jendeere replied to sweetdiggity's topic in Online Hot Deals
Oh my gosh, thanks! I have been wanting to pick this up -
I haven't seen anything that exciting other than the $100 gc bestbuy & amazon were offering. I jumped on that one, didn't think it would get any better but my luck there will be a better deal I was hoping for a huge game bundle but I don't think there will be one with a large amount gift card and a big bundle. If that made any sense?

We have always done PJ's on Christmas eve and open presents Christmas morning. How old is your nephew? If he is older than your youngest (and no longer believes) I would think that everyone involved would like to help keep it special for your youngest. In our family (extended), the older kids are amazing at helping to keep the spirit alive for the little ones.

I'm just curious if its the actual game, or the digital download because amazon's bundle comes with a digital download of the carnival game. Wait, which bundle did you get? The 4gb or the 250gb? The carnival game digital download came with the 250 gb on amazon is what I meant. Glad you were able to get a system for your family!

You got your names already? I can't wait to get mine!

Any ideas if Walmart will be having another "secret sale"?

It seems like it was a small list like this for the Saturday sales last year, but I could be mistaken. -

With The Economy This Year Are You Cutting Back for Black Friday?
jendeere replied to bfaddict1977's topic in 2011
My spending will probably be about the same. My DD asked for the xbox w/kinect last year and I told her no since we have every other game system and didn't feel like she needed it. She is STILL asking for it though, so I think that will be her big gift this year and then a few smaller things. A few years ago we started drawing names on my families side, so that makes things a little easier. We set a $50 budget so that is much easier to only buy for the names we draw and not $50 for every family member like we were doing before. I wish we could do the same thing on DH's side, but we are the only ones who buy presents so that wouldn't really work After years and years of buying for his family and them not reciprocating, I started only buying for the kids (and typically spend around $50) and told him if he wants to buy gifts for his siblings then that's up to him. As for our parents, we usually spend $50-$100 each, just whatever we find they might like. As far as what we spend on each other, I usually pick out something he has been wanting or needing and then get myself something around the same price. He waits until the very last second to shop for me and since I always buy my bigger gift, he just grabs a few small things and wraps them. My friend also does the "something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read". I might try that this year for dd, Xbox for the want, I have a few outfits for her already but can't for the life of me think of something she needs??? -
I love looking at all the ads in advance and making my plan.
-
I agree with you, but most people are so excited with whatever they get. I know I am I do all of our shopping and usually my own so its nice to get an actual surprise.
-
This year we will be at our in-laws in a different city so it will probably be just me and my 76 year old father-in-law. He isn't much of a shopper but is up that early anyway so the past few years he has started tagging along. Its nice to have the company and someone else to stand in line if we need more than one of something. He hardly ever buys much but always pushes the cart or helps me carry stuff. I have gone alone before and its not that bad because I'm not stuck waiting on anyone or trying to find each other in the crowd. But I don't mind the FIL coming with me, he mostly just follows me around or stays with the cart so its a win-win situation My 12 yo DD said she might go this year but when it comes down to it, I doubt she will want to get up so early. My DH went one year, and refuses to go again and it wasn't even early, lol it was like 9 am! He would rather spend 5x the amount on something than wait in line or be in a crowd.

Sorry, I didn't read all the other responses so I hope none of these are repeats! 1. Just another black friday eve.... 2. Sucks to be you!! 3. Oh man! I can't believe I agreed to this

I don't think its bad at all to have 2 different cards with you on Black Friday. It never fails, every year on BF my sister's bank denies her card for "suspicious activity" and she has to wait until the bank opens to get it straightened out. I never put more on my credit card than I can pay off when the statement comes, I don't ever carry a balance. I personally only take my debit card a credit card and my ID and keep them in an inside zippered pocket of my coat. No purse to worry about and keep track of.

Unfortunately, spray bottles have never worked on my cats 2 weeks ago we added 2 kittens to our family and I'm dreading the decorating part of Christmas. We are in the process of renovating the family room/library/office/scrapbook room into just a scrapbook room and I think we might have to put the tree in there this year, since the door can be closed and keep the little monsters out. When my twin cousins were babies my aunt hung the tree from the ceiling.

Has anyone had good look with LED icicle lights?
jendeere replied to canfleece's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My husband switched over to the LED ones a few years back. We love them. They were purchased from Walmart though and I'm not sure of the brand. No rusting here.
