I got: a kindle touch (didn't want the fire since it will be strictly for reading and its easier on my eyes, plus have a touchpad already) entire collection of home improvement, I think its 8 seasons 4 or 5 new John Deere tee shirts plus a John Deere hoodie All of the Anne of Green Gable movies (have them on vhs but they are wore out!) $150+ in amazon gift cards Black Eyed Peas game for Kinect John Deere scrapbook stuff plus my parents bought us a huge cooking stove thing for camping, they were so impressed they thought of something we don't already have lol. We never bought it for ourselves because we were perfectly happy with our small stove but it will be nice to have a larger one. I got other random crap I can't remember at the moment and we haven't had Christmas with the in-laws yet. I hope everyone else had an awesome Christmas too!

Free or nearly Free roll of Duct Tape at Walmart (YMMV)
jendeere replied to setlok73's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I wish they were that cheap at my Walmart! My DD 13 has been making stuff out of duct tape for the last year or so. Wallets, hair things, bracelets, neck ties, skirts, etc. Yeah, some of it is goofy but the kids at her school love everything she makes and she has orders for stuff all the time. I finally told her to start charging for it because its not cheap lol. They have some really cool patterns and colors, too. -

How many rolls of wrapping paper did you use or will you use?
jendeere replied to hillbillyswife's topic in 2011
Are you talking about the 20-40 square foot rolls like from the $1 store? I mostly use the 200 square foot rolls from Walmart and have gone through 2 of them so far. I like variety under my tree too, and have used up some from last year also. -
What do you get them? I am nearly finished now, just have to pick up a gift card for mil (the only thing she asked for), a friend jokingly said I don't even need to put any money on the gc because she will never use it still have to do for the teachers, we are getting down to the grind and was going to make the gifts but have to wait until this weekend when we go out of town to buy the rest of what we need. Otherwise they will probably get chocolates or something else boring. Waiting on a few more gifts to come in the mail but other than that I am finished. Even got all the stuff for stockings. I always put out our nice stockings on the mantle but secretly fill the old ones so I can make sure I have enough stuff for them and then just transfer it all on Christmas eve.

speaking of talking to a foreigner, I forgot till now that one of the times I called I got someone who answered speaking in what I assumed was spanish. I was like "hello??" lol and he said you have reached the bilingual line and I said, "oh I was just wanting to talk to someone about my return"and he hung up on me!

I ordered DH's present on 11/27 and it got here 12/2. I'm glad I decided to open the box before wrapping it because it was the wrong item. I called them and they said they were sorry, did I want to reorder? I asked them if they could just send out the right tool and they said no, I would have to reorder. So I placed the new order and she said she would send me an email with the return authorization thing to mail back the wrong item and they would credit my acct once they got it back. I thought that was pretty crummy since it was there mistake. I never got the authorization, so I had to call back 3 different times over the course of a week before it was finally sent to me this past monday. My second order still hadn't shipped when they sent the return authorization email and they didn't know when it would ship. On Tuesday my friend told me he was going out of town and said he would just pick it up for me. So I called and asked if they could change the order to instore pickup. Of course they couldn't so I canceled the order and reordered for instore pickup. Yesterday morning I got an email that the 2nd order had shipped (after they said it was canceled! and had been "in process" for almost 2 weeks) and then my friend called and said he picked up the 3rd order with out any problems. According to my ups tracking number, they are supposed to get the 1st return back tomorrow so hopefully I will have the funds back from that soon and then will just return the 2nd order when it finally gets here. Talk about frustrating! I told DH I am done shopping from sears online. It really sucks because they sell his favorite brand of tools and the nearest store is 2 hours way! GRRR nearly $600 tied up in this mess. At least customer service was nice every time I called. Not very helpful, but nice. Has anyone else had issues dealing with them? I'm just afraid the 2nd order is going to be the wrong tool, too. I guess I am just spoiled by amazon's amazing and hassle free customer service.

Here is the picture of my OE, I had to quickly take a picture so my cats didn't destroy it (the little monsters!!) Also got an M&M's candy cane but it didn't make it into the picture. Thanks so much for the goodies, the unbreakable ornaments went up on the tree (as high as I could reach) and the more fragile ones I am putting up until next year when the kittens aren't so rowdy (hopefully!!) Love them all, and the nail polish is great! P.S. the picture doesn't do the glass/crystal one justice, it is so pretty! And the pinecone one is so unique, I love it! http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q16/jendeere/003-1.jpg

I do this too lol! I can't cut in a straight line either! It drives DH crazy how I wrap presents, I never measure and sometimes have to cut more paper because its not a big enough piece. He on the other hand drives me crazy too! He gets out the tape measure and his wrapping looks like a professional did it. Yeah, it looks nice but its going to get ripped off in 2 seconds flat so who cares?? We rarely wrap presents together lol I've probably got 100 rolls of paper in my spare room, I buy it during the days after Christmas when its like 90% off. I don't know how long it takes me, but I usually save it all for Christmas eve and it takes forever. I don't like doing it in advance because I forget what I have bought and wrapped but this year I have already started wrapping. Anything that goes under the tree has to be in another box or something though in case one of our naughty kittens unwraps it. I do keep a spreadsheet of my purchases but sometimes forget to update it and then find a bag or box that I have to wrap last minute.

I bought this last time they had it and hung it in hubby's garage....he hasn't taken it down yet

Sounds just like my mil. This year she asked for a walmart gift card but the woman never leaves the house (seriously, she makes my fil a list and he gets what she needs when he runs errands) so I don't know when she will use it. Maybe like the laptop fil got her 3 years ago and she hasn't even taken it out of the package

Vacuum Recommendations and New Carpet
jendeere replied to ClosedAcct's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I LOVE my dyson. I don't think there is anything that I don't like about it and I've had it 4-5 years. I don't really have any advice about the shedding, but you can take the bar off and clean all the crap off of it. Our last 2 vacuums had the bar thing lock completely up and so now with my dyson I have had DH take it off every few times I vacuum to clean it. I don't want to ruin my dyson. I have really long hair and that bar gets full in no time. Is that what you are talking about? The bristly bar thing? Oh, and I didn't know about your new house. Congrats!! -
I would say I am about 80% done. My immediate family is done but no idea what to get my sister and 3 friends we usually buy for. DD and I need to get her teachers gifts made, otherwise I will end up buying them instead if we run out of time. I still need to buy a few more gifts for people but know what I am getting them.

where at? I went to smencils.com and didn't see these items.

I was 10 when I found out. My dad asked me to help him haul out some "trash" to our camper. I was wondering why we weren't taking it to the trashcan instead, but whatever. We were taking out several big black garbage bags and one of them I was carrying wasn't tied all the way. I looked down and saw a wrapped present and the label said "To Kimmy, From Santa" I was pretty pissed lol. I was always really good about helping keep the spirit alive for the younger ones though.

I searched high and low in my tiny town to find the perfect ornament for my person. Ended up ordering it from amazon so my person will know who I am when they get it but I wanted to get something they would like instead of some generic ornament.
