over more than it was in the past BFs. Since I really just wanted movies, I found it tedious to get to the movie areas since they roped a lot of places off for their other BF sale. The second lesson learned is that I should utilize Amazon's online sales leading up to BF more since they had great items last year. The last lesson is that we need to get to Target earlier. We would prefer to wait in the cold and be in the top ten than sleep longer and be #30 or 40.
  11. I would wait maybe 30 minutes in case they had to use the restroom but a minute longer I'm moving to the front. This is BF not a parade...
  12. Sometimes people's "fantasy worlds" are they only way they can deal with their real world. I guess you do not participate in such things as reading, watching movies, playing pretend with your kids or daydreaming. If people want to spend their time surrounded by family and/or friends waiting in line and making memories, having some laughs and creating traditions, who are you to judge? The problem with society is that people think it's their role to judge and "police" people whom they know nothing about. What seems stupid or trivial to some, means the world to others. To those in line - Keep up the updating and good luck!!
  13. Well I've only done this once about 2 years ago. My sister was first in line at Target and I had gone over to Walmart (this was when Walmart opened at 4 and Target at 5) and grabbed what I needed and then came back to Target. Since she was first, she had made friends with the people behind her and told them that I would be back (I had been waiting with her before going to Walmart). The people she was talking to didn't mind since we were only going for a two different doorbusters and some smaller things. I did, however, see some looks from people who didn't know directly what was going on. This year I plan on dropping my sister off at Target again with two chairs and hitting up Walmart's midnight sale. I am hoping to get back to Target by 1:30 to wait for the rest of the time with her and do not forsee a problem. The problem, mainly, is the last minute joining that irks people.
  14. I only want some of the movies/Blu-Rays in the Midnight sale. Then I'm heading back over to Target to wait with my sister until they open. I plan on dropping her off at Target around 12:30-1am and will get to Walmart around that time and see what happens.
  15. The last few years at our Target they have spread DVDs and TVs on two or three cardboard stands in the juniors/women clothing section and they also had some in the TV series section. Also had some on the front of the rows were they have the new releases for DVDs and CDs. Now that I think of it they might even take away some of their lesser known titles for more space but I'm not exactly sure...
  16. I recieved a email today from B&N stating the following: "Here's a Sneak Peak at our Biggest Black Friday Ever." From now until Wednesday they are doing a sale on movies anywhere from 30%-50% off both in stores and online. They also have their Criterion Collection (DVDs and Blu-Rays) half off. Cookbooks are buy one get one half off and up to 50% off over 100 toys and game selection. Also if you buy $100 in gift cards you get $10 gift card free. If you are not already signed up to recieve coupons or promotional things - do so because it says it there will be more sales throughout the week!
  17. A bit off topic but in the last few days I've gone to the Target twice and in those two trips I saw four different new employees. All four of them had the "new team member" badges and the only thing that crossed my mind was "remember their faces and avoid them like the plague on Friday..." I know it sounds bad but there is nothing worse than a cashier with a "deer in the headlights" expression. I understand retailers hire seasonal workers but on BF I need to be in and out!
  18. Herbergers/BonTon/Younkers or whatever the numerous regional names has now posted their Black Friday Ad on their websites for viewing. They are opening an hour earlier (well who isn't at this point?!) at 3am and the sale goes until 1pm. As in the previous years, along with the paper ad are coupons and their $10 off anything over $10 coupon to be used only on BF.
  19. Our Target has a different layout that this link and is not a Super Target, but here is what I remember from last year: 32" Westinghouse - located in the isle by the baby and shoes section Apex TV - located in the isle by the women's plus size Ipods - electronics Camera - on the isle shelf of the first aid/feminine product isle Digital picture frames - where were they usually are GPS - I don't remember for sure but I think they were in the electronic section Portable DVD players - on pallets in the main isle between greeting cards and kid's clothing Sheets/Blankets - on front isle shelves in the bedding section DVDs/TVseasons - seperated into different areas, two or three cardboard stands were in the beginning of the juniors/women's clothing while others were in the TV season section Most toys (unless they are big) - located in the toy section
  20. I have never been at a Target on BF that has ever done tickets, maybe that is just my area. We've gotten TVs the last two years at Target and they have been pretty good. Last year I got the 32" Westinghouse and they had employees around the pallet of TVs with carts and were putting TVs in the carts for you. I basically quickly grabbed a cart and went. The last few years we've been either first or in the top five and I have noticed that, for us, people really have not rushed the doors and started running until we were already inside and close to our doorbusters.
  21. These Target commercials are hilarious! I've been going to their website in the mornings to see the new "tip" and look forward to the next ones!
  22. According to the article linked: "From past experience, they know some items will be in short supply, and that means they have to be on guard for people who stretch the rules. 'You don't know how many friends at the last minute that are gonna come in and squeeze in the line.' Lorie Davenport said. Lest you think the Davenports plan to stay every hour of the day, there is a small detail you should know. They stay in line by day but another family spells them at night. The families are saving spots for a total of 10 people. It appears stretching the rules may be open to interpretation." How idiotic to say that line jumpers are bad (duh!) but then they intend on doing it themselves. A bit hypocritical…and as other poster have noted before other shoppers will not be very pleased with ten additional people all of a sudden joining the front. If that is what they plan on doing, I hope the people behind them get vocal about it! However, they have seven days to figure it out.
  23. It may not work for some things, for example DVDs/Blu-Rays at Walmart since Walmart puts special stickers on their movies that verify that they are part of the BF deal. Also, I believe, many BF deals have a common or special scan code and if you hid something that was scanned in with the BF group, the sku may not register the correct price. The cashier may or may not question it. Personally I don't agree with stashing just because it feels a bit like cheating...but again that is just my opinion.
  24. With or without my stuff I will be freezing my rear-end off in line at Target by 2am
  25. Also try cafe press, I went through them a few years ago for shirts, also have used them to make custom shirts for our dad since he is hard to buy for. He loves the shirts and always wears them!
