My mom is an avid reader so for Christmas we got her an Amazon Kindle. If I won a thousand bucks I would buy a nice LCD TV!! If you don't want to spend it all on yourself or your family, you could take a hundred or two and do some Sharing/Giving/Angel Tree or see if there is a family in need and get them some everyday things (like towels, bedding, food cards). I know it would really brighten someone's holiday and probably help you through this difficult time.

I don't feel too stressed at all but then again I don't have kids (I'm 21) but since I have four other siblings and three of them are in grade school and high school, my older sister and I tend to have to be the ones fronting the bill for our mom and dad's Christmas gifts. This year, unlike the past, we are just getting them each one big gift (Mom is getting the Kindle and my dad is getting a box full of TV seasons and games for the Wii). We also have three exchange students who we are getting gift cards for. Last year the Credit card just keep going up so this year we started Christmas shopping back in mid-october to spread it out a bit. Also I saved up my rewards on my cards for gift cards expecially for BF. As of right now I have $25 to Best Buy and $95 for Target and I've been saving up change throughout the year so time to cash that in as well.

LOL Not when you are at Kmart at 1am on Thanksgiving day to get the Wii!! In our area we are considered one of the first people at Walmart when we get there around 3am!! When we go by Target (about a mile from Walmart) on our way to Walmart there are maybe 15 people outside, BB is around 30 people!!

Since my parents live on a farm, this year all us siblings (ages from 12-22) are taking the Christmas picture in front of an old barn. We are going to stand in front of the sliding red door and since we just painted it last summer it'll look like a mix of old with new.

Since I live with my sister at her house, this weekend our younger brother is coming over and helping us put up lights, he gets to climb on the roof! Next weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, I'll probably do our parents' house.

If your parents are avid readers the Amazon Kindle is kinda a neat thing. That's what we are getting our mom for Christmas. Maybe a nice video camera so they can take video of all you guys together...I know for my parent's anniversary we are thinking of converting all the home videos from VHS to DVD for them and compacting them. For our dad he loves various TV shows so we are buying him a bunch of TV seasons. Or how about a his/her digital frames, have pictures of the grandkids and you siblings uploaded onto the digital frames, his frame could have pictures with him and vise versa with her.

Ours is a 24hr so we wait around the pallets or the electronic section, its really quite nice because we don't have to get up super early! We usually are there around 3:30

Thanks to all that put time into this!! This is by far the most interesting and well organized BF forum around!! SO THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Besides the Walmart ad, I'm wanting to see the Herbergers ad.
-
I believe the Macy's ad is already out and posted in the sale ads area.
-
$8.98 each season at Target to be exact
-
We are really liking the TV at Target so unless Walmart has a better deal we will split up this year, which will be a first. My sister and another person will wait at Target while my mom and I hit up Walmart. So the order will go Walmart/Target, Bath and Body Works, Best Buy. My mom usually hits up Herbergers and Kohls somewhere in the mix.
-
I'm liking the DVDs and TV seasons, the 26' TV, and various home items (like the super soft blanket), etc..
-
We'll probably hit stores up in this order: 1 and 2 - Target/Walmart - have to see Walmart's ad and see which has the best TVs prices 3. Bath and Body Works 4. Best Buy 5. Sears While my sister and I wait for Target my mom hits up Herbergers and after Target she hits up Kohls. Then go to a smaller town and hit up Target and Walmart for things missed. I will also do some online shopping at Circuit City

Okay so now the BF ad is up what do you guys think of the DVD selection? I think a lot of the 3.98 and 5.98 movies, besides like three, were there last year when I got them. So I was hoping for a bit more of a variety. I liked that they had Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda for $13 though but was thinking that Hancock, Sisterhood 2, Tropic Thunder and Fred Claus which all come out this week or the next would be on there! Target has a really great selection of TV seasons that I hope to get some of those!
-
I wish they had more selection in the TV areas! Does anyone remember/know if Target had secret sales like BB and Walmart did last year?
-
The main reason I think for there being really no tvs on the list is the fact that, so far, there are very few and not really even any "doorbusters" since the prices seem to be close to what they are....I'm still holding out hope though...
-
So far it looks like Circuit City has the best selection of DVDs for BF. I'm hoping Target and Walmart have a bigger selection than BB did!
-
This is probably the best selection of DVDs we have seen yet! I'll try to order a bunch of them online since there isn't a CC close!
-
There is a VERY nice selection of DVDs that I think I will get some online since we don't have a CC within an hour of us. Has any or does anyone know if I shop online on BF will the stuff still be there around noon? That's about the time I'll probably be back from shopping. Will it state when the deals start online?
-
Is anyone else just seeing ONE tv listed? Hopefully they will have a little more selection.
-
Pretty good list. Interested in the TV for $299. They have a better selection of DVDs than the BB BF ad when it comes to newer releases but alot of the movies in both the 3.98 and 5.98 were there last year and I got them then! Overall its good, just looking forward to the ad scan - its a bit easier to comprehend with the pictures!! But thanks soooo much!
-
I usually just go to BB after Target and Walmart for left-over DVDs and I have to say I was quite disappointed with the DVDs this year! What about the big titles that just came out/or will before BF like Hancock, Tropic Thunder, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Fred Claus, Sisterhood 2?? And the TV seasons what more popular ones - 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, etc...? I guess I'm just a bit confused by it!!!

Anyone know if Westinghouse is a good TV brand? If it is that 26' for $199 is pretty good...
