What a night/morning got to Target at 11:30 friend and I were first and second in line with 8 people behind us. At about 4:00 three girls walk up and are standing by the door with us, saying they were employees and were allowed to be at the front of the line. So when the manager opened the door to let real employees in I mentioned this fact to her, she looked at the girls and said they are not employees here. So I said how we had all been waiting since 11:30 and it was ridiculous that they would cut in line and lie. Well she said I understand and went back in the store, about 5 minutes later with a line that extended around the building a security guard came up and escorted the girls to the back of the line. So after that we got through target, got the nerf gun and 5 scooters, grabbed starbucks and were across the street at walmart by 5:17, walmart was busy but we were at kmart before they opened, grabbed what we wanted there and were at Joannes before 7 and home by 8.

Another sucessfull Black Friday at Best Buy. :)

First in line at 9:45 AM Wednesday with two buddies of mine. :cheesy:

The take home: 23 items for 12 different people (friends and family of course!) - Spent $3,566.37 and saved (against retail) $2,868.07. In addition, I earned $11.20 in fuel perks using gift cards so I will get $336 in free gas!

What did I get for myself? Three items - 1.5 TB HDD (for me) and the Insignia 5 mp Camcorder (for one of my boys), and the $197 HP Laptop (for wifey) - total spent ~$440.

Time well spent? I think so. I know 12 people that better agree. ;)

Walmart was a mess.... we have always had a peaceful day in a small town. this year with their new rules, they created lines then changed them around at 1am. had people going to the wrong lines. decided that they didnt want to anger the people that had created their OWN line for the laptops instead of the premade one, so they removed their ropes and said ok youre the line now.. i was very upset told the manager, am writing to walmart. It became very hostile and people were very rude. we have never had this happen. granted some may be econmy but i had teen girls saying they were going to knock me out and a preg. woman got told that someone was going to shove a cart in her stomach... we have never had anything like this happen. we are a small town and a safe town.. o r so i thought. I actually got out of line becuase i could not tolerate peoples behaviors and how crazy everyone was acting. I hope they change their plan and realize that what works in one store doesn't in all.. or simple.. give out tickets like at best buy where we wait outside and someone goes through and asks who wants want until tickets are gone. i went to target at 5:09 people running but not crazy and people helping other people find things... shame on you walmart.. you won no points this year.. target was 100x better!

I was the one handling the tickets for the sanyo 50 inch the sony 40 and 46 inch at our store. We had 6 of the 50, 8 of the 40 and 9 of the 46. When I left this morning there was two 50 left three 40 left and one 46 left.

We went to Walmart at about 2:45am,they had handed the last ticket out for the $198 lap top at 2am,so we went to the $298 HP laptop line and got a ticket,we were like 32 and I think they had a total of 45.

But it was a good experience, seemed very organized, lines were set up to snake though useless isles so they were not i nthe way,had the big yellow mylar ballons,as stated on here, so you knew where the big ticket items were, plenty of people to ask where items were,no waiting in the cold. All of the non big ticket items were out and you could grab them if you were not tied down to a line.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it appears there will be no more get up at 3 or 4 am and rush the doors and run to the items you want,it will be a matter of who doesn't need sleep and is willing to camp out in a isle at Walmart as early as midnight to get what you want.

I started out at Old Navy at 2 and actually got a wristband for the game, BUT, when I walked in the store and took my gloves off the wristband went flying and I didn't notice, so I didn't get that.

Got to Walmart a little after 3 and around 3:30 they actually unwrapped the pallets for non big-ticket items. I was able to get the things I wanted, went through self check out and was gone by 4:30.

After a quick stop at Belks, I was home and in bed by 5:30. Although I guess I will be going out a little later to other stores.

Same here. Everything I needed became available on-line including the HP laser that was $90 off with free shipping.

Slept in until 9 and am having coffee before heading off to the gym.

Totally would have been at home if I could have gotten the lego sets on TRU.com last night but due to issues with the site did not.

Went to TRU for the lego sets (Indiana and Mobile Command) at 4 am. Was in and out with both sets in less than 20 minutes. The nice TRU guy went to the back and even found the Mobile Command one for me.

most of what i wanted was thankfully online (B1G1F Radioshack CD-R's, Eyeclops Bionicam at Toys R US, etc.) I only went to 3 stores to get items today (Walmart for the $29 Router, Staples for the 4gb Memory stick pro duo, and Big Lots for a pre screened copy of "The Wrestler")

Walmart was amazing this year; I really liked the new system. Everything was organized and pretty straight forward. All the employees were helpful and pleasant too. Needless to say, I got everything I came for :D

I agree I went to wal-mart also, and there was a big difference then last year. I got everything I needed. Lines were outrageous but I went back to sporting goods there was no line at all. On my way out I let some people know who were at the back of them long lines to go to sporting goods.

Had an awesome walmart trip, the store I went to let us get stuff before 5am except for the line up stuff, so we walked around the entire store several times waiting on 5 so we could checkout and bought more than we would have if we had to wait, what a great idea to sell more stuff, lol.

My WM went ahead and gave us the computers @ 4 and checked us out. Then they started checking all doorbusters out. It was nice and peaceful, none of the madness or lines of years passed.

This morning was CRAZY. A friend of mine took her daughter and a bunch of her daughter's friends to TRU last night (I think they were all juniors in high school, with a few that may have been in their early 20s). Friend and I kept leaving and coming back with hot chocolate and snacks and we shared with the people around us so they were find with us coming and going. Line was crazy long by 1130 and people were starting to call the store to complain to the managers that other people were attempting to jump in line at the front. Management came out and handle out tickets for things, police showed up about 1145 and the TRU management made an announcement that they wouldn't open until it was orderly outside. Took the police nearly 30 minutes to get everyone out of the parking lot that was near the front of the store. Sadly, I was only there for three items but I was able to get all three (Fisher Price medical set for DD4, the Mega Bloks Smart Piano for DS1 and one for a birthday gift too). Managed to get a zhu zhu figuring DD4 would probably love it (or it would freak her out and I'd love her reaction LOL). Was in the parking lot headed to Walmart by 1.

Got to Walmart about 130, I saw three or four people pass me speeding and get pulled over so i stayed right at the speed limit. At Walmart we started walking around to see where everything was when we found the digital photo frames and and employee was telling other people to go ahead and grab one, so I did too. Saw where the PJs were and then headed to the toy department. Managed to find where most of the toys were when an employee came over to ask if he could help us (like 2 or 230am) and we said we were just waiting til 5 to get everything. He said to go ahead and get whatever we can without opening the pallets so my friend loaded up her cart with toys (she has 5 kids all under 10) and I grabbed the Leapster Laugh and Learn Table or whatever it is. Managed to get the container of Mega Bloks even though it was still covered in cardboard (my friend saw it in someone else's cart and told the empoyee that if that person could have it already then so would she and the employee just moved out of her way!) I also got 3 sets of girl's pjs, 2 girls hoodies, 4 sets of infant pjs, Madagascar 2, and then a Leapster game and the new Tinkerbell movie to price match the Target ad. After I picked up all the black friday sales stuff, it was only about 4 and so I went over to the food section and grabbed a few 12 packs of soda and a case of water for DS1's birthday party in a few weeks (slowly picking stuff up so it's not as much of a shock to our wallet when it comes to the last minute) Was in line at the register at 450 and in my car by 505!

Headed to Target and was in the store by 520. Still had the one movie Walmart didn't have (Sex And the City..for my FIL) and the Cars Shake and Go cars (for DS1 and DD4). Store was out of the crockpots (for MIL because she was watching DD4 for us this morning!). Cash register line was crazy because they had THREE of them, but people were nice and the line was moving pretty quickly.

The only thing that I didn't get was the Cricut, but that was mainly because DH and I had discussed it earlier in the week and decided against it right now but that maybe in a few months once things are settled with an insurance claim

My day was crazy. Absolutely insane. TRU was NUTS the line was an easy 3 hours long. Walmart was like a maze with all the roped off area's, and it made it even more confusing and congested. Target was OK....but I got stuck in a line with a guy buying like literally 50 of the cheap DVD's amongst other things, and he was making the cashier pric check each item first, THEN when she was all done ringing him up, he decided he should have done it in 2 orders so he could get 2 gift cards so he had her cancel it all and do it all over again. I wanted to strangle him. The best store was Game Stop. There was like only 2 other people in the store, it was so nice! (I went there around 9am) I have been up for 36 hours now. I did get everything I wanted though!

Got to the Hialeah Target at 4:45 a.m. - tried to wait for the line to go in, but it wouldn't stop! So finally headed over to the end of the line (which was past Lowe's back door-nobody in line at Lowe's). Electronics was a mess, but I got my PS3 controller and though they were trying to get everyone to check electronics out AT electronics, they were very reasonable and sent the controller to the front check outs for me. When I got up front there was a guy running around apologizing for the long wait (which was nothing, really, maybe a 15 minute line) and I mentioned to him about the controller and I had it in hand within about 3 minutes. While I was waiting in line, DH went to Gamestop in the same parking lot and was first in line.

So in summary:

Target:

3 T-shirts at $3 each

2 boy pants at $6 each

2 kid's jackets $7

RC truck $12.50

2 Leapster games $10 each (after coupon in Parenting magazine)

PS3 controller $39

700 tc queen sheet set $30

18V drill with Auto wrench $39.99

Queen air mattress $12

Men's hoodie $8.66

Gamestop:

PS3 bundle $299

Wii MySims agents $19.99

Lowes:

2 storage containers 2/$5.98

4 poinsettas 99 cents each

47-piece home tool set $9.98

Sears Essentials (which is a hybrid that if K-mart merchandise is in stock honors the K-mart sales prices):

metric and standard flex head ratchet set $29.99 each

4 boxes of pot of gold chocolates $3.99 each

LPS Africa set $19.99

200 tc twin sheet set $7.99

So we got EVERYTHING on our list, every store had everything we were looking for, and we had to stop as we were out of money, LOL!

We were at IHOP by 7:30. Our waittress couldn't believe we were done shopping. We got home by 8:30 and the kids were still asleep. We wrapped a few presents, looked over our goodies, and are currently decorating the house for Xmas! A GREAT BF!!

Started @ Kmart at 6am and got a few things. Tday dinner at noon. Then we went to Toys R Us at 8pm. I was number 11 in line. After an hour the manager emptied out the cart bay and the first 50 of us got to wait inside in the warm. So that was nice since it got down to 26 last night. Everything was moved around inside the store and it was impossible to find most things. They handed out tickets for all the big and numbered items. Got my zhu zhu pet and was out by 1215. Then went over to Old Navy and sat in line until 3 am. Got my Rock Band game, a coat for the kid and 3 performance fleece sweaters. I went home and picked up my mil. We headed to Walmart. They had lines for most items. I was able to get my digital picture frames and the other few things I needed. As usual the cheap pajamas clogged up the store and It was ridiculous trying to get thru the area and I didn't bother getting any pjs for the kid.

I was up for over 24 hrs straight. Had a good time, stuck to my list and can't wait for it next year!

Target was an absolute disaster  We went there first mainly for an external hard drive and the littlest pet shop tin. They had only had 5 hard drives and never got the LPS tin in!!! Oh, but I was told the LPS might be on the truck tomorrow so to check back  So I was so disgusted we left empty handed. I didn't see a single person with a 32" tv...not sure they even got those in either. So Target will get an oh so nice email from me about this experience and complaining about closing down the nice, big Target and only having rinky-dink sized one now.

Got to Walmart around 5:30 & got everything I wanted! and I thought they would be the ones out of stuff. They still had some of the tvs even left! Was tempted, but didn't buy one. Got the hard drive there (they had at least 50 still left), a Cricut cart, photo collage frame, & dvds.

Then hit Meijer they still had a ton of stuff left there too. picked up another hard drive (going to compare to see which one is better), frames, Adidas hoodie, dvds

Then enjoyed some IHOP :gdlicklips:

Finished at JCPenney's with a few clothing items. Oh and we stopped at Mernard's too - nice store. picked up some odds-n-ends.

Did a bunch of online shopping on Turkey day which eliminated my need to go to some of the crazier stories.

This morning I got to Staples at 5:15 (I slept first, blasphemy!) and got the $400 HP which imo was the best deal out there this year with the free printer and some blank media. Then I went to Kohls where I got a game, knives, 2 rugs, wrapping paper, a pair of pants, and 3 sweaters for less than $180 AND am getting $50 back to use for the rest of my holiday shopping there (quite pleased with that one). Then did some lesser shopping and I'm back home to continue the dealhunting online (c'mon Amazon!)

First, TRU. Got there at 9:30 and was about 40th in line. As midnight drew closer, there were literally hundreds of people in line behind me...wrapped around the building next to us. Of course, there were the people sitting in their car, waiting for the doors to open. They were gathering, trying to make a "second" line. This did not go over well. Fights were breaking out in the front of the line due to line jumpers. Cops were called. Cops had to call back up. The people who did not stand in line were NOT allowed in until all those hundreds of people who were in line got to go in. They were not happy..did not like that their plan did not work.

At 11:45, they handed out Zhu Zhu tickets. People immediately started selling them to people at the end of the line for a quick $10. I did not want mine b/c I have all my zhu zhus, so I gave mine to someone (didn't think it was right to sell it). A lady behind me had a lot of friends with her, they gave her all their tickets, so she had 6 of them. At checkout there was NO problem for her to get 6 at one time as long as she had the tickets.

When it was midnight, they allowed only 40 people in the store at a time. Once inside, only 15 allowed in electronics at a time. The big boo boo, they mislabeled the mp3 player bins. I was sent in by my friend to get the "$17 mp3 player". I did not know what it looked like, so I just looked for the bin that said $17. All the mp3s looked the same. When we got home we realized they must have swapped the signs because I got the $11 mp3 player. BUT I checked and those were the only ones there in the bin. My friend is not happy, but it's not my fault.

Next to Meijer. LOVE LOVE LOVE Meijer!!!!!!!! They are the most organized black friday retailer. Because TRU and other places were opening early, it was NOT CROWDED. Everyone got into the line they wanted and was comfortable enough to leave their cart in the line to hold their place. It was awesome and I will only do Meijer from now on. Most of their doorbusters were still on the shelves..so we grabbed what we wanted at 1am and then put our cart in the line we wanted for the big ticket things and hung out next to startbucks for the next 4 hours. It was organized, clean, the managers called over the PA how many items were left at each station and officially closed lines that were longer than what they had product for. I cannot say enough good things about Meijer. I think I will only do my BF shopping there from now on.

Then on to Gamestop. Not a very big line at all. In and out..done deal.

back couldnt post from line. I got there at 4:30 waited in the car till 5 and was number 4 out of who knows how many. Staples was the most disorganized mess I have ever seen in my life. Gave the guy my ticket to get my harddrive and told him i needed moms computer he took the ticket and never came back. Then they said "ok every dont stand here everyone line up to check out". By then there was like a hundred people in line. So we had to go ahead and get in line even though we didnt have our stuff. Mom started pnaicking so we grabbed a saleslady and she said she'd take care of it. she then came back and asked me which guy it was (I didnt remmeber I wasnt really even paying attention to what the guy looked like) so then she went in back again then came out with my ticket and said the computer was waiting for me behind the register. We ended up with everything except the 8gb sdhc card. We didnt get out of there until 7 oclock!!! Other than that we did good I went to Target and LOADED UP on tv dvd's. then we went to sears and i got my snuggie and found the 8gb sdhc card for the same price it was at staples. Then it was off to office depot got everything I needed there and then our last stop was Kohl's which kinda irritated me. I went in there for the 9.99 rocket blender (just like the magic bullet blender) and they were all sold out. If I had known that I wouldve grabbed one at MAcy's when i saw them there.
