  1. None of the hot toys the kids want. I know a lot of people who did not buy the monster high and squinkies because they thought they'd have an awesome sale (bundle packs or exclusives) on BF. Now they are sold out and there won't be any deal on BF.
  2. There are some Kmarts that are going out of business with little to no notice. I went in to put a layaway in and I spent an HOUR putting stuff in my cart. The signs for layaway were everywhere. I get to the counter and the lady said "I hope you aren't planning on putting that in layaway. This store doesn't do that no more." I point to the HUGE signs for layaway and she was like "Yeah, well we are closing in a month." I asked a friend who already had a layaway in if she had been notified and she said she has not. I hope they don't plan on just closing without honoring the layaway or letting people know ahead of time.
  3. Target has the latest Monster High dolls..Ghoulia and Holt. My Target actually had ALL of them last week...so I would go check them out before they are gone. Not only that, they were only $15.00 each!
  4. My daughter thinks the dolls included with the LPS look super creepy. They are Blythe dolls.

    St. Nick

St. Nick is more of a German tradition. I am not Catholic, but I always had a stocking filled on the morning of the 6th growing up. It is HUGE here in SW Ohio...because it is mostly people of German decent living here and Catholics. Normally, I used to get candy, fruit, and little lip glosses and hair things. This year, my girls are getting xmas socks, hat/gloves, candy, hair bows, and a small toy. http://bayberryfolkart.com/santahistory.aspx
  6. Ugh, I think it was only the girls 8 plus clothing. I thought it was going to be on accessories for the dolls or something ;( Man, I couldve went to bed awhile ago.
  7. First, TRU. Got there at 9:30 and was about 40th in line. As midnight drew closer, there were literally hundreds of people in line behind me...wrapped around the building next to us. Of course, there were the people sitting in their car, waiting for the doors to open. They were gathering, trying to make a "second" line. This did not go over well. Fights were breaking out in the front of the line due to line jumpers. Cops were called. Cops had to call back up. The people who did not stand in line were NOT allowed in until all those hundreds of people who were in line got to go in. They were not happy..did not like that their plan did not work. At 11:45, they handed out Zhu Zhu tickets. People immediately started selling them to people at the end of the line for a quick $10. I did not want mine b/c I have all my zhu zhus, so I gave mine to someone (didn't think it was right to sell it). A lady behind me had a lot of friends with her, they gave her all their tickets, so she had 6 of them. At checkout there was NO problem for her to get 6 at one time as long as she had the tickets. When it was midnight, they allowed only 40 people in the store at a time. Once inside, only 15 allowed in electronics at a time. The big boo boo, they mislabeled the mp3 player bins. I was sent in by my friend to get the "$17 mp3 player". I did not know what it looked like, so I just looked for the bin that said $17. All the mp3s looked the same. When we got home we realized they must have swapped the signs because I got the $11 mp3 player. BUT I checked and those were the only ones there in the bin. My friend is not happy, but it's not my fault. Next to Meijer. LOVE LOVE LOVE Meijer!!!!!!!! They are the most organized black friday retailer. Because TRU and other places were opening early, it was NOT CROWDED. Everyone got into the line they wanted and was comfortable enough to leave their cart in the line to hold their place. It was awesome and I will only do Meijer from now on. Most of their doorbusters were still on the shelves..so we grabbed what we wanted at 1am and then put our cart in the line we wanted for the big ticket things and hung out next to startbucks for the next 4 hours. It was organized, clean, the managers called over the PA how many items were left at each station and officially closed lines that were longer than what they had product for. I cannot say enough good things about Meijer. I think I will only do my BF shopping there from now on. Then on to Gamestop. Not a very big line at all. In and out..done deal.

DD1 - American Girl Julie and an outfit Build a Bear with accessory DS game DD2 - American Girl Ruthie and an outift Build a Bear with accessory DS Game DD3 - American Girl Kit and an outift Build a Bear with accessory DS Game All three will share Zhu Zhu pets and accessories (I found all of them!) The BIG gift will be a 2 night stay at Great Wolf Lodge for Dec 26-28!! So, we did spend alot of money, but on QUALITY things (you can never go wrong with american girl..). The Zhu Zhu pets might be something they lose interest in in a few months, but they really want it now. I used to spend a lot of money to fill the tree with a bunch of crap, but now focus on EXPERIENCE gifts and family togetherness gifts. Niece and Nephew - shared gift of a Fort kit I got on Woot Nephew and Nephew - shared gift of Fort kit I got on Woot (it was a 2 for tuesday, lol!) Aunts, Uncles, Cousins - Grocery store gift card and some baked goods. MIL - A curio cabinet, photobook, household basket Mom - photobook, gift card I have a ton of brothers and sisters, so we just pull one name to do an exchange...probably a gift card. 9. Polly Pockets. The actual figures I don't mind...its the little clothes and shoes that never stay on and I find the cats chewing on. Also, the playsets never EVER work the way they show in commercials and fall apart constantly. Polly is banned in our house.
  10. My friend wants me to spend the night at Meijers with her this year because she heard the sales are awesome. How do those stores typically do their sales? Do they wait until a specific time to put stuff out? Will they tell you where they will be? Or can you just walk around with it in your cart until the sale starts? Thanks
  11. usually just target and walgreens....i do not have the patience for best buy or walmart when its NOT BF.

    Dora links doll

I doubt we will be getting it. I told my girls THREE gifts each only. They already requested American Girl, Build A Bears, and zhu zhu pets. Besides, I cannot keep up with all of their online accounts as it is..webkinz, club penguin, buildabearville, shiddonni, star doll, shining stars, raz-kids..etc etc. ..
  13. It's only September and these things are already stressing me out. First of all, I told all three of my girls that Santa is only bringing each one 3 gifts this year. (Im trying to cut down on greediness and crap in my house). I told them that will leave toys for kids who do not have alot. So, all three of them immediately said zhu zhu's are the 1st choice of the their 3 gifts. Every shelf is bare. When I went to look yesterday, there were at least 5-6 other people searching at each store as well. So how bad would it be...they just got used to the idea that they will only be recieving 3 gifts and if I don't find the ONE thing they want, I will feel so bad. I'm not even waiting until BF to buy them...if I see them, I'm grabbing them. I'm picturing the mobs of people fighting over CPK and my mom getting punched in the face when she tried to get me one. I hope people would have some class...but I'm not counting on it, LOL.
  14. Was just at my Target and they have about 20 of the 3pks. They are 34.99. I bet alot of people don't know that they have it already, so go get one and go back in for a price adjustment on Friday.
  15. Thanks, I ordered the Lilly and Oliver doll. She already has Hannah, she doesnt need another one. I used Bill Me Later and it took shipping off...so it was only 25.98 for the two dolls. Phew, now I dont have to fight at Target for a LIlly and Oliver doll.
  16. Does anyone know how much these retail for? I mean, if 30 is the sale price, how much do you think they will be non Black Friday? Thanks!
  17. I have inside info. Target WILL have them on Sunday. I know my specific store will have 11. It will be in the ad. One of my brothers works at Target and told me about it. He said they are already there and they are counted by the manager every night to make sure an employee didnt buy one. Even the employees have to stand in line outside if they want one. Hope this helps someone!!!!
  18. PHEW!! I am the luckiest girl on the planet. I scored myself a wii with amazon back in september. My mom wanted me to help her get several Wiis for my siblings. She needs 3. I scored one for her during a walmart preorder and then this morning, I was 17 in line at Best Buy and they were got 18. I got there at 8:30 and they passed out tickets at 9am. Only ONE more to go. My mom is planning on surprising everyone with their own wii's at Christmas. We are all older (no one is under 22, lol) so no one is expecting my mom to buy them an expensive system like this. Usually we get gift cards :)
  19. Well, first of all, I was in line at Target on BF at 4 am. I was 5th in line. As the morning progressed, employees came out with free coffee and donuts. A few dept managers came out and told every one where to look for the items in the ad. They kept the line very orderly and made sure no one cut in line. The best part of the whole thing was that about 10 minutes before the store opened, about half of the employees came out and stood between the line and the gangs of ballsy people who were standing in the parking lot, ready to rush in without waiting in line. They linked arms and then there were 2 police cruisers on either side for backup. The people who sat in their cars, thinking they would just walk in in front of people who have been waiting were shocked and pissed, LOL! The Target employees even told them "You must wait until the entire line has gone into the store before you are allowed in". KUDOS!! to Target. Last year, I missed out on a tv deal, even though I was only 7th in line b/c people from the parking lot rushed the door. Im definetly doing Target again next year. They were courteous and took care of the people who stood out in the cold for 2 hours.
  20. Does anyone subscribe to Nintendo Power? If you do, you can register your Wii with Nintendo.com and get an additional 90 day warranty. Apparently the problems have been occuring when it does automatic updates. Mine did just fine, but Im glad I got the extended warranty just for registering it..you never know.
  21. Okay, Im horrible at math, so can someone explain how the game gets the correct answer every time? I remember reading how it was done, but I totally forgot.
  22. Phew!!! After that fiasco with LikSang, I didn't think I'd get one on preorder (as a mom of very small children, I cannot do the 'camp' out thing). Anyhow, I by chance got in on the very first Amazon preorder on 9/15. I just got my confirmation that my Wii has shipped via DHL one day shipping!!! Im so excited! Plus I didnt have to buy a bundle :) I was also lucky enough to get the component cable before they sold out. I put in a back up preorder with Walmart about a month ago. Im not sure if I will get that one or not.
  23. Those with HDTV, you can now order your component cable from Nintendo. Shipping is either 5,7, or 13.00. From what I understand these will only be available online. I know gamestop has a Madcatz one, but its much more expensive. store.nintendo.com/componentvideocable
  24. Even with shipping, its a good deal. I wish I were in for one, but my kids already have a boat load for Christmas. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2401600&siteID=pp0U11nmf3Y-JUV7KF5pHR5QVJbuek57uA http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pTRU1-3027902dt.jpg
