  1. I'm really hoping that they put up an actual movie calendar for the entire week instead of this "today and the next two days" thing that they have going.

I saw on their commercial last night that they will have up to 25% off store wide Friday-Monday. I would call your store and see if you can get any more info about it!
  3. Some decent stuff in the preview but I'm hoping for a lot more in the full ad!! I like that they are opening at midnight (even though I wouldn't be there until 5am or so)...
  4. My parents will get the ads in their Wednesday paper since they live out in the country. I will usually get two more papers (different ones) at the gas station around 5am before I start getting ready to meet everyone at church. I've never had problems finding them but then again I'm usually there very early.
  5. For me the ads/doorbusters could never be good enough to warrant skipping Thanksgiving to stand in line. The horrible store hours solidified the fact that the stores couldn't even pay me to stand in line this year and miss spending the holidays with my family. So I guess I went into seeing the ads with my mind made up. I'll wait on Amazon for the movie deals and try at 4am on Friday morning and see what's left. Anything that I don't get on BF, I will wait and see for the weekly ads leading up to Christmas and if I have to pay a little more, then I will.
  6. I thought it was an okay ad. We don't need any of the big doorbusters this year and we will not be doing the horrible opening time. Nothing there, for me, was worth missing/cutting short Thanksgiving. I really liked the $10 GC offer from 4am-noon and will probably go out around that time and see what's left over. Hopefully by then all the bystanders will have gone home!
  7. Thanks!! I look forward to seeing it in color but at least we know what's in it! We don't need much this year for BF so I wouldn't be doing the opening. There are some decent sales but overall not "miss Thanksgiving and stand in line" worthy. I like the $10 offer for 4am-noon and I will probably hit up Target, and some other stores, around that time and see what's left. I assume Amazon will price match the movies and will keep an eye out over there.
  8. I too dislike these early times. I think our BF of the past is now gone and so is our family's BF traditions with it. Every year I would look forward to BF and started a mental countdown in August. That started to change last year when everyone, and I mean everyone, was out and about at the midnight openings. So many around us in line stated that it was their first time doing the opening times. Groups of young teenagers were everywhere just watching and rushing the doors - it seemed for the heck of it. A lot of observers who wanted to see what it was about and had no game plan and were always in the way. Last year soured it for me. In the past, my mom, sister and I would gather around the table with pie and the ads spread everywhere and make a game plan. It was a tradition. As my younger siblings have gotten older, we no longer need the hot toys and none of us want TVs or electronics. So this year I will buy online though Amazon and a few stores. I'll probably go out still around 5am or 6am on Friday and see what's left. I'll also go out on Saturday for those that have sales. The weird thing is that, oddly enough, I'm not really mad/sad about not fully participating this year. Because if I had to choose between Thanksgiving dinner with my family or waiting in line - I'll choose Thanksgiving every time. I don't need any blockbuster deal that badly.
  9. From what I remember in the past they don't really have a sale, only a few coupons for special items (like toys, games, home items) and a few generic book coupons. I wish they would do more! The one by me only opened an hour or two earlier last year and it is connected to the mall!
  10. Since I love wrapping gifts, I always hit up Michaels for their ribbon on Black Friday. Truthfully I'll probably go there on BF and the day after! I just wish they had more deals on baking supplies...
  11. Yup, I've been having the same issue. It seems to be a bit better now then before...
  12. No one at our Best Buy in Southern MN, my brother-in-law (who works there) said they expect people to start coming early tomorrow morning.
  13. Today I called one of my local Walgreen's and they are not a 24 hour store, so he said they open at 7am on BF. Since he sounded a bit unsure I think I may call again tomorrow...
  14. LOL! I'll meet you at the corner of the yellow brick road, right by the house with the feet under it!
  15. NEVER!!!! I like that one too!Talking about sleep deprivation, right now I'm trying to get a bunch of baking done while keeping up with Amazon, phone calls and cleaning. I keep telling myself that if I hurry and get everything done I can take a nap...but I will probably procrastinate and sleep another 4 hour night! I need a holiday from my holiday!
  16. I love the crazy Target lady! I wish they did new "tips" everyday leading up to BF, like they did last year and shown in the links above. My favorite of those commercials is this one - - because I must look exactly like that right before they open the doors!
  17. Since my parents live in the country they will get the Thanksgiving paper today with all the ads. My mom is going to call me later and let me know what ads they got so I can pick up two different papers tomorrow morning, just to make sure we get all the ads!
  18. I don't get it! If you go to a store days before BF and you see 15 or so people already waiting there wouldn't you go and find a different Best Buy? I don't know I guess if I was to wait at BB for days, I would at least want to be the first or in the first 5 in line! Unless of course these 23 people all know each other...
  19. Black Friday weather for Southern MinnesotaLow of 36° and a high of 50° Partly Cloudy, Shower Late I agree that it will be oddly warm here on BF. Anything will be better than last year when there was a horribly cold windchill. It was so cold I could barely feel my hand/feet warmers!
  20. No problem! It's seems to be the same as the previous years but it is always a good BF stop for the necessities and household staples.
  21. I posted about the Bon-Ton ad yesterday. Here is the link to the thread - Herbergers/Bon-Ton/Younkers Ad
  22. Target only carries a limited number of their Black Friday items. So, the iPod touch will sell out, of course it will vary based on location and community size. Since Target's BF ad carries attractively priced TVs and game systems, it is possible that the majority of the people in the front of the lines are going after those first. The major thing I need at Target are 2 iPods and I will be arriving at my smaller Target in a mid-size town around 8-9pm and am confident I will get them.
  23. The Black Friday ad for Herbergers/Bon-Ton/Younkers (the store with many names...) can be seen online under the store's website. Herberger's Bon-Ton Younkers If you click on the link, the BF ad can be seen on the right-hand side. Since they are from the same company, the above ads are the same, the name changes based upon it's location.
